Chapter 71 Stop Flirting with Other Women

Today, Vivienne ditched the cocktail dress for a simple black off-the-shoulder top and an A-line leather skirt. It had a bit of a bookish vibe, but it still showed off her feminine side.

She had someone help her pick out the outfit. After meeting Daphne a couple of times, she couldn't figure out why Carl was into that delicate, frail type.

But Vivienne still dressed like Daphne, hoping to catch Carl's eye.

As soon as she walked into the venue, a few business leaders she knew came over to chat. But Vivienne was distracted, scanning the room for Carl.

Failing to find him, she got a bit antsy and thought about leaving.

Just then, a waiter came up to her and asked, "Are you Vivienne?"

Vivienne eyed him cautiously and nodded.

"A gentleman said he knows who you're looking for and can help. He's waiting for you in room 1006."

With that, the waiter walked off without another word. Vivienne wanted to chase after him for more info, but a business leader who had helped her before blocked her way.

After a quick chat, she excused herself to the restroom. She figured it had to be Alan asking her over.

But the last time Alan got involved, it was gross and made her skin crawl. She didn't want to deal with that again. Still, her eagerness for seeing Carl made her grit her teeth and decide to check it out.

Room 1006

Vivienne quietly pushed the slightly open door. The lights were on, but the room was empty.

Suddenly, a pair of big hands grabbed her from behind, and the door clicked shut.

"Darling! You know I love you the most. Please forgive me!"

It was Alan. Vivienne struggled but couldn't break free.

She rolled her eyes but spoke softly, "Mr. Fisher, I'm Vivienne. You must be mistaken."

"Vivienne?" Alan looked confused but quickly shook his head.

"I didn't do anything with Vivienne, honey. You know I love you the most. Please don't divorce me." As he spoke, Alan's hands started wandering under Vivienne's skirt.

"Mr. Fisher! Aren't you afraid your wife will get mad?"

"You're my wife."

Vivienne was speechless. He reeked of alcohol; he must be drunk.

She finally managed to free herself from Alan's grip. But just as she relaxed for a second, he grabbed her again, holding on tightly.

He said, "Claire, you know I can't live without you. Let's live happily together, okay?"

Vivienne gave up struggling and softly comforted him, "Okay, I forgive you. What about those other women? And Vivienne, what are you going to do about her?"

"Vivienne? Who doesn't like a beautiful woman? I just couldn't hold back since she's just too tempting with that big butt!"

Vivienne couldn't hold back and pushed him hard. Alan, already unsteady, fell onto the bed.

Suddenly, Alan rolled off the bed and knelt in front of Vivienne, leaving her completely stunned.

"Claire, believe me. You're the only one in my heart. I've cut ties with all those other women. Can you treat me like you used to?"

Vivienne sighed and pulled him up from the floor. "Alright, I believe you. Just don't flirt with other women anymore, okay?"

Alan draped himself over Vivienne again, grinning. "I'll listen to you. Can I touch you today? It's been so long since we slept together."

Before she could respond, Alan picked her up and tossed her onto the bed. Vivienne screamed, feeling dizzy.

But as soon as Alan got on the bed, he passed out cold.

Vivienne didn't care about him anymore. She tried to get up but found she had no strength left and eventually fell asleep too.

It was because the waiter had given Vivienne the same drink.

However, Vivienne only took a few sips, so the drug took a while to kick in.

Watching the footage from her phone, Claire saved all the recordings. Her eyes were cold and emotionless.

With the evidence in hand, it was worth setting up this trap.

The room was equipped with high-definition cameras. After organizing all the data, she opened Otis's email and sent it over.

Then she found Otis's Facebook and politely sent a message: [Otis, the video has been sent to your email. Thank you very much.]

[Received.]

Closing the chat window, Claire opened Daphne's Facebook: [Daphne, I successfully got the evidence.]

Daphne: [Congratulations, I hope everything goes well.]

[If it weren't for your help, I wouldn't know how long I'd be stuck in this situation. Things wouldn't have turned around so much. Otis is very professional, and I think everything will be fine.]

The next morning.

Daphne felt much better today. As soon as she picked up her phone, she saw a message from Jade. She asked Daphne to call her back after she woke up.

Checking the time, she figured Jade was still awake, as she was quite the night owl.

Dialing the number, she heard Jade's familiar voice. "Daphne, thank goodness you saved me."

"What happened?"

"Are you okay? You sound tired." Jade noticed the fatigue in her voice. Daphne briefly explained her recent illness.

"I told you I could make it back for your kid's birthday party." Jade replied out of nowhere after hearing the story.

"Be serious."

"I'm serious. Even if you're just Carl's wife in name, he wouldn't keep you around if he didn't care about you. Look at how he's been running around for you. You're just too close to see it clearly."

Daphne smiled. "I know my own charm. Enough about me. What's going on with you? It's dangerous to be out so late."

"Didn't I secure an investment introduced by a professor from school? Do you remember Sophie Russell?"

"The one who used to be in your class and always gave you a hard time?"
