CHAPTER 144

CHAPTER 144
ANASTASIA

The news of Woods passing went round the werewolf land, stunning many.

The truth behind his death was covered with a different story, which every werewolf believed, after learning of his deeds.

The wolf force claimed they were the ones who took down Woods when the Alpha refused to comply with them, leading the matter into a serious fight.

"He was violent. He even attempted to end Anastasia De Great's life, so we had no choice but to stop him," The head had lied to the public.

I know, surprising right?

The wolf force are taking responsibility for Woods death?

Well, they had no choice.

I don't know how my Alpha did it, but that handsome beast found a secret the force have been hiding from the public for long, and used that to get them to work for him!

Like, they were shaken and had no other option but to obey!

I don't know what he found, truth be told.

But that man shocked me.

He's my big bad wolf!

Those who witnessed what happened at the party, made the tale solid by sharing Alpha Woods behavior.

Not just that, there were videos being released to the public, exposing Woods hidden life as a Mafia.

These evidences were released by my Alpha's team, who got these footages from those Mafias—once Woods accomplices—displaying the Alpha as a terrible being.

The video contained clips of all the clubs in different packs and the women who fell victim to the substance.

A case Diego had to attend to in the shadows, saving the lives of these poor ladies.

That made me so happy.

The Mafias who surrendered to my Diego, gave up their clubs and claimed Woods owned it, cleaning themselves from their own crimes.

"I am so disappointed in Woods. I can't believe such an unholy ground was created in my pack!"

"If I had known that his visit into my land was for this horrible crime, I would have fought him a long time ago."

"I'll make sure I search every area in this pack and cleanse it of his evil!"

All Alphas and business wolves who knew Woods, spoke ill of him, most especially the ones who were closer to that sick old man. They compared his qualities and lifestyle to Diego's, portraying my Alpha as the perfect example of a true Alpha,.

Why won't they?

No one wants to face the same gruesome death like Woods.

They are no longer Mafia Bosses like they always called themselves, but just mere Mafias.

The only Boss they recognize, fear, and bow to, is my Alpha Lord.

I haven't forgotten about my stepmother and step sister. They didn't escape the public's roar either.

Those videos we showed everyone at the party, we uploaded it online, destroying their image.

Linda, despite being banished, came back to beg my father, seeking for his forgiveness to take both her and Casey back.

She didn't know her return made things easy for my Dad, who didn't hesitate to end his marriage with Linda, handing her the divorce papers he got.

To him, it's better to be alone than to be married to a partner who wishes evil upon his home.

"Don't do this to me, Ray. Think about all the beautiful memories we shared," She had cried, shaking and touching herself abnormally.

Signs of the infection.

You reap what you sow.

"It'll be best if you leave this place on your own, or I'll make you," Father had threatened, causing Linda to leave in fear on seeing his raging gaze.

And let's not forget about Alpha Damian. He got locked away by the wolf force, with no future plans of getting released anytime soon.

An order from the Alpha Lord himself.

He wants to deal with Damian his own way. Who knows what he has in store for him.

The elders didn't hesitate to look for a new Alpha to rule Wolf blood. And that lucky wolf turned out to be my own father!

I was flabbergasted when he shared this with us.

"Behold Wolf Blood's new ruler, Alpha Raymond De Great!" Father had announced joyfully, planting a smile on our faces.

I'm so proud of him.

What else am I missing?

There are so many things I want to talk about that has been... Ah yes! The cure.

The pill worked.

Diego and I went for another test and Jeremy confirmed the horny infection has been cleared from our body completely!

We shared this great news with father, who couldn't hold back his joy, thanking Jeremy for making this possible.

"You don't know how grateful I am. Thank you so much."

"Oh, no need to, sir. Your daughter is very special to us. I did what any other doctor in my place would have done."

"You deserve a reward. Just tell me what ever you want, and I'll give it to you."

"Sir, please don't," Jeremy laughed, refusing Father's offer.

But yeah, his pride couldn't stay hidden for long. He felt on top of the world, with his shoulder raised high like a pillar.

He deserves any praise that comes his way.

Honestly, these week has been going well for us. With the enemies finally out of the way, good news here and there... I think it's time to focus on the main event.

"I'm so happy for you!" Sonia cheered, holding my hands tight.

"Just two more days and you'll be married!" She screamed excitedly, making me laugh.

Yep. My Alpha kept his words.

He has begun our wedding arrangement, and in two days, we'll be mated as one.

I don't know if I should scream along with Sonia or jump high to the heavens.

I'm so excited, honestly.

"That man loves you so much. I bet he can't wait for the mating ceremony to commence. I won't be surprised if he changes his plan and sets the wedding tonight," Sonia laughed, teasing me.

I smirked and said, poking her lightly on the nose, "That's the same way Arnold feels when he's with you. He must be dying to make you his bride as soon as possible."

"Don't be silly," She blushed, smiling hard.

Then she shared, playing with her hair while looking around to make sure no one was coming, "Be expecting our wedding soon. Like very very soon."

"You mean this same month?" I asked, my eyes popping in amusement.

Sonia nodded.

"Oh my...AHHH!" I screamed but covered my mouth quickly.

"That's my Beta! No delay!" I laughed while Sonia covered her face in embarrassment, giggling behind her palms.

That wasn't the only thing Arnold shared with her.

"He found my step father," She revealed, her voice filled with hate.

"That drunk bastard sold my home and ran off to a different pack to start afresh. Arnold traced his location down to a woman's house. He's engaged to this single mother, ready to become a stepfather to an innocent child."

"What an ass."

"Yeah, a big one. Now Arnold wants me to decide his fate. That's why I'm telling you."

"Wait, you want my advice?"

Sonia nodded, taking hold of my hand.

"What do you think I should do? What punishment can I give to him?" She asked these questions which sounded like she was questioning her own heart.

Taking note of her worry, I responded with a smile, "You don't need to think much about this, sis. You're Beta Arnold's mate. I think it's high time you showed your stepfather what the new Sonia can do. You understand what I mean, don't you?"

I winked, delivering the message.

Sonia grabbed it alright. And she looked really pleased with my words.

"I'm not used to guns yet, but I think I'll start with a dagger."

"A lovely surprise," I chuckled, patting her.

Our chat was soon interrupted by Diego and Arnold's pace down the stairs. They were in a hurry, looking serious.

"Is everything okay?" I asked, rising to my feet with Sonia.

Diego turned to look at me and said, drawing near, "We found a link to our target."

"You mean Woods partner?"

Diego nodded.

"Finally," I sounded in relief.

Diego promised he'd be back once he gets hold of the fellow.

"He can't escape me," He smirked, giving me a kiss on the cheek, before zooming out of the mansion.

Arnold followed him after giving Sonia a peck.

Both Alpha and Beta were on a mission, not just to find this wolf who is behind the creation of this deadly substance, but to attend to those who are still facing the infection.

If we want to produce more of the cure, we need more of the drugs to make this work.

And this has become a high demand in the underworld.

The Mafias desperately need it.

Diego now sells the cure to them, since they are his main target and preys. They're heavily infected and almost at their final stage, so they need it to keep themselves from dying, even though this particular cure won't heal them completely.

Jeremy did some adjustments to benefit us more.

They pay a larger amount to get the cure, and also sell to horny wolves out there, helping them ease the disease.

The only people who got the one-time cure were innocent ladies who had no intentions of becoming whores. Diego made sure their healing was permanent.

But for the rest... They gotta pay for it.

Few minutes after Diego and Arnold left, a guard came in with his phone and said to me, "Luna, there's someone who wishes to speak to you."

"Me?" I rose a brow, wondering who this person was.

When I answered the call, it turned out to be one of the Mafias, a Beta exactly, who needed my presence because of a stranger.

"She's begging for the cure, but I already told her that she needs to speak with the heads."

"It's fine. I'll be there," I said, ending the call.

Sonia gave me a questioning gaze, which I responded to, "Someone wants to beg me for the cure."

"Did he say who?"

"No, but we're about to find out."

Together—with four guards—we left for Red Moon pack and arrived at the location— which was at a hotel—meeting up with the Beta who contacted me.

I saw him sitting in the VIP corner in the hotel, with a lady who was backing my direction, talking to the Beta.

When the Beta saw me, he immediately got to his feet to welcome me.

"Luna, welcome."

That got the lady to do the same, rising to her feet to welcome me as well.

But the moment I laid my eyes on her, I was astonished!

"Linda?" I recognized my stepmother in her brown filthy garment and black scarf around her face, as she stared at me in shock.

"This can't be. Are you sure she's the one or the lady beside her?" She asked the Beta confusingly.

"Respect yourself around the boss!" The Beta scolded Linda for asking such a question and apologized to me.

"She had no idea that you're the boss. Please forgive me."

"That's okay," I smiled, my heart swelling with joy at Linda's predicament.

"I'll handle this."

"Thank you, Luna," He bowed, excusing us.

Linda was still shocked.

After seeing how the Beta behaved, she fell on her knees and began to seek for my mercy.

"Anna my child, please forgive your mother for her sins. I am so sorry for hurting you," She begged, crying loudly.

There were no signs of tear drops. She was just trying to look like a weeping soul.

"Anna, please help your mother. Your sister and I are at the point of death. We are suffering. Casey has been running insane for days and... I fear her end is near if she doesn't get cured. Please help us," She bowed, her head almost touching my feet.

I drew my leg away from her, watching her cry about Casey's case.

"Please my child. Remember your family. Don't let us die."

"Family?" I scoffed, looking at her from head to toe.

"You never saw me as your daughter when you fed me that drug, Linda. You were desperate to hear the news of my death, so that Casey could permanently replace me in my father's life. Now that the tables have turned, I'm your family?"

"I was wrong. It was all Woods doing. He poisoned my mind against you," She claimed.

But I know it's just a lie.

"Let me be honest with you, Linda... You're wasting your time begging me. It'll be best if you wait for the Alpha Lord himself, because my answer is No," I finalized, making it clear to her.

She swayed her head, crawling towards me to spare her life.

But what I've said is the truth.

"Linda, I'm not the right person for you. If I listen to your plea, I might just give you the infected drug again and claim that's the cure. Or maybe a different drug that will quicken yours and Casey's death," I grinned, terrifying her.

"Wait for my Alpha's return. Maybe he might consider you both."

"No!" She refused, rising to her feet.

"Alpha Diego will do worse. I don't want him."

"Then you're on your own. Have a nice day," I waved goodbye, ready to leave with Sonia.

That's when Linda said, stopping me in my track, "What if I give you an important information in exchange for the cure?"

"What kind of information are you talking about?" I asked, turning to face her.

Then she said, her face filled with seriousness, "I know the name of the mastermind Diego is looking for."

"What?" Sonia and I chorused, looking at each other.

"Yes. His name, his location... I know it all."

She can't be serious.

Is this another one of her scheme?
