Chapter 12: Foolish Prince
"Some can call me fool from waiting for nothing. But how can I be fool if I'm waiting for my everything?"
Vernon's POV
"Sabi ko sayo hyung mauunahan kita eh." -Dk
"Hoy! Kung hindi dahil sa advices ko, hindi ka magkakajowa." -Jeonghan hyung
"Ang mahalaga nagkajowa." -Dk
"Alam mo? Wala kang kwentang kaibigan." -Jeonghan hyung
We're just watching the two of them while arguing. Well, they're not fighting, it is just how they talk to each other.
"Vernon-ah, ba't ang tahimik mo?" Seungkwan suddenly approach
"Kailan ba nag-ingay yan." I just laugh on what Wonwoo hyung said.
"I'm ok." I said to him then smiled
*phone rings*
All of them find who's phone was ringing.
"I think it's mine." I said and grabs my phone and answer the call.
"I-irish?" I nervously said.
"Irish?" -Dk confusely asked and then all of them our now looking at me.
"Nonie! Missed me? Puntahan mo na ko dito sa Airport!" she said in the line
"Airport? What are you doing there?"
"Nakauwi na ako. Kaya sunduin mo na ko dito. I'll wait ok? Bye!" after saying that, she hunged up
I slowly put my phone in my pocket. Sinking all the words she have said. Is she really here now?
"Nandito na si Irish?" Coups hyung asked. I just nodded.
"Diba ikakasal na sila nung boyfriend niya? Ba't pa siya uuwi dito?"-Dk
That was also the question in my head
"Go na Vernon, you should get her to the airport. Balitaan mo nalang kami ah." I just nodded then pick up the keys in the table.
You're already here Irish. But why? How about your fiance?

"Nonie!! Whaaaa I missed you!!" she runs towards me and give me a really tight hug.
I hug her too. I really missed you. But I can't tell.
"Why are you here? Where's Dan? Your fiance?" I asked
"Fiance? May fiance ba ako?" I just give him a confused look?
"Hahaha! I don't have fiance Nonie! He's gone. He cheated on me."
"Again?!"
"For the third time." she said
"But, You're already going to get married right?" I asked but she just clinged her arms to mine and started to walk.
"Alam mo? Wag na natin yun pag-usapan ok? Samahan mo nalang ako. I missed you kaya! Di mo ba ako namiss?"
"Of course..... I am. But--"
"Great! I'm going to stay at your condo."
"What?! Irish?"
"Why nonie? I want to stay with you. Sige naaaa!" she just look at me with her puppy eyes.
"Fine." I surrender

"She's here." I said while holding my phone and Seungkwan is in the other line
"Jan siya mag stay?" he asked
"She wants to stay here. I can't stop her."
"Kailan mo ba siya pinigilan? Parang lagi namang siya yung nasusunod diba?"
"Foul." I said
"Hahahaha! Why? Nonie? Hahahaha! Kidding aside, what's your plan now? Your lover was there staying at your condo? May I remind you something? She's going to be married soon."
"They're over."
"What?!"
"Dan cheated on her for the third time."
"Soooo, for the third time, you're going to have another chance. Mind if you grab that chance mister Chwe?" I chuckled.
"Should I? Or another loss again? You know Irish Kwan, she loves Dan so much, I know, she will find it hard to forget him."
"Kaya nga ayaw mo umamin diba? Kasi advance ka mag-isip at alam mo na agad na talo ka. Hindi manlang nata-try. Bakit hindi mo subukan na suyuin siya? Baka naman sa pagkakataong ito, pansinin ka na niya."
"You know I can't."
"Kasi duwag ka."
"Alam mo bye na."
"Ohoyyy! Nagtagalog na. Galit ka na Nonie?"
"I am, Kwannie."
"Wag mo kong tawaging Kwannie adik ka."
"Wag mo din akong tawaging Nonie mas adik ka."
He just laugh and he already ended the call. Seungkwan's right. I was then a coward. But how can I tell her what my feelings if I know deep into myself that she loves someone else?

"Minghao!!! Whaaaaaa Hayah!!" she runs towards the couple here at the rooftop and tightly hug Hayah.
"Irish? Kelan ka pa nakauwi?" Hayah asked and hug Irish back
"Kahapon lang." Irish smiled
"Minghao, thanks for taking care of my papers to enter this school huh?" she added and Hao just smiled at her.
"Mag-aaral ka dito?" Hayah asked
"Hindi, pero pwede na akong makapasok dito as visitor." she answered
"Ahh." I lightly weep when someone bump at me. And there I saw Dk.
"Why?" I wisphered
"Sana all daw magkakajowa na din sabi ni Jeonghan hyung." He laughed
"Aray!" he complaints when Jeonghan hyung throws him the empty can of softdrink.
"Narinig ko yun walang hiya ka talaga." Jeonghan hyung said and we just both laugh.
"Oh? Anong nangyari sayo Jeonghan?" Irish suddenly asked
"Ah, wala." he said and just glare Dk.
"I think I need to introduce Irish to you especially to the girls. Mylene, Faith, Ciarra, Shane, Belle, Justine, Kiane, Viviana, this is Irish my....... bestfriend. Irish they are the boys girlfriends."
"Whaaaaa parang noon lang wala pa kayong mga girlfriend ah! Coups-ssi? Jeonghan? wala pa kayong mga girlfriend? Naunahan pa kayo ng mga to?"
"I do have a girl Irish, she's in the province." Coups hyung said.
"Ooohh, I want to meet her by chance." Irish smiled. We all just keep quiet. I forgot to tell her about guys' love stories so she doesn't know about Coups hyung girl.
"Sure." Coups hyung answered.
Silence started to cope with us. I can't start a conversation eventhough I don't want Irish to feel weird.
"Si Jeonghan hyung di mo tatanungin?" as expected, Dk lifted the mood.
"Halata namang wala, weak yan eh." Irish said.
"Hoy manahimik kang bata ka. Nagtatampo pa ako sayo, kay Vernon ka nagpasundo at hindi sakin!"
"Hahahah sorry na twinny!" Irish said then went to Jeonghan hyung and hug him
"Twinny?" Ciarra asked
"Haha yes, well he's my cousin, we have the same birthday." the girls nodded.
"Bakit ka nga ba umuwi? Baka hanapin ka ni Dan, sabihin niya na yung bride niya kung saan-saan pa naglalakwatsa." and that hitted me. Although the truth was Dan cheated on her, I know deep in her heart, she still wants to be Dan's bride
"Wala na kami." she sadly ended the hug. No one speaks.
"I caught him for the third time. He cheated on me." she said
It took time before someone speak.
"Hindi kasi madala-dala jan sa Dan na yan. Anjan naman si Vernon kung bakit naghahanap pa ng iba." Jeonghan hyung said. I just glared at him.
"Oh? Ba't nasama si Nonie ko? He was my bestfriend kaya. Oh teka? Bakit nga ba wala kang pang girlfriend ha?" she clinged at me and ask that question.
"May hinihintay pa yan Irish!" Dk shouted
"Hinihintay? Sino?" she asked
On the back of my head, I really wanted to say that it's her I'm waiting for so long. But how could I even tell that? I was a coward, who choose to be her friend rather than to prove my feelings for her eventhough I already have a chance.
"No one, just don't mind him." I said.

"Where the hell are you Irish?!" I asked her through the phone
"Nonieee! I'm here at th--*hik* Bar!!"
"You're drunk!"
"No I'm not hahaha!" I just deep a sigh. This what I'm talking to. She's not okay. She's hurt because of what Dan, did to her.
"I'll fetch you. Just stay there." I said then hunged up.
When I arrived in the bar I'm surely she's here, I immediately find her. And there she is in the bar Island with her head downcast.
"Irish." I called her
She slowly lift her head and looked at me.
"Nonieee! You're here. Drink with me. Waiter!! Gi--"
"Enough Irish, we're going." I said then start to guide her to get outside.
"Nonieee inom pa tayo!!" she keep on saying as we enter my car.
"You're already drunk. You need to rest." I said.
As I started the engine, she already fall asleep. Before I start to drive, I looked at her first. Down to her lips. Something was strange and I feel attempting on kissing her. But something caught my attention. There were tears falling from her closed eyes.
She's crying. Because of Dan. I just deep a sigh and wipe her tears. I kissed her forehead and started to drive home
How I wish I could be Dan. And I'll make sure that there's no tears will escape from her eyes.
As we arrive at my condo, I guided her to her room. I carefully lyed her down to the bed.
My eyes get stuck on her angelic face. Nothing changed. She's still beautiful as a goddess. I looked down to her lips again. And for the second time, I can feel the urge to kiss her. As she moved her lips while breathing, the more desire for me to kiss her.
And that happened. I sealed her lips with mine. It maybe selfish but I can feel the happiness inside me as I felt her lips.
But my eyes get widened
S-she responded......
She grabs my nape and continously kisses me. I can hear her soft moan and I about to take of my shirt when I heard her speak.
"Dan...." and that stopped me. I stood up and stare at her. Tears are falling again to her cheeks. She's dreaming. Of Dan.
She's not kissing me, she's kissing Dan. I chuckled. What am I thinking? Irish? Will kiss me? How silly I am.
I covered her with the comforter and wipe her tears. I wiped her tears as I wipe mine also. Who wouldn't be? I cried, because I think of an impossible chance. Without any words, I lost.

"Hangover?" I asked when I go check for Irish in her room as the morning strikes and there she was, holding her head with a messy hair.
"Nalasing ako?"
"No..... you're not drunk right?" I said sarcastically
"Nonie naman eh!" I just laughed at her.
"Follow me, I've make your breakfast. I also made a milk for you." I said and let her fixed herself first. I headed to the kitchen and wait for her.
I remember what happened last night. Does she remember anything? About the kiss?
Maybe no. I think what she remember is Dan who is kissing her in her dream.
"Thank you Nonie ko." I looked at her as she get the cup of milk I made for her. She's not fond of coffee, so I made her milk for her hangover.
"What are you doing in that place?" I started the conversation
"Mmm... wag ka na magalit. I just missed the vibe in the bar."
"You should've tell me. I can go with you." I said.
"I know you're busy with your school. So I go by myself."
"And you think it's good? I get worried. Irish. Please don't do that again. Okay?"
"Okay Nonie ko. I'm sorry again." She said and give me her sweetest smile. I remember how sweet her lips also.
"Honestly, I just miss him." I go back to reality as I heard what she said
"Dan?" I asked eventhough it's already obvious. She nodded
"You still love him?" I asked again eventhough I already know the answer.
"I will always." If my heart could speak, it would shout because of the pain.
"But I want to stop. I want to forget. But I don't know how. If I could only find a way." she said then stood up. She walk through the refrigerator and get some berries. I followed her and stand behind her. Without her knowing.
"Oh?! Nonie! Nanggugulat ka naman eh." she weeped.
"What if I know some way for you to forget him?" I said.
"Hmmm? Then what is it?" she asked.
"Be mine." I don't know where I got the nerve of saying this to her. But I only knew one thing. I'm tired of wasting chances.
"Nonie...."
"I can be....... a rebound."

"Eh? Flower shop? Ba't tayo nandito?" Kwan asked. I asked him to go with me. He's the only one I can trust to, thus he already have a girlfriend; Justine. So I'm sure she can help me through this.
"Mmm. I want to buy something for Irish."
"Irish?! Nililigawan mo na siya?"
"Kinda.." I smiled
"Weehhh? Paano? Anong sinabi mo? Paano mo sinabi?"
"I just tell her that I can be a rebound for he--"
"Rebound?! Vern! Tanga lang?!"
"Why? It's the only way--"
"No it's not the only way! Ano? Gagawin ka niyang panakip butas tapos ano? Aasa ka? Tapos masasaktan ka?!"
"Ok, it's not the only way. But it's my choice. You already said once, I need to try. I need to grab the chance."
"Pero hindi sa ganitong paraan Vern! Sasaktan mo yung sarili mo eh. You can prove to her that you love her, but not letting yourself to be a rebound!"
"May pagkakaiba ba yun Seungkwan?" he did not speak. He know that this time, I'm serious
"Tell me, may pagkakaiba ba? Papatunayan ko ang sarili ko, kapag pinili niya parin si Dan, masasaktan ako. Hahayaan ko siyang gawin akong rebound, kapag pinili niya parin si Dan, masasaktan parin ako." I said
He just deep a sigh.
"Ano bang gusto mong bilihing bulaklak para sa kanya?" he changed the topic.
"I honestly don't know. That's why I asked for your help." he smiled at me. At last, I can say that he's still there for me. Supporting me all the way.
"Just remember that I'm always here for you."

"Are you sure it's okay with you?" she asked while we're both walking here at the park.
"Why? Aren't you comfortable?"
"No... It's just that--"
"I'm okay Irish. You know, I love you. And I want to do this." I can hear her deep sigh
"When did it started?"
"Since the day I've first met you." I said.
"Bakit hindi mo sinabi sa akin?" I sitted on the nearest bench and as she sit also.
"I tried, but Dan came. I lose of chance. Then he cheated on you..... I tried again. But you still choose him. And again he cheated, but still, Dan is the only one you see."
"I-I'm sorry." she said and tears started to escape from her eyes.
"Hey! Why are you crying?" I said and wiped her tears
"I didn't even know that I'm hurting you since then." she hugged me as she say those words. I hug her back and try to keep her calm.
"It's not your fault. It's my choice. I choose to love you from afar."
"Should we have a date then?" I looked at her with a confused look.
"Why are you looking me like that? Don't you want to date with me?"
"O-ofcourse I do. W-when?"
"Kailan ka ba free?" she said and winked at me
"Anytime."

"HOY! RELAX NGA!! Ano ba yan?!" -Jeonghan hyung yelled
"Balloon? Roses? Petals? Candles? Are they all ready? Woozi Hyung? How's your song? Seungkwan? Dk? Are you all ready?--"
"HEP! HEP! HEP! IKAW! Upo ka nga muna! Bigyan niyo nga ng upuan to!" Jeonghan hyung pulled me and let me sit on a chair
"Hyung? Why? At this moment I'm sure Hao and Irish is on their way he--"
"Relax nga muna Bonon! Date lang to ok?! Di pa kasal. Jusko! Pati ako natataranta sayo!" -Ciarra
"B-but...... ok fine! I'm nervous. I don't know how it feels. All I know is I want to see her. I want to spend this night with her." I just felt someone's arm to my shoulder. Then I saw it's Coups hyung
"Natural lang yan. You wait for her that long right? But Vernon, you need to relax. Walang matutulong yang kaba. All you need to follow is your heart." and then he smiled at me.
"Thanks hyung." I said.
"Nasa labas na sila Mingming." Hayah said.
I'm about to stand but Jeonghan hyung stopped me.
"Jan ka lang. Matataranta ka na naman eh." he said and glared at me.
As I looked at the entrance of the room, a goddess slowly gets in.
There she is wearing a simple rose pink dress.
"Enjoy." Jeonghan hyung whispered.
I stood up and accompanied Irish to sit on the chair.
Woozi started to strum the guitar and Irish take a look at the mini stage that was made by the girls. Seungkwan and Dk were both standing while holding a mic while Woozi hyung is sitting while holding his guitar and in front of a mic stand.

I was about to hold her hand but her phone rangs. He take a look at me first and then I gave an "okay" look.
And then stunned when hear who calls.
"Dan...."

"Why did you call?...... You're here? B-but....." and then I saw how tears started to fall through her cheeks. And then slowly she put down her phone.
"D-dan is here--"
"You should go there. I'm sure he's waiting."

"I will be okay. Don't mind me. Go with him."
"I'm sorry." and by that, she left.

"To the one she really loves." I said then also leave that room. I proceed to my room here at Minghao's mansion.
I just lye on my bed and stare at the ceiling. I can feel the warm liquid that is starting to fall from my eyes. And I just let it. I really wanted to cry. But...... do I have rights?
I know in the first place, it couldn't be me. It will always be Dan. How foolish I am.

"Wag ka mag-alala hyung. May karamay ka pa." then I saw how Seungkwan pointed at me.
"Ahh siya ba yung, mas gwapo daw sakin kaso tanga naman?" I just glared at him
"Foul." I said
"Yung nagparebound tapos hindi parin pinili?" -Seungkwan
"Foul." I said again
"Maraming nagsasabi na kulang nalang na kanya, korona at palasyo, mas gwapo pa siya sa prinsipe ng UK." -Jeonghan Hyung
"Tapos ano title niya hyung?" -Seungkwan
"Foolish Prince." then they both laugh
"Foul." I just said
"Traveling?" we just glared at Dk
"Baket?! Sabi niya Foul eh! Edi traveling sabi ko!" -Dk
"Musta maging tanga. Nonie? Hahahha!"
"Masaya, sarap manapak."
"Nagtagalog na. Yari tayo hyung." I just deep a sigh.
"Am I that fool?" I asked
"Hmm, waiting for nothing can be a fool." -Jeonghan hyung
"But you're strong for trying. Atleast you tried. Kahit hindi ikaw yung pinili." -Seungkwan
I deep a sigh. Maybe they're right. I'm a fool. But..... I just become a fool because I love her. I waited for her, and now that I have a chance, I grab it. But still, the same result, she didn't choose me.

Weeks have past. Going back to normal. School is the priority and we're now going to have the christmas break.
"Tara Korea!" -Seungkwan
"Ano gagawin natin dun? Kakain ka lang ng kakain dun eh." -Dk
"Sayo pa nanggaling ah?" -Seungkwan
"Paris nalang." -Shane
"Uyy gusto ko yon." -Ciarra
"Maganda magdate don. Sa may Eifel Tower." -Belle
"Hoy! Pupunta tayo bilang barkada! Bakit date pinag-uusapan niyo?!" -Jeonghan hyung
"Palibhasa walang jowa." Dk said and put his arms around Viviana's waist.
"Sakit sa mataaaaa!!" -Jeonghan hyung
"Oh? Vernon? Saan ka pupunta?" Coups hyung asked when I about to leave.
"I'm just going at the park hyung." I said then he nodded.
I sit on one of the bench there. I closed my eyes as the cold wind start to embrace me. It's almost six in the afternoon.
As I opened my eyes, I saw a couple who is currently hugging each other. I remember Irish. This is also the place where she hug me. The place where she told me that she want to have a date with me. Yes it happened, but she left.
"How I wish I could be Dan." I whispered.
That's the only thing I keep on wishing for. But I know it wouldn't be happen.

"WHAAAAAAA ANG GANDAAAA!!" -Ciarra
"As you." -Woozi hyung
"Ba't ganon? Pag si Woozi hyung yung bumabanat, kinikilabutan ako." -Dk
"Ako rin." -Jun hyung
"Akala niyo lang yun! Maharot kasi kayo. Nakakakilig kaya, minsan na nga lang siya bumanat eh." -Ciarra
"Gusto niyo kayo banatan ko?" -Woozi hyung
"Viviana san mo gusto pumunta?" -Dk
"Tara Kiane pasyal tayo." -Jun
I just chuckled upon hearing their conversation.
"Happy?" Coups hyung suddenly asked
"I should. Right?" I said.
"Don't be harsh on yourself. Don't worry. Everything's going to be alright." he tapped my shoulder and I just nodded.
"Eifel tower? At 9 pm." he said then leave.
Maybe he want to go with a walk. I think I also need that.

"Hello? Coups hyung? Where are you? I'm already here."
"Just wait, I bought some drinks."
"Okay. I'll wait." I said then hunged up
I just grabs my phone and took a photo of the Eifel tower. It will always be beautiful.
"N-nonie?" I feel a sudden froze.
That voice.
I slowly turn around and look if I'm right.
"I-irish? Why are you..... here?"
"Because of you." she said and runs towards me and gave me a tight hug.
I didn't know what's happening but I saw Coups hyung from afar. He smiled at me. And then I get it. It's his plan.
"Coups-ssi helped me." she said between our hug."
"But how? And....... why?" I asked as we ended the hug.
Irish's POV
"But how? And...... why?" he asked.
Well, it's because of Coups-ssi
I'm at the park staring at some chilrdren playing there.
I took my phone and read the recent message I have recieved.
"I will change, I promise. Thank you for fogiving me. It will be the last time that it will happen. I love you."
But for some reason, I feel guilty. I think something was wrong.
"Problem?" I looked on who speak beside me. And there I saw him
"Coups-ssi."
"You left him, at your date."
"Dan is here. He apologize."
"It seems that you're unhappy."
"I feel guilty, I think something's wrong."
"May I know why?"
"I didn't know either." then I deep a sigh
"I've been inlove..... with someone." he said
"Is that your girlfriend? From your province?"
"Mm. Her name was Gem. I loved her, but we didn't get enough time to love each other."
"What do you mean?"
"The universe get her from me. She died. Because of Cancer."
"I-I'm sorry to hear that."
"You wanna know why I'm telling this to you?"
"Why?"
"Because I don't want you to waste time for a wrong decision. I don't want you to experience how hard if the universe won't allow you to be happy with someone that it's right for you."
"Are you saying it was Vernon?"
"Hindi ba?"
"How can you say so?"
"I don't know. It's for you to say so."
Vernon's POV
"Well, let's say that, he gave me a lot of advices and wake me up from reality. You're asking why? Because I know It should be you. It should be you I choose even before. I was just get blinded because of Dan. And now, I got cured. And the cure was you."
Tears started on falling from my eyes. And for this moment, she is the one who wiped my tears away.
"Please don't cry. I don't know how many times you've cry because of me." she said and also tears started to escape from her.
"It's ok. Atleast you're now here, to wipe these tears away." I said and put my forehead onto hers.
"I'm sorry." she said
"You don't need to."
"But some says that you're a fool for waiting for me. Even if the truth is it's really me who is a fool, for not noticing you for a long time you're there for me."
"Some can call me fool from waiting for nothing. But how can I be fool if I'm waiting for my everything?" I said then she smiled.
I lifted her chin and kissed her at her lips. And I know from this moment, she knows that the man who's kissing her is me, not anyone else. Especially Dan.
"I love you, and since then, you're my sweetest thing."
