Chapter 635
Chapter 635
The two of them arrived and waited for Walter in separate rooms.
Contrasting Adeline's nervousness, Elisa remained calm and collected, confident that Walter would come to see her first.
Sure enough, Walter was brought over, and as soon as he laid eyes on Elisa, he wanted to reach out and hold her hand, but was stopped.
After Walter took his seat, he tried to put on a gentle fatherly act, smiling and greeting her, "Elisa, I knew you wouldn't ignore me."
But Elisa just gave him a half-smile, not saying a word.
Walter suddenly felt unsure and had to force a more pleasant smile, "Now, only you can help me. You know I would never do anything to betray the Garcia family. If you help me, everything from the Garcia family will be yours in the future."
"After all, it was your grandparents' wish."
Elisa sneered, cutting off his self-absorbed speech, "Do you still have the nerve to say it was your grandparents' wish?"
Walter awkwardly stopped, the loving facade faltering a bit, but he forced himself to smile awkwardly, "Elisa, are you still mad at me? I really didn't think things through back then, I didn't see Sierra's malicious intentions."
"Don't you feel disgusted?" Elisa shot back.
"What do you mean?" Walter sensed something was off, studying Elisa's expression.
Elisa met his gaze, her eyes cold, "Do you not find it disgusting now, saying these things? You don't really think I'm here to help you, do you?"
"Do you think I'm the kind of fool who would help count money after being sold?"
Walter's face immediately darkened, dryly replying, "Elisa, what are you saying? After all, I raised you for so many years."
"It wasn't you, it was my grandparents who raised me for so many years. They were the ones who truly cared for me, not scum like you." Elisa glared at him, her eyes filled with resentment and dissatisfaction.
Walter couldn't utter a word, staring at her in a daze, wanting to explain himself, but his lips trembled, showing only paleness and helplessness.
Elisa assessed him, "I came here today just to see how pitiful your situation has become, so my grandparents can finally rest in peace."
"And you don't think it was Sierra who ratted you out, do you?"
"Wasn't it?" Walter felt a sense of dread.
Elisa calmly responded, "Sierra's evidence should have just reached the police station."
Walter gazed at her in disbelief, his hands shaking.
Seeing his defeated expression, Elisa felt a sense of satisfaction, smiling as she added, "As a token of you seeing me first, I'll generously share another piece of news: Jade isn't pregnant."
"What?" Walter's eyes widened, completely caught off guard. "That can't be. I saw her pregnant with my own eyes."
"Jade took abortion pills back then. Ever wondered how she kept the baby? Those pills are potent; no one can withstand them. She even bled a lot." Elisa replied calmly.
Shocked and enraged, Walter muttered, "It's impossible. Jade insisted she was due to give birth, even asked me to name the child."
"What a shame." Elisa rose slowly, giving Walter a penetrating look. "Haven't you realized yet? You're not fit to be a parent."
As she left, Adeline hurried over, attempting to pry, "What did you two talk about?"
She was worried that Walter might have betrayed the Garcia family to Elisa in secret.
Seeing through her concerns, Elisa simply smiled, avoiding an answer, and exited the scene.
Growing more anxious, Adeline hurried to locate Walter.
Sure enough, Elisa later learned that Adeline stormed out of the police station in a fit of anger.
Howard promptly took Walter to court, accusing him of extortion, a charge that was easily substantiated.
Walter was on the brink of incarceration, with all his possessions being confiscated.
Before Adeline could act, she was ousted from the Garcia family, left with nothing.
Atlas sent Gray to a distant welfare institution.
Eventually, the ordeal concluded. On the day of Walter's sentencing, Elisa and Howard visited Dominic and Harper's graves.
Elisa touched the gravestone, releasing a long sigh, "I've finally secured justice for you. May you find a better life in your next existence."
Beside her, Howard shook his head, "So disrespectful. Who talks to their grandparents like that?"
Elisa grinned, "My grandparents wouldn't mind."
After paying their respects, she spotted Gabriel at the crossroads.
Locking eyes, Gabriel strode over swiftly, halting in front of the tombstone and bowing respectfully, "I'm here to bring Elisa home. Thank you for your years of hard work."
Placing some flowers, he turned away only after completing the ritual, pretending not to notice Elisa holding Howard's hand, saying, "Let's go, there's much to prepare."
Elisa kept a firm grip on Howard's hand, walking with him all the way to the car.
Unable to contain himself, Gabriel blurted out, "How long are you two gonna keep holding hands?"
"Gabriel, Howard and I are back together," Elisa seized the moment to reveal.
Gabriel closed his eyes in resignation. He had dodged this moment for so long, but now it was inevitable.
"We'll discuss this after the family reunion."
Realizing Gabriel's avoidance, Elisa pressed on, "We don't have to wait until then. Even after the reunion, the outcome won't change. This time, I'm serious, with remarriage as the goal."
Those words were like nails on a chalkboard to Gabriel, triggering a headache. Dealing with Elisa was no walk in the park.
Glancing at Howard, who remained silent but wore a smug expression, Gabriel's frustration peaked. He questioned Elisa sternly, "What's so special about Howard? Why did you divorce in the first place, only to split up again for the same reason?"
Elisa met his gaze seriously, "Howard is quite the looker."
Gabriel sighed. Was Elisa kidding him?
Clearing her throat, Elisa responded earnestly, "I was just teasing earlier. But he really is handsome. Our past separation was a misunderstanding. If we had followed our hearts, we wouldn't have parted ways."
Gabriel's expression darkened. "What did you do to her, Howard?"
Shrugging, Howard remarked, "Nothing. Maybe I'm just irresistible, and she couldn't resist."
Elisa promptly stepped on his foot, but it didn't wipe the grin off his face.
Taking a deep breath, Gabriel replied gravely, "Elisa, maybe you haven't met enough people yet. I'll introduce you to a variety of folks in the future, so you can see for yourself."
