Zane’s POV
I woke up with Zara laid over my chest pinning me down. I glanced over at the twins and gasped loudly causing Zara to wake up.
“What?” she grumbled
“We no longer have babies” I told her
“What are you talking about” she groaned as she rolled over and looked at the twins and screamed “What the hell”
“Mummy” Lachlan giggled
“Daddy” Isla cooed
“How and when?” Zara asked as he got up and walked over to the bassinets that were now way too small for our toddler sized babies.
“Bethany did say they would grow quickly, just think of how quickly the pregnancy went” I told her
“But they look like they are about two years old” She picked Lachlan up and he grinned at her.
“Put down” he told her as he pointed to the ground.
She did as he asked and laid him down, he then quickly sat up and stood himself up and waved at her “Walk now” he told her as he started to walk towards me
“Shit” I laughed “Looks like we have walking, talking toddlers now”
“Potty?” Isla asked as she pointed at the bathroom
“Seriously?” Zara sighed “I guess I will be giving all the nappies to Ivy then” she mumbled as she walked over and opened the bathroom door for Isla who walked straight over to the toilet and removed her nappy before climbing on the seat and starting to pee.
“I thought toilet training was supposed to be hard” I laughed as Lachlan removed his nappy and climbed on the toilet once Isla was done.
“This is too much” Zara groaned as she held Isla up so that she could wash her hands.
“Sorry” Isla sobbed “Mummy angry”
“I’m not angry” she sighed “It’s just a lot to take in, you guys were only born yesterday and now you are toilet trained, walking and talking”
“We knew they were going to grow quickly” I told her again
“I guess I just thought I would have a baby for a bit longer” she sighed as she placed Isla down and picked Lachlan up so he could wash his hands.
“Maybe the next baby we have will stay a baby for longer” I told her
“Really?” she laughed bitterly “As you all seem to think that all our babies will be gifted”
“Gifted does not mean that they will all grow rapidly” I told her as I walked over and pulled her into my arms “Just relax and enjoy what our kids can do”
“I know I should” she sighed “It was just a big shock to wake up and have kids that can walk, talk and take themselves to the toilet”
“Let’s get dressed and head down for breakfast” I suggested “And then we all get to leave the island for a bit and look at houses”
“With two toddlers” she sighed as she took both their hands and walked back into the bedroom. “Do we even have clothes that will fit them?” She picked up the jumpsuits that the twins had warn to bed that were now crumpled up in the bottom of the bassinet “They must have gotten out of them during the night”
“I will send Albert and Bethany to go and get some if you like, or we can wait till we get back to the mainland and go and buy them some clothes ourselves”
“Why can’t we quickly go and buy the outfits and then come back? It’s not like we need to worry about the hunters anymore, so we can go ourselves”
She was right and to be honest I liked the idea of us getting them an outfit for today ourselves. “Then let’s go take the twins to the others and then we can quickly go get them an outfit for today. We might as well hold off buying clothes until we know how big they are going to be each day” I chuckled “We don’t want to buy clothes to find that they never wear them”
“That is true” she sighed “We will need to get them underwear too since they no longer wear nappies. I hope that the others do not have issues with naked toddlers” she chuckled
“We stay here” Lachlan told us “You go, we will stay in room and behave”
“Will you be the same size when we get back?” Zara asked him
“Yes” he nodded “We grow at nighttime while we sleep”
“Ok” she sighed “We will be back soon” she did not look very happy about leaving them but walked over to the wardrobe and quickly got changed. “The sooner we go the sooner we can get back and get them dressed” she mumbled
“Ok” I nodded as I quickly got dressed and took her hand “We will be back very soon” I told the twins as I transported us to a kids clothing shop.
Zara ran into the shop and in less than two minutes she came back to me holding two outfits “Come pay so we can get back to our twins” she told he as she walked towards the counter.
“Sure” I chuckled “Did you get the underwear too?”
“Yep” she nodded as she waved two plastic packets in the air just before we reached the counter and she placed everything down “Now pay” she ordered as she stepped to the side.
“Yes dear” I chuckled as the sales lady bagged the outfits up and I swiped my card. As soon as the payment was approved Zara pulled me from the store and I took us back to our room.
“Now let’s get our twins changed so that they can surprise everyone else too” she snickered as she threw me an outfit before walking over to Isla and starting to get her changed.
“I guess I am helping to get you changed” I told Lachlan as I started to put the outfit on him.
“Thank you, daddy,” he grinned as he walked over to his sister and took her hand “Food now?” he asked
