Zara’s POV
I started to walk in the direction the guard had been walking from, hoping that I would find another guard. But I ended up walking all the way around the house and saw no one. Once I got back to where we started Albert, Bethany and Gerald came to join us.
“The guards are all dead” Albert chuckled “It looks like they only have the three and you and Zane took quick work of them”
“So, are we moving on to the house now?” I asked
“Yep” Zane chuckled behind me “How about you go and knock on the door”
I grinned at him as I walked away from them and up the front steps. I then raised my fist and knocked on the door. I heard someone rustling around before opening the door a fraction. That was all I needed as I kicked it all the way in and slammed my knife into the person’s eye. I pulled my blade out and kicked the person in the chest causing them to fall.
“Vampire whore” the guy growled while clutching a hand over his eye “You are stupid to come here, now all of you will fucking die”
“Na” Zane chuckled as he came up behind me
“If you are expecting the men in my cottage to come save you, we kind of went there first” Bethany told him.
“Now we are here to finish off you guys” Albert nodded as he crouched down in front of him and started to feed.
“I am wanting to feed too” Gerald grumbled as he walked past us and further into the house.
“Poor Gerald” I cooed as I followed close behind.
We found the rest of the hunters sat in the lounge and they were all just laid back and chilling.
“Who was it Duke” one of them called out.
“Duke is unavailable right now” Zane told them as he walked fully into the room.
“Fuck” Dennis yelled as he bolted from the chair he was sitting in.
“Dennis” I tutted as I walked in and stood beside Zane “You tricked me and sold my blood, and to make it worse you sold it as a fucking date rape drug”
“And now you are with a fucking vampire” he growled “How did that even happen as last I heard you died in jail”
“Nope” she grinned “I was sent to a place where I had to fight for my life”
“And she won” Gerald told him “And while winning drew the attention of Zane who fell in love with her”
“I thought you were a fucking lesbo” Dennis snickered “As I tried to fuck you so many times and you shut me down every fucking time, but that bitch Ivy told me you were straight”
“What the fuck did you just call Ivy” Gerald growled as he grabbed him by the throat and lifted him into the air.
“Let him go” one of the other men growled as he pointed a gun at Gerald
“Don’t kill him” I reminded Gerald as I pulled out my own gun and shot the guy who was holding the gun in the hand. He dropped the gun while cursing at me.
“Snack time” Gerald snickered as he threw Dennis against a wall where he landed with a loud thud and looked to be out cold.
“I will take Dennis and make sure he is secure” Albert told us as he walked over to him before throwing him over his shoulder and leaving.
“Where are you taking him?” a guy stammered as he started to back away from us.
“To join your other friends who have been disappearing” I told him, “Did you not wonder where they went?”
“We thought you killed them”
“Not yet” Zane chuckled “They are being held in cells, then we will have a nice big hunt with a few of my other vampire friends”
“We have been feeding them when we remember though” Gerald told him as he walked over “I am sure that Albert will not mind taking you to them if you want”
“What is the other option?” he stammered
“Death” I told him as I noticed that the other three guys were trying to sneak away. “Where do you think, you are going to go?” I laughed “We are in the middle of nowhere and my friends here can move much quickly than you”
They all froze and then the men and Bethany moved as one to grab the guys who were trying to escape leaving me with the guy I was just talking to.
“Albert should be back soon if you want to go back with him to see your friends” I asked him
“I don’t want to die” he sobbed as he heard his friends start to scream
“You really should have thought about that before you started to work with Dennis” I told him “Did you honestly think that it was a good idea to steal my blood and sell it on the black market as a fucking date rape drug? What kind of fucking monster are you”
“It made us a lot of money” he sobbed “I got blinded by greed”
“And that is why you are going to die” I sighed as I pulled out my gun “But since you seem to be showing some remorse, I will show some mercy and make it quick” before he had time to say anything else I pulled the trigger and put a bullet between his eyes.
I looked over at the others and saw that all the hunters were now dead.
“That was easy” I grinned as I checked the time “And look at that, we still have time before dinner”
“I want to check over the place before we leave” Gerald told us “I want to look through all their computers to make sure this is the last of them”
“You think they might be more?” I gasped “But we have Dennis and he is their leader”
“We think he is their leader” Zane corrected “I am with Gerald and we need to go through their computers to check”
