Chapter 144 I Deserve Punishment!

Chapter 144 I Deserve Punishment!

Evelyn

“Shall we go?”

I nodded with a smile, feeling comfortable and warm beside Adrian, but he added coldly as he looked around.

“If anyone looks at your body... I’ll rip their eyes out.”

“My God, Adrian... I’m not the only woman here, there are many women!” I laughed as I looked at the people around us.

“Tch... You call those women? You’re the most beautiful among them.” He said sarcastically, his eyes never leaving me for a moment.

I laughed hard as he held my hand and we walked together along the wooden walkway of the harbor. My smile faded when I remembered something important.

“What am I going to tell Marcus? Damn it... I’m not even good at lying!” I said nervously, biting my lower lip.

Adrian looked at me slyly as he squeezed my hand.

“Tell him you wanted to stay alone because you were having a bad day... while you were fucking his friend underwater.”

My cheeks turned bright red and I lightly hit his arm.

“Adrian, don’t mess with me!” I laughed, feeling embarrassed by his bold words.

“What? I’m not...” He said with fake innocence, raising his hands as if surrendering.

I laughed while everyone looked at us and smiled, as if they could feel the happiness overflowing between us. We got off the yacht, and Adrian helped me down gently, holding my hand like a princess.

“My feminine queen.” He whispered as he looked at me with admiration.

“Stop, Adrian!” I laughed, feeling shy from the looks of the people around us.

We moved a little away from the yacht, and Adrian spoke to one of the servants in a quick language, ordering him to clean the yacht well and telling him about the scattered glass that needed special care. I stood waiting for him from a distance, feeling strange as I watched the servants bow to him with great respect.

Why do they respect someone like Adrian this way? I wondered to myself. This is very strange... He’s just a young man at the university, but they treat him like a king.

There were so many questions in my head, but there was no clear answer. While I waited, I noticed one of the servants looking at me with obvious admiration, his eyes moving over my body without shame. Adrian noticed it too, so he walked toward the servant with steady steps, his face hard.

“Beautiful, isn’t she?” He asked in a cold voice, as if he were playing with his prey.

The servant was already dazed and didn’t realize that Adrian was the one speaking to him, his eyes still fixed on me.

“Very...” He whispered in a daze as he swallowed.

“How about you bring me your mother so I can make one like her for you? It’ll be a unique experience!” He said with deadly coldness, his eyes narrowing in warning.

The servant looked at him and widened his eyes in terror, bowing deeply as he trembled with fear.

“Sir... I didn’t notice you... Believe me, I didn’t look at her on purpose... I deserve punishment!” He said nervously, not lifting his eyes from the ground.

Adrian looked at him with a dangerous gaze, the muscles of his face tense as if he were deciding the poor man’s fate.

“How dare you look at my woman and what belongs to me? What am I going to do with you now?”

He was trembling with fear, his eyes filled with tears as he waited for the punishment he could not escape.

At that moment, I came and suddenly took Adrian’s hand, and he looked directly at me. The anger disappeared from his face like magic, and he smiled at me as if he wasn’t the one who had been ready to kill that servant with his eyes seconds ago. It was a strange split in his personality, as if two different people lived in one body.

“Adrian, what’s wrong? I’ve been waiting for you for a while... My legs are tired!” I said with a frown as I looked at my swollen feet.

That caught his attention at once, and his expression changed to concern and tenderness.

“Are you tired, sweetheart?” He asked gently as he touched my waist.

“Yes, look at my legs. They can’t stand for long, and you’re standing here talking to this man... This is bad!” I said with a frown, puffing my cheeks like a child.

Adrian laughed, and I laughed with him. He held me by the waist, then looked at the servant with sharp eyes, making the servant lower his eyes nervously while still trembling.

“Let’s go, my sky... There’s something here bothering me, and I badly want to rip it out by the roots. If I stay here for another moment, I’ll lose control.”

I was surprised by his words but said nothing. I could feel the tension in his body beneath my hand, as if he were struggling to keep his anger under control.

“Okay, let’s go, let’s go.”

I held his hand as we walked along the beach, which was somewhat empty of people at this late hour of the night. The cool sea breeze touched our faces, and the quiet sound of the waves created an atmosphere of romance and peace.

“Are you happy?” He asked as he looked at the ocean.

“Very much, Adrian.” I said happily, feeling indescribable comfort beside him.

I moved toward the sea and splashed him with water while laughing loudly, droplets scattering over our clothes.

“Catch me if you can!”

He watched me as I ran along the beach, my body moving gracefully, my hair flying in the wind. He ran after me while laughing, as if all the worries in the world had disappeared in this moment.

“Try to run away, because if I catch you, you’ll be punished!”

I ran faster while laughing, and he ran after me until he caught me by the waist. I laughed loudly as we stood together on the soft sand.

“I caught you!”

“That’s not fair... You’re athletic and I’m not!” I laughed, panting from running.

I turned and looked at him. He was holding me by the waist and looking at me, breathing heavily because he had been running, and I was also breathing hard. He looked at me in a daze, as if he were lost in the innocent, childish features of my face that didn’t match my real age.

“Do you know why I love this beauty of yours?” He asked in a low voice, his eyes moving over my face.

I shook my head as I looked at him and his lips, my heart beating fast from running and from being so close to him.

“Because it’s childish beauty... You have childish features, Evelyn... Even though you’re a woman, that drives me to the edge.” He said in a daze, as if he were fighting himself so he wouldn’t lose control.

I smiled and felt very shy as I looked at him. I forgot that I was a woman when I was with him, as if I were returning to my early teenage years.

“Tell me you want me the way I do... Tell me you’re crazy about me the way I am... Tell me I’m yours and you won’t leave me no matter what happens...” He said anxiously, his eyes searching mine for an answer that would reassure him.

I felt strange about his worry, as if a deep fear were hiding behind his words. I held him around the neck while he held me by the waist. He closed his eyes as if I were both his illness and his cure, still unable to believe he had found me in this wide world.

“I do, Adrian... I’m crazy about you too, and I want you too... I won’t leave you no matter what happens... We’ll stay together and prove that there are no rules in relationships... How could I leave you when I see you in my dreams?” I said tenderly as I touched his face with my trembling fingers.

He looked at me and a faint smile appeared on his face, his heart beating hard at those words that echoed in his ears like a beautiful song. He kissed my lips tenderly and passionately, while most of the tourists looked at us kindly and smiled at our sweetness and obvious love.

Adrian ended the kiss as he gently touched the side of my face, his eyes covering mine. I looked around shyly and saw people smiling at us.

“We’re in front of people, Adrian!” I said shyly as I hid my face in his chest.

“I want to tell everyone that you’re mine.” He whispered as he pulled me tightly against him.

I smiled widely at his words, feeling a sense of belonging and safety in his arms. He held my hand while I was lost in thought about everything that had happened, as if I were living a dream I didn’t want to wake from.

“What are you thinking about? Marcus again? Tell him just like I told you!” He said as he looked at me challengingly.

I looked at him nervously. “But we disappeared at the same time... He’d be stupid if he didn’t suspect something!”

“Evelyn... Marcus really is stupid... because he hasn’t suspected anything yet!” He said coldly, shrugging his shoulders.

I stood looking at him with my hands on my waist in defiance.

“Heyyy... Are you making fun of my son?” I said with a frown, puffing my cheeks.

“I’m not... It’s the truth.” He laughed as he looked at me lovingly.

“My son is smart, not stupid... He suspected before too, he’s just confused and needs solid proof.” I said confidently as I defended my son.

“So if he finds out... what will your reaction be?” He asked as he looked at me with genuine curiosity.

I fell silent and thought about it. I really didn’t know how I would react if Marcus learned the truth. Adrian stood, and I stood too because he was holding my hand, his gaze becoming serious. I turned to him, looking strangely at his piercing eyes.

“What is it?” I asked as I tried to read what was going through his mind.

“You didn’t answer... What will your reaction be?”

I sighed and lowered my head for a moment, before lifting my eyes to him.

“I don’t know, Adrian... I only have Marcus, I.”

Adrian cut me off quickly, as if my words had struck him like arrows.

“Evelyn... What about me? Don’t I mean anything to you? Was everything you said a moment ago just words or what?” He said sadly, his eyes losing their brightness.

“Adrian, don’t misunderstand me... You mean so much to me!” I said worriedly, feeling his tension passing to me.

He let go of my hand suddenly, feeling deeply sad. His gaze was full of sadness, as if he had suffered a great disappointment and anger at the same time. I felt as if I had lost something precious, and I saw a deep pain in his eyes that tore at my heart.

Sometimes he was intensely jealous of Marcus, as if he were afraid of competing with a son for his mother’s love.

“You’re going to leave me... I know.” He said sadly as he looked away from me.

I stepped toward him and cupped his face with concern, feeling my heart breaking from the sadness in his eyes.

“What are you saying, Adrian... How could I leave you?”

“You’re afraid.” He said anxiously, his eyes searching mine for reassurance.

“I won’t leave you, Adrian... Believe me, I won’t... I won’t... Don’t misunderstand me.” I said anxiously, feeling desperate to convince him.

He lowered my hands from his face while looking only at me. I was surprised by his sudden cold reaction. It felt as if he were building a wall between us, moving away from me even though I had been in his arms only moments ago.

“Just go, Evelyn.”

“Adrian, don’t be angry with me... I didn’t even say anything!” I shouted loudly, feeling panicked by his exaggerated reaction.

He looked at me with sad eyes, as if all the pain in the world were dripping from them.

“I know you’ll leave me at the first problem... I know you’re afraid of Marcus’s reaction... I know you’ll give up on me at the first chance.”

I cupped Adrian’s face and moved closer to him, feeling like knives were entering my heart from his words. He looked deeply sad, like a frightened child searching for his mother’s embrace. I pressed against him while he unconsciously held my waist, as if his body remembered me even when he wanted to pull away.

“Don’t do this, Adrian... Please... We were fine a moment ago... What happened to you all of a sudden!?” I asked worriedly as I touched his darkened face.

“I’m just scared, Evelyn... Very scared!” He said anxiously, his voice almost choking with overwhelming emotions.

“Adrian... I won’t leave you even if Marcus finds out... I—”

A familiar voice from behind us cut me off, a voice we hadn’t noticed until now. We turned quickly to find Marcus standing behind us, his eyes wide open and his face pale from shock.

“What did you discover, Mom?...” He asked in shock, his voice trembling as if he were hearing words he didn’t want to believe.
