Chapter 141 Calm Down. It’s Okay, It’s Not a Big Deal.

Marcus

Flashback

I sat there lost in thought, thinking about the day I met her. I was going to the grocery store to buy some things for my mother, and my eyes were busy with my phone when a Range Rover suddenly came out and almost hit me. I fell hard on my butt, scraped my elbow badly, and it hurt a lot.

“Ah, damn, are you blind???” I shouted angrily.

A beautiful woman got out of the car. She was wearing high heels and a long white dress, and her face showed deep concern.

“Are you okay? I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to do that, believe me!” she said in a trembling voice.

I was stunned as I looked at her. She was incredibly beautiful, as if she had stepped out of a Hollywood movie. She helped me stand, and despite her height with the heels, I was still taller than her.

“Please come with me so we can go to the hospital...” she said worriedly.

“I... I’m fine,” I said blankly, unable to take my eyes off her face.

“You don’t look fine!” she insisted. “Your elbow is bleeding, and it looks like you’re badly hurt. God, I’m so sorry.”

“I’m fine... don’t worry, it’s just a small wound,” I said gently, trying to calm her fear.

She grabbed my arm tightly. “Please come with me to the hospital! Please!”

“Okay, calm down. It’s okay, it’s not a big deal.”

She was trembling as she led me to the car, as if she was about to cry. I got into the back seat while she hurried to the driver’s seat.

“Ma’am, why are you trembling?” I asked, looking at her.

“I just didn’t pay attention and I almost killed you,” she said in a broken voice. “I...”

I gently took her hand, and she looked at me in surprise.

“Breathe... don’t panic. I’m fine, we’ll go to the hospital and nothing will happen.”

“What about the police? And your family? God, I’m such an idiot.” Tears were almost falling from her eyes.

“Don’t worry, I won’t say a word!” I said confidently.

She looked at me in confusion. “What do you want in return? I mean, in exchange for your silence?”

“Nothing...” I smiled, and her surprise was clear on her face.

She started the car and drove, and her phone suddenly rang. She answered quickly.

“No, I’ll be a little late... Okay, goodbye.” She ended the call while continuing to drive.

I looked at her from the corner of my eye. She was unbelievably stunning, and her perfume filled the car. She sat straight and elegantly, her face flawless, and her long black hair flowed over her shoulders like silk.

“Don’t drive so fast, I’m afraid of high speeds,” I said, feeling scared of her speed.

“Sorry, I’m just extremely nervous,” she said as she slowed down a little.

“Don’t be nervous, I’m really fine.”

Silence filled the car until we reached a large, luxurious hospital. I opened my mouth in surprise.

“What, am I going to treat my wound here?”

“Yes, come on.” She smiled. “The hospital belongs to my family.”

“Wow, you look really rich.” I laughed. “I envy you! By the way, my name is Marcus.”

The woman laughed loudly at my words, and everyone bowed to her as we walked. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Marcus.”

I felt uncomfortable with how formal she was, so I interrupted her.

“Just Marcus, please.”

She nodded with a smile, then turned to the nurse who had come to greet her.

“I need the doctor. I want him to examine his hand.”

“Of course, ma’am. Please go to his office. He’ll be there right away.”

She took my hand, and everyone looked at us curiously. I whispered to her, “What’s wrong with them? Why are they looking at me?”

“They must be wondering who you are... Come on, let’s go.”

We entered the elevator. The hospital was unbelievably luxurious, everything here shone.

“Wow, this hospital isn’t like a public hospital. Everything shines here,” I said in amazement.

“It’s a private hospital.”

“Wow...”

At that moment, my phone rang. It was my mother on the other end.

“Marcus, I’m sorry, I’m late.”

“Mom, I’m sorry I’m late.”

She asked in annoyance, “What’s going on? I sent you to buy me some things, and you haven’t come back...”

“Sorry, Mom, something came up and I ran into an old friend.” I lied, feeling guilty. “Please don’t be angry with me. I’ll be there right away, I’ll just be a little late.”

“Okay, son, don’t be any later.”

I ended the call, and the woman looked at me with concern.

“I’m sorry, your mother must have yelled at you because of me.”

“No... she’s always like that, but she’s kind.”

“Let’s go inside. Come with me.”
