Jesse’s Secret

Jesse’s Secret
Jesse sat in his car which he had parked at the side of the road, his eyes were red and the hand that held his phone tightened. The more he listened to the other person on the phone, the more aggrieved he became.

“My parents asked about you. They asked when I was going to return to work and I lied to them that I was working on a new music score but they kept asking where you are and also threatened to fire you from your  job.” Jesse said with his lips pursed.

“Why act like you don't know what is going on? Do you think I also don't wish to come back? I’m stuck here and they won't let me go back to the country! Darn those bastards!” The voice on the other end of the call cursed loudly which made Jesse flinch, but then, his expression changed as he felt sympathy for him.

His fingers pinched and clenched the wheels of his car until his veins popped out, “I’m sorry…It's my fault that I still haven't found a solution, but—” He paused, gritting his teeth so hard that the other person on the phone could imagine how angry Jesse was.

“…Nathan has been so pissed off about the ring and he had been acting strangely, I had suspected that he had someone else but his words proved otherwise.” Jesse finished complaining frustratedly.

“What?! Pissed off about a ring? I thought he was rich, so why be petty about something so little? If I had money, I would do more than that for you and wouldn't even bother about you losing it a hundred times, because you deserve it!”

Jesse’s face brightened up immediately, his heart pounded and his eyes shone with love and excitement, “Dave~” He called out so mushily and gently making Dave who was on the other end burst out in laughter.

Hearing his laughter made Jesse shy as he couldn't help but remember the memories between them. He pursed his lips and even grew determined to do whatever he could to bring Dave home faster, but he recalled something.

He furrowed his brows, “Dave? I think you made a mistake, according to Nathan, the ring wasn’t just any ordinary ring, but a family heirloom, and this is the reason why he was pissed.” Jesse explained further.

“Oh…A family heirloom, but still—” Dave paused, then widened his eyes in shock, “What do you mean by family heirloom?! He fucking proposed with an heirloom?!” He was shocked.

Jesse let out a sigh that said he was right. The line went silent for a few seconds, then a roar was heard.

“We fucking sold a family Heirloom for just 10,000 dollars?! Darn it! Why the hell didn't he let you know, and why didn't you ask him?!”

Jesse was taken aback by his roars, he placed the phone far away from his ear and only when he had calmed himself down did he return the phone.

“Well, he never told me and I was shocked too.” Jesse defended indifferently.

The line went in silence again, and only after a while when Jesse couldn't take it anymore did Dave speak up.

“We need to get the ring back or get the buyer to give us more money!”  he said with determination, then as if he remembered something, he took a deep breath and turned gentle again.

“You know how much I love you, Jeese? I'm scared to stay here longer and I miss you.” He said then chuckled.

Jesse felt stifled in his heart, he wished he could get the money and pay those people back, so they could free Dave. He knew those people were dangerous and even if Dave didn't tell him how much he suffered, Jesse would always know when he was in pain.

He looked out of the window, then curled his fist as determination flashed through his eyes.

“Don't worry, Dave, I’ll make sure I get money and take you out of there.

Jesse stopped the car in front of Nathan’s home, climbed down from the car and walked into the house after keying the passcode.

He smiled as he knew Nathan wasn't home, and he had prepared a lot for this.

Before all this had happened, he would always apologise to Nathan with Sex whenever he got him angry and this had always worked.

He believed that, after a night of intimacy, things would go back to the way it was before all this.

In his heart though, he apologised to Dave, but he knew Dave wouldn't be angry because he was doing it all for those people to let him go.

Jesse smiled then walked up the stairs towards the familiar room. He had always come here and Nathan had even kept some of his clothes in his room and it seems he would make use of it.

He walked into the room and noticed that it was still the same except for a white fluffy pillow which wasn't there before but Jesse only furrowed his brow in confusion but didn't think too much.

He began to unbutton his shirt as he walked to the washroom.

After he walked to the bathroom, he stood under the shower and did his thing, then shaved when he was done before moving to where the brushes were so he could brush his teeth, but—

“White toothbrush? Why would a white toothbrush be here when Nathan had always used Blue?” He muttered in confusion as he looked at the white toothbrush in his hand, but then, he dropped it again and took a new one.

As he looked at the mirror while brushing, his mind suddenly flashed to the white pillow he had seen on the bed.

Jesse froze.

His eyes widened, and something clicked in his brain. Without washing the foam off his mouth, he ran out of the washroom back to the bedroom.

He took the pillow and pressed it under his nose, “This is not his scent…” He muttered under his breath then with the same urgent steps, he ran to the closet and pushed it open.

He ran around the corset but all he saw was Nathan’s things and also some of his own.

He furrowed his brows, “Am I

Just being paranoid?” He whispered suspiciously, then sighed and turned to leave when his eyes met the bin…

“Is that—”
