Nath’s Obsessed with me!

Nath’s Obsessed with me!
The night before had been an exciting one for the Hart Family. Their son and eldest young master was back and thus was the best news they had received since the month began.

The morning sun shone into the room of Jesse, and onto his sleeping face. He woke up grungely and looked towards the open window with annoyance clearly written on his face.

Who had dared to open his window?!

He cussed viciously in his heart then hit the bed with his hand before sitting up. He had eye bags under his eyes and it became obvious with his furrowed brows.

“Arrghh!” He groaned, picked up the pillow and threw it on the floor before burying his head in his palms.

Everyone knows he hates waking up early, besides, he hadn't been able to sleep for the past weeks since he made that dangerous decision, it was from one problem to another but looking at his well arranged and wide room, he smiled and the frustration of waking up this early vanished.

After 2 hours of wandering around his room, taking time to wash up and shave everywhere, he climbed down the stairs and realised that his whole family was waiting for him at the dining table.

A smile bloomed on Jesse’s face as he rushed down the stairs..

“Grandpa! Dad! Mum!” He called out excitedly as he rushed towards grandpa who had his heart in his throat seeing him run down the stairs.

“Oh my! Jesse, be careful not to fall!” He called out in his elderly voice then hugged his grandson whom he had missed and worried for.

He hugged his parents after letting go of his grandpa and just like yesterday when he came back, his mother began crying again, hugging him tighter and not letting go.

It was only after he had consoled her and reassured her that she let him go.

The family sat down to eat, but then, Jesse suddenly paused and frowned.

“Mother, didn't you call Evans to tell him I arrived? Why is he not here with us?” He asked with a gentle voice.

The room turned silent, and Mrs Hart who was cleaning her utensil paused, then she let out a sigh of frustration.

“We didn't call him. Like, why should we call him to come home? To make us angry? You know how your brother has always been, always causing trouble for us and not listening to us.” She gritted her teeth as she thought of her youngest son, “Argghh..! Just thinking of him makes me angry!” She groaned then slammed the spoon on the table.

Mr.Hart patted her back gently to calm her down, “Don't think about it anymore. Thinking about it will make you angry.”

After calming his wife, he turned to his most proud son and shook his head, "Don't talk about your younger brother for now. That boy has gotten bolder and has turned into something else.” He said, then picked up his spoon again.

Jesse sat there in confusion, he looked at his family cold and indifferent faces when they talked about Evans.

His lips twitched, but then his face turned solemn and sad as he pursed his lips, though he didn't say a word, the aura around him changed and the usual joyful light dim making people who were around him feel suffocated.

Grandpa sighed and dropped his spoon on his plate, before looking at him with a look of indulgence, “Drop that sulky look of yours. Tell grandpa what you want.” He said.

“Grandpa, Mum and Dad. I have always told you we should be one big family. I know Evans can be annoying, stubborn and manipulative sometimes, but he needs love. He’s your son and grandson and you should try to indulge him as he wants and stop getting angry at him. I miss my little brother…”He said, then puckered his lips in pity.

The elders became silent as their eyes that looked at their beloved son became brighter.

This was their son, kind, handsome, talented and had the soul of an angel.

“You’ve always been kind, Jesse. But I'm glad you know about your brother’s bad behaviour which he got from that old nanny. He should be taught a lesson and if he doesn't, he won't learn! If you want the best for your brother, then don't complain!” His father warned sternly.

Jesse widened his eyes, but nodded his head with a pitiful sigh, “I understand Father. This is for his good. But he should still be called home for dinner.”

The parents agreed to his request and finally they could have a good breakfast.

During breakfast, Jesse kept on checking his phone, but would always sigh disappointedly, and that was until he was noticed.

“Son, are you expecting someone? You seem anxious.” Mrs. Hart said.

Jesse bit his lips then looked at his mother with a face that looked like he was holding back his pain which made her heart skip a beat from fear.

“Mother!” He called, “Nath wouldn't pick up my calls or respond to my messages after he had dropped me home yesterday!” He responded anxiously.

The people at the table pause their meal. They all turned to look at Jesse in disbelief.

“What?! Why? I thought you said he was the one who had picked you up from the airport, so, I thought you both were okay, so what's going on?!” His father asked anxiously.

Nathan was their biggest investor and they couldn't lose him.

Jesse became more worried after their words, “I don't know, Father.” He groaned after his words.

“It's all your fault! If you hadn't left without a word, all this wouldn't have happened! Besides, you still haven't told us where you were and why you left?! What happened?!” His father burst out.

Jesse looked at his father, not surprised at his reaction. He had always known that in the face of benefits, his father would do anything.

He secretly sneered, but his face remained sad and anxious, “Father…I—” He paused then swallowed, “I really am not ready to divulge what I had gone through but just know it wasn't easy for me. I didn't mean to make him or any of you sad or disappointed..” He choked as he talked, making the heart of his family ache.

His mother immediately stood up to hug him and at the same time glared at her husband who had made their son cry.

“Okay, okay! Stop crying…” His father consoled.

Grandpa then furrowed his brow, “Do you think Nathan already has someone else?”

Everyone turned to look at Grandpa in shock.

Jesse's head shook as he sat up, “Impossible! Nathan? With someone else?” He then laughed proudly, “That one highly impossible situation, grandpa.” He said then sat down again relaxingly.

“Have you forgotten he has engaged me by giving me a ring? Besides,” He smirked, then continued, “Nathan is not just in love with me, he’s obsessed with me, and even if I leave for 10 years, he would still be here waiting for me. That's just how much he loves me.”

The family was surprised at his words, but looking at their son’s confident face and remembering how Nathan had always treated him like his most precious, they believed he was telling the truth.

They heaved a sigh of relief and continued their meal.

“So, what would you do now?” Mrs Hart asked.

Jesse picked up his spoon to continue eating with poise.

“I will be going to his office for a visit soon. He’s just angry and with just some apology, everything will be settled.”
