Evans walked around without knowing where to go. He continued to wander around until it was dark and cold and that was when he realised he had unknowingly walked to the house he and Nathan shared.
He looked at the large gate which was closed in a daze but he couldn't point out what he was thinking about, he just stood there like a lost child and after a while, his head bowed and he turned around to leave but the sound of a car horn stopped him.
He looked up but immediately covered his eyes with his hand as a frown appeared on his face because of the blinding light from the car.
After a while, the light dimmed and he could finally put down his hand, he looked up and saw the car which had stopped for a while continued driving in like the person inside didn't know him.
Evans, who knew it was Nathan inside the car, choked on his saliva. He was speechless as he had thought he would come down from the car to scold him or even make a joke of him for coming here but the indifference hurt more.
He pursed his lips and turned around even if he didn't want to but he didn't expect to collide with a strong chest.
“Owww!”
He groaned in pain as he immediately rubbed his nose which had turned red.
“Why’re you here?”
Nathan’s calm voice sounded and now, Evans knew he couldn't avoid him anymore. He raised his head and sniffed a little to stop the aches then parted his lips, “I should be asking you that…” He said, sneered and tilted his head to check if the car which had just passed him had entered the Villa before returning his gaze on Nathan and teasing with a raised brow, “What? I thought you were still angry?”
Nathan looked at Evans who acted like there hadn't been an argument between them, like he hadn't ignored him for days and stayed in the hospital like he, Nathan didn't exist.
He couldn't help but feel angry as he looked at the face of the young man.
He had been surprised when his driver had told him Evans was standing in front of his home, he couldn't believe it at first until the car light flashed on his face. He had been stunned at first, but then chuckled in annoyance before telling the driver to drive off.
He didn't want to care about the heartless guy, since he had the guts to act like he did, then there was no need for him to care about Evans again but he didn't know when he asked the driver to stop the car and allow him to come down.
They both stood in silence after Evans’ words. It was so silent that Evans felt uncomfortable as he wasn't used to the silence.
“Why—Why’re you looking at me this way?” He asked and shifted uncomfortably. His heart drummed in his chest and his face blushed from shyness.
Nathan’s gaze was so intense and filled with so much fire that it almost burned Evans.
Nathan raised an eyebrow then chuckled but it didn't sound joyful but more dark and dangerous that which made Evans tremble. He clenched his fist and stole a glance at the taller man’s face but what he saw made him speechless.
Nathan's face was so dark that it looked like he could beat Evans up which made Evans shiver and rub his arms in goosebumps.
“You think you can stay out for days and then come back like nothing happened?! Does this place look like a place you can go and come as you like?!” Nathan scolded as he pointed at Evans’ nose angrily.
His words pissed the easily angered Evans. It was not his fault for getting angry and it should be Nathan who should check his past words and attitude.
How would you feel being referred to as “Brother” by a man that fucked you every night?
Just the thought of it ignited the fire in the pit of his stomach as he raised his head and glared at the taller man in anger.
“So what?! I never said I was coming to your house and you were the one who had assumed things!” He yelled, then took a deep breath to contain his rage but everything just spiked up more and couldn't be contained. “Why don't you let me go in and pack my things if you don't want to see me anymore!” He finally yelled the rest of the word and bypassed the speechless Nathan and walked into his house without looking back once.
He marched angrily into the house, his footsteps echoed loudly and it was so obvious he was pissed.
He opened the door to the room and pulled out his bag, then dragged it to the wardrobe to put in his clothes.
“Meow~” The sound of a cat meowing sounded which jolted Evans, he turned around in search of what was meowing and saw the cat he had adopted walking towards him in stumbles.
He couldn't help but want to laugh as he looked at the dopey eyes of the cat if he was asking where Evans had been for the past few days.
Evans knelt on the ground to pet the cute cat. “Sorry. I brought you back but didn't have the time to take care of you, and…” He paused and pursed his lips sadly, “I would be leaving you here until I’m capable enough to rent an apartment of my own. But for now, stay here with Nathan, he might be a jerk but he’s nice.” He gritted his teeth as he said the last words if it was too heavy for him to say.
After petting the cat, he stood up to continue packing, and the cat never left his side.
After some minutes or so, he dragged his bag out of the room and walked down the stairs. As he walked down, his eyes collided with the view of Nathan’s back.
Nathan sat on the couch with a laptop on the table as he typed away. His fingers moved so fast like he had done this since he was born which amazed Evans.
After admiring the view of the man’s long fingers, he cleared his throat and shifted his eyes before pulling his bag along with him as he walked the remaining stairs, and without looking at the man who sat on the couch, he dragged his bag with him and walked towards the door.
“Stop right there!”
Nathan’s voice ordered which stiffened Evans. He stood there with a confused look, but it
Was replaced with a stubborn look, as he raised his legs to continue walking away but the next words stopped him..
“Why don't you check this out first, then decide if you want to move?”
