Chapter 91 LET'S MAKE A DEAL
Drexton sat on the floor, eyes on his parents' grave. He hasn't said a thing. He had rebuilt their graves and made them with diamonds. But no matter what he felt, he didn't help them.
They suffered until their death, and at times, he blames himself for their death.
He should have run away, and they would have no choice but to leave the Castellan house.
He shouldn't have stayed.
Why didn't he think of it back then?
He couldn't fulfill any of the promises he made to them. He promised to get money and take them out of the house, but he let them die before he could make the money.
His father made sure he didn't have to suffer to make money, and he couldn't do anything. He could have saved them one way or the other.
His mother's smile was always the reason why he stayed in their house. The reason why he didn't think of running away.
His mum died and took away those smiles. His dad, who used to give him courage, left, and the only thing that gave him reason to make it in life was his quest for revenge.
"Mum, Dad, I lost my cool today," he muttered. "He shouldn't have said all that."
He lay on the ground, facing the night sky, the stars shining as brightly as ever.
This place gives him peace, and he feels at ease whenever he comes there.
At times, he ends up sleeping; other times, he stays for hours and leaves.
He closed his eyes, thinking about Joanna's secret.
Not like he hadn't been suspecting it. He saw the striking resemblance between Blake and her. Not as if they wouldn't take the truth or break their relationship with her. After all, she's their doctor before anything else.
"Drexton," a soft voice whispered.
The same one that has been haunting him. Ixora.
"Are you okay?" she asked, sitting down beside him.
"You knew, right?" he asked without opening his eyes.
Ixora nodded as if he could see her. "Joanna made me promise her that I wouldn't tell anyone. I found out before we went to Sicily."
"How did you find me?"
"Jaxon told me."
Drexton didn't say anything again.
"Are you angry?" she whispered, and he remained silent.
She shifted her gaze and saw his parents' grave.
"I'm sorry for their death," she mumbled.
"Hey, aunt, uncle," she waved. "How are you doing up there? Sorry for what Blake said about you. He feels the world is unfavorable to him, but I promise you, he's a nice guy."
"I'm finally understanding the reason why Drexton is how he is. I'm sure you must be proud of your son. He might not be the nicest man on earth, but he's good to some people. He can pretend not to have a heart, but I know when he values somebody, it's deep. Talk to him, Aunt, help him heal his wounds. He should be happy; everyone deserves happiness." She concluded and turned to see Drexton staring at her.
"What?" she asked. "Did I say something wrong?"
He dragged her hand and made her lie beside him.
"I have a heart?" he asked.
"Of course, you do. Everyone does. Should I show you?"
Drexton didn't reply, and she took it as a yes.
She took her finger and gently placed it on his chest.
"It's beating fast," she mumbled.
She placed her head on his chest and listened to his fast beating heart.
"Really fast."
Drexton's eyes didn't leave her face.
Right now, he could feel her not too much like the pool, but better.
"Lie down, let's watch the stars," he said, and kept his hand beneath her.
She lay on it, looking at the stars.
"They are beautiful," she mumbled.
Drexton hummed, caressing her earlobe softly.
\[BLAKE'S HOUSE\]
Audrey returned alone since Blake insisted on needing some alone time. The strong smell of alcohol hit her nose.
She went to the cellar to see the bottles on the table and the floor.
She needed no one to tell her it was Skye.
His head was on the table, and she could hear some muffled cry.
Right, she had forgotten he had found out about his girlfriend, and she had no time to console him, since she also found out about her mother's whereabouts.
"Skye." She went to him.
He raised his head, and she saw his eyes red-brimmed with tears.
If it were a day she was herself, she'd have teased the hell out of him. But today she wasn't feeling herself.
In fact, no one was. Everybody had one thing or the other to ruin their day.
"Today is such a bad day," she mumbled. "Get up, I'll take you to your room."
"A... Audrey, I'm not drunk. I'm just heartbroken. I... I can stand on my own." His head kept falling sideways as he stood.
He wanted to fall, but Audrey held him just in time.
"You are so wasted. Stay in one place and I'll help you." She hung his arm around her neck.
"So, you can break me again. Why did you have to show me the truth?" he cried. "It would have been better if I... I didn't know. I — I feel so used right now, and..." he slurred, barely keeping his eyes open.
"Keep quiet," she said, pulling him with great difficulty until they got to his room.
She dropped him on the bed, making sure not to injure him.,
She took off his shoes and laid him well.
She wanted to drag the duvet when he shook his body.
Her hand slipped, and she fell on him, with their lips coming into contact.
Skye drowsily opened his eyes and saw her face up close.
"Wow," he took his hand to her cheek. "W — why do you look s... so beautiful tonight?"
"I..." for the very first time, Audrey was speechless.
She had no idea why he was affecting her so much. She could hear her heart skipping erratically.
"Y... you should have told me two weeks earlier, rather than showing me h... her..." tears rolled down his cheeks again.
Audrey's eyes softened with emotion as she stared at him. The smell of vodka was harsh on him, and it was crazily intoxicating her.
Their lips were still on each other. She didn't know when or how, but she found herself kissing him.
Skye immediately seized the opportunity and pushed her to the other side.
He came on top of her and took over the kiss.
Her nails dug into his skin as his hand explored her body.
Their senses kicked off, and soon they began taking off their clothes, roughly.
He broke the kiss and stared at her face.
"W... we can stop if you want," he said.
He might be drunk, but somehow he's still conscious of his activities.
Audrey shook her head. "Don't." She reconnected their lips again.
He spread her legs apart and positioned himself between her.
"I won't hurt you," he said between kisses and began inching himself slowly inside her.
"Ouch." She broke the kiss, feeling pain.
He slowed down and pressed his lips down on hers.
On the fifth thrust, her hymen broke.
Tears rolled out her cheeks.
He wiped them with his finger and began increasing his speed.
Her pains got replaced with pleasure as she moaned into his mouth.
"Ahh... yes... right there."
\[NELLY'S HOUSE\]
Nelly climbed down the stairs to see someone in her sitting room. His back was to her, and without even seeing his face, she already knew who it was. Maddox.
Only he comes to her house anytime he likes, makes her cry and then leaves. It's like it's his habit to invade people's privacy.
There was only one thing her mind was telling her, and that was, call the police. If he spends a night in jail, then he might stop coming to her house.
She sighed, dropping the idea as she walked and stood in front of him.
"Why are you here?" she adjusted her glasses over her nose.
Maddox, who had his head bent, raised it to meet her gaze.
Nelly staggered without being pushed.
It was the same way he looked when he forcefully kissed her. Okay, she wouldn't say forcefully since she kissed him back.
There is no difference. Red eye, and messy hair. The only difference was that he was shirtless, while today, his shirt was left half-done. She hated to admit it, but looking closely, she found him insanely hot.
"Can't I come see you again, Nashira?" he said like a maniac, and stood.
Nelly shifted back, frightened.
What if he tries to do something abnormal? She could sense he was not okay, just like the last time.
He stretched out his hand and curled it around her waist, pulling her close to him.
"Stop, what are you doing?" She struggled to release herself, but definitely no match for him.
She looked his way to see him staring at her intently.
His breath fanned her face, and that sent shivers down her spine.
She didn't know why, but she found her knees weakening in his intense stare.
She wasn't supposed to be feeling a thing, not when she's still haunted by her past.
She broke the stare.
"Why can't you stay away from me?"
"Is that what you want?" he asked, pulling her closer until there was no space between them.
She held their gazes. "Yes."
He took his finger to the back of her neck, stroking. "Then let's make a deal."
Nelly's breath became shaky and uneven. She wasn't supposed to be feeling any of this. In her life, she isn't meant to feel a thing for another man, so why does his presence affect her so much?
"W... What deal?"
"For tonight, I want to see your wild self. If you do, I will go away from your life. I won't try to uncover your truth; it will be like you never knew me."
"And if I don't?" She didn't know why, but she felt like asking.
He smirked and leaned in, whispering.
"I will show you how deep my obsession for your truth runs."
