Chapter 202

Chapter 202

Zoey couldn't figure out why Violette was so mad. "What's got you all riled up? Did Nicolette do something wrong? I don't see the issue. The way you treat Nicolette is the way she treats you. If you let her sleep, would she act like this?"

"It's more than that! She wants us dead!" Violette was fuming, her emotions boiling over. "I admit, Cecilia can be a bit much sometimes, but Nicolette's payback is way worse!"

Zoey watched her and let out a cold laugh. "Really? Playing music in the middle of the night is evil to you? Have you ever thought about how it feels to be woken up just as you're falling into a deep sleep?"

Violette realized the officer had a point.

They were the ones who started it.

Nicolette was just defending herself.

If she kept complaining, the two people in front of her would definitely think she was bullying a classmate. Thinking of this, she stopped. "There's one more thing, but no one else knows about it. Cecilia always encouraged Theodosia and me to steal Nicolette's stuff."

Zoey looked up. "So you're a thief too. As a cop, if I let you go, wouldn't I be betraying my job ?"

Violette was shocked. "What!"

"It was all Cecilia's idea. We didn't want to do it, and we never actually stole anything valuable. We just made it so Nicolette couldn't find her things when she needed them. If we had stolen anything expensive, she would have reported it by now."

Zoey smiled. "Even a dollar can get you a fine and detention. And it would go on your school record."

Alexander added, "Yes, Violette, tell us everything you know."

Violette hadn't expected things to get this serious. Nervously, she swallowed and quickly said, "I'm not lying. Cecilia made me do it. She told me to steal Nicolette's sanitary pads when she had cramps, pour toilet water into her cup, and tear her new clothes."

Zoey sneered. "Impressive."

"Nicolette is the impressive one. At first, she didn't notice, but then she caught on and waited to retaliate. And then that day came." Violette said angrily, then changed her tone. "Did you see the scar on Theodosia's palm?"

Alexander hadn't noticed. "Go on."

Violette's face turned pale. "Theodosia was using Nicolette's makeup secretly, and Nicolette put acid in her toner. Luckily, it didn't get on her face, or we can't imagine the consequences! Isn't that too much?"

Zoey replied, "Impressive." She was starting to like Nicolette more and more.

Before Alexander could ask, Violette continued, "Theodosia had been using that makeup for a while without getting caught. We didn't think Nicolette would find out so quickly, so we didn't worry. Then it happened."

"It was terrifying. Even now, I get scared thinking about it. Thankfully, Theodosia had a habit of putting the toner on her hand first. The burning sensation made her cry for a long time. Nicolette came back and watched us with this creepy smile. It was terrifying!" Violette could still remember that smile.

"It was like she was a demon from hell, ready to drag us down one by one. It was so scary. How can a girl be so terrifying?"

Zoey continued, "What happened next? How was it resolved?"

"It wasn't resolved! How could it be?" Violette took a deep breath. "We had no proof that she put acid in the toner. And we were in the wrong first. If something had happened to Theodosia that night, it would have been her own bad luck."

Her words grew more intense. "And, I don't know how she found out that Cecilia was secretly wearing her shoes. She put tiny nails in every pair except the slippers. When Cecilia stepped into them, she froze and started crying loudly, louder than a woman in labor. I remember it. She tried to take her foot out, but the nails made it hurt more. Theodosia and I had to cut the shoes open to get her foot out. We counted eight big holes. It was terrifying. The blood was like a faucet."

Alexander had initially sympathized with Nicolette.

But the story was taking a turn he hadn't expected. Nicolette's actions seemed more than just retaliation.

Although Cecilia, Violette, and Theodosia deserved it, the line between right and wrong was blurring.

Alexander noticed Violette's panic and tried to calm her. "Did you tell Katerina about any of this?"

"No. How could we? It was our fault. If we hadn't used her things or worn her shoes, none of this would have happened. Theodosia and Cecilia wouldn't be hurt."

Alexander frowned slightly. "You all live in the same dorm?"

Violette nodded. "Yes."

Alexander asked, "With all this going on, why didn't you ask Katerina to change rooms?"

Violette's eyes showed more fear. "We did. Katerina told us to switch, but Nicolette refused. She said if anyone had to move, it would be the three of us. Cecilia argued with her, saying it wasn't fair to make us move."

"Katerina was already wary of Nicolette. Our complaints annoyed her, so she told us to file a request if we wanted to move. No one backed down, so here we are."

Violette took a deep breath. "I've already filed a request. I'm leaving. Cecilia is dead, and who knows who's next? It's too scary."
