Chapter 192

Chapter 192

The woman pointed at Zoey, her face twisted with rage. "You're scum! You have no sympathy for others. People like you should just die already!"

"Whether I should die or not, God will decide that, not you," Zoey shot back, her eyes briefly glancing at the boy.

The boy was already inexplicably afraid of her, clutching his mother's clothes tightly as if to say, "Mom, I'm scared, save me."

The woman, holding her son, started cursing again. "People like you deserve to die. Don't worry, your time will come!"

"Relax, if anyone's dying first, it's you," Zoey retorted, her words sharp as ever. "After all, you're older than me."

"You!" The woman was livid, unable to get the upper hand with Zoey.

This feeling of helplessness made her extremely frustrated.

"What about me? I am just a bad woman. If your son got kidnapped right in front of me, I'd clap and cheer. It'd be the highlight of my day."

The woman had no idea why Zoey was treating her this way.

She was no match for Zoey.

The woman, experienced in arguments, tried to change the subject. "You filthy bitch, always changing the topic. I heard you threatening my son, saying you'd cut off his cock. With someone like you, you'll never deserve to have kids!"

Zoey was actually grateful for her 'curse.' Getting married, having kids, serving a man—was that supposed to be some great honor?

Why did it sound like if she didn't do those things, her life would be a huge loss?

She couldn't help but laugh.

Seeing her laugh, the woman gritted her teeth. "I'm telling you, you bitch, if you don't apologize to my son today, you're not leaving!"

"I'm so scared," Zoey said, pulling out her phone. "Need me to call the cops for you?"

The woman was speechless.

'Where does this girl come from, a demon? Such a simple matter, why call the cops?' She thought.

"Are you crazy? Just apologize, no need to involve the cops. I don't have time to waste at the station," The woman said, grabbing Zoey.

But the next second, Zoey easily shook her off.

Her strength was no match for Zoey's.

Zoey reached out to call the police, dialing 911. The call was about to go through.

The woman suddenly blocked her, preventing her from making the call. "Are you crazy? Go see a psychiatrist!" She was now convinced Zoey had mental issues.

She dragged her child out of the restroom, cursing Zoey as she left. "No one will ever want you, demon!"

Zoey replied, "Thank you."

The woman was speechless, thinking Zoey was truly insane.

She didn't even wash her hands before leaving.

When Zoey returned to the private room, Alexander checked the time. "This restaurant isn't that busy, is it? The restroom took that long?"

"Not really, I just caused some trouble."

Alexander was stunned. "What?"

He was curious about what had happened but decided to keep quiet, seeing Zoey's cold expression.

The detective team finished their meal and left the room together.

As they reached the lobby, Dennis slowed down.

"Why does this voice sound so familiar?" He listened to his phone, but no one else could hear it.

Charles asked, "What are you talking about?"

Dennis played the recording out loud.

A familiar voice filled everyone's ears.

"Girls don't have cocks. You're a girl, you need to cut it off to use the women's restroom."

"Yeah, I'll call the cops. I'm a bad woman, so what? If your son got kidnapped, I'd clap and cheer!"

"So what? Arrest me?"

"Thank you."

After hearing the recording, Alexander understood what Zoey had been up to.

Dennis and Charles looked at Zoey with a newfound fear.

Robert coughed awkwardly. "Zoey, I get that you wanted to stop her from taking her son into the women's restroom, but we need to handle these things more calmly. We don't want more complaints over small matters, right?"

Zoey nodded. "Got it, Officer Davis. No next time."

"Good."

They parted ways at the restaurant entrance.

Robert drove Zoey home. When they opened the door, they saw a suitcase by the entrance.

Kelvin was sitting on the couch, packing something.

Zoey asked politely, "Are you leaving?"

"Yeah, my vacation's over. I have to get back to work."

Zoey said, "Okay."

Kelvin added, "By the way..."

He was surprised Zoey spoke to him. After the underwear incident, he felt awkward facing her.

Zoey didn't let the atmosphere get awkward, asking a question before heading to the bathroom, where it sounded like she was washing up.

Kelvin finished packing and tidied the couch cushions.

The little orange cat jumped around, playing with him.

He suddenly felt reluctant to leave. Life on the road wasn't as good as being home.

In the few days he'd been back, he found himself not wanting to leave.

Kelvin petted the orange cat, his eyes moist.

"Zoey, if you're running tomorrow morning, remember to call me!" Robert came out of the bedroom, surprised to see Kelvin still there. "What time's your train? I thought you left."

Kelvin replied, "Tomorrow morning."

Robert nodded. "Morning, got it."

The father and son fell silent.

A few seconds later, Tenley came out. "Zoey, do you want bacon for breakfast tomorrow?"

Robert said, "She's not here, probably in the shower." He glanced at the closed bathroom door.

Tenley nodded. "Got it."

She didn't pay any attention to Kelvin on the couch.

Kelvin felt a deep sadness seeing his parents not care about him.

He was leaving tomorrow! Didn't anyone care what he wanted for breakfast?

Never mind, it seemed like it didn't matter whether he was home or not.

The next morning, Tenley got up early to buy breakfast.

There was enough for all four family members.

Zoey finished eating and went to the police station with Robert.

Poor Kelvin had to take a cab to the train station by himself.
