Jessica had always been easy to overlook, curvy but petite, muscles hidden beneath fat deliberately. She’d been called every insult in the book by her Clan, her brother, his friends, she was quiet and thought once she had a friend but, it was a lie. Sarah had betrayed her, drugged her and let her brother’s friends rape her of her virginity on the day she was meant to be mated to another clan’s Alpha…a prince to build a strong alliance. Her betrothed was Sarah’s true mate and instead of calling off the arrangement he’d allowed her to be violated…the sick bastard even watched. It was her Uncle Alpha of the Chimaera who had ripped the men from her and held her tenderly with regret. “I am so sorry…may the Goddess watch over you as she once did for me…be strong my little Songtress. Believe in the Goddess and she will ensure you that justice is meted upon them for their crimes. With that she died but awoke at the negotiations and saw the lovelorn looks of mates between the two something she’d bee too busy as an hieress to notice before. “I will not accept this arrangement…Father.” Jessica spoke firmly but with kindness. “It would be an insult to the Goddess to claim someone when its clear his destined mate is in this room…Prince Apollo…I believe you’ve found your mate in my friend Sarah…yes?” The Prince looked up startled, “That’s her name…Sarah?” Jessica smiled, “Yes, May the Goddess bless you or curse you as the fates intend.” Her words weren’t and insult but a formal declaration of her granting him his freedom to be with his true mate. Invoking the Goddess was something noone in any clan royal or would dare contradict not when their mating pull was so clear.
