Chapter 91 I Owe it All to You

Poppy tightly held her cellphone. She opened her swollen eyes and read the message over and over again. In the end, she anxiously grabbed her car keys and ran out. Along the way, she stumbled and fell.

She didn't even care to wipe off the bloodstains on her body, drove a car out of the garage, and raced away. She headed towards A City Hospital.

As soon as she entered the hospital, she ran around in a frenzy.

As a spoiled young lady, she usually didn't know the hospital's procedures. Those men around her would take care of her affairs. At this moment, only a nurse asked her.

Poppy's hair was messy, and she cried out a few words. The nurse's expression changed, and she immediately took her to the VIP ward. Without even saying thank you, Poppy rushed in.

Half an hour later, she realized and burst into tears.

The doctor comforted her, "It's okay. You're fine as long as you got the injection in time. You need to rest well now and observe for a few days."

" I... I need to be hospitalized!"

Poppy dared not leave the hospital. She wanted to stay in the hospital to feel a bit more at ease. At her repeated requests, the doctor arranged for her hospitalization. Poppy was taken to the ward by a nurse and changed into a hospital gown.

In such a quiet environment, she finally had the time to take out her phone and carefully read that text message.

It was a message from Fannie.

Fannie reminded her that Maxwell had that disease. She needed to get the blocking injection in time, otherwise the consequences would be severe once the time was up. Poppy couldn't distinguish between truth and falsehood, she just knew she couldn't afford to take the risk. Her reputation was already very bad. If she got sick again, she would be better off dead.

She took a deep breath, wiped away her tears, and dialed Fannie's number.

"Fannie. Are you lying to me?" Poppy cried miserably.

Fannie remained calm. "Did you get the injection?"

"Yes."

"Good. We used to be best friends. Although I took your man, we are not mortal enemies." Fannie said lightly, "I really like Ramsey. I heard about Maxwell's situation through the grapevine. Anyway, you're out of danger once you got the injection."

"Poppy, you're really stupid. Don't harm yourself or others next time. Your brain is not even as big as a dog's, you can only come up with such stupid ideas."

Poppy retorted, "You don't need to teach me. Keep Ramsey, that trash, to yourself. I won't compete with you in the future. This time we're even." She hung up the phone directly.

She felt bitter. She just couldn't accept it and wanted to reclaim everything. Everyone liked a man like Covington! Holland was not even match Covington! Even if she has the title of a national medical apprentice, it didn't mean anything! She's just a doctor serving others.

The next day.

Holland returned to the hospital.

Beckett did massage for her every day. Her finger dexterity improved very quickly. As soon as she arrived at the hospital, she was surrounded by doctors and nurses from the rehabilitation department.

"Holland, you're finally back."

"Dr. Holland, the rehabilitation department in our hospital is more popular recently. Many patients come to see Dr. Yannis. They just want to see if you're still in his office."

"Holland, this is for you." Dagny handed a bouquet of flowers to Holland, "Welcome back."

"Thank you!"

Holland took the flowers and held them in her arms. She looked at Dagny and thanked her softly.

"Don't mention it. We have a deep friendship. Your husband gave me the most expensive phone on the market. I feel a bit embarrassed." Dagny linked her arm with Holland's, looking even happier.

"You worth it."

Thinking of this, Holland realized she hadn't transferred money to Covington yet. She would ask him how much he spent when she got back at night. But thinking of last night's situation, she couldn't help but feel embarrassed.

"Dagny, I need to go report to Dr. Yannis."

"Go ahead. Remember to call me for lunch at noon."

"Okay."

After saying that, Holland turned and walked towards Yannis's office. Along the way, people who knew her greeted her warmly or looked at her with kindness.

Only one person in a hospital gown stared at her gloomily around the corner.

Holland paused, bypassed the person, and continued on her way.

Poppy obviously didn't want to let her go.

"Holland!" Poppy shouted loudly.

Holland stopped and turned to look at her. "What's up?"

Suppressing her anger, Poppy asked, "What's your relationship with Maxwell? Why is he helping you?"

"What?" Holland was puzzled. She didn't even know Maxwell.

"Stop pretending! Last night, it should have been you... but the unlucky one turned out to be me. Did you take advantage of Covington?" Poppy questioned.

Holland figured out the situation.

"Last night, you were planning to drug me and Mr. Covington. But you ended up taking it yourself, right?" she asked coldly, "I don't know Maxwell, but I know you got what you deserved."

"You... that drug was supposed to be taken by you!" Poppy glared at her viciously, "I'm in this situation today because of you!"

"Poppy, I've never wronged you. The idea of me stepping in to marry was yours and Aurora's. I used to stay quietly in the countryside." Holland reminded her.

Upon hearing this, Poppy became even more furious!

"What are you so proud of? Are you proud that you married Covington by luck?" Poppy sneered, "Do you think he loves you so much? He's only interested in your face!"

Holland didn't want to continue arguing with her, "I gotta go."

After saying that, she quickly walked away.

Poppy shouted at Holland's back, "You will be more miserable than me in the future! If you know the truth about the car accident..."

Holland ignored her words and went straight to Yannis's office. She heard voices inside and knocked on the door.

"Come in." Yannis said.

Holland opened the door. At a glance, she saw Yannis and Beck.

"Director Beck, Dr. Yannis, hello!" Holland politely greeted them.

"Come in!" Yannis saw her and was delighted. "You can rest at home for a few more days. You don't need to come back to work so soon."

"My left hand is fine now, and my right hand is recovering. I can help you with something."

"I was just talking to Director Beck, you're a young person who is eager to learn."

Holland glanced at Beck. The last time they met was at a press conference, and they had a very unpleasant argument before. Now, facing each other, they didn't know what to say.

Beck looked cold and said, "Holland, I need to talk to you, let's go outside."
