Chapter 81 We Are a Loving Couple

"You embezzled public funds and transferred company projects, infringing upon the company's interests."

Covington looked at Ramsey and Roman, saying, "The amount you embezzled is in the billions. How many years do you think you should spend in prison?"

Attempting to frame Holland for a crime with the intention of sending her to jail, they didn't anticipate that they would be the ones ending up in prison.

Ramsey and Roman turned pale.

"It's fake. All of this is fake!" Ramsey shouted.

Covington remained indifferent and said coldly, "The evidence is conclusive. You wanted to transfer the assets of Drakes' Group to start a new company."

"Sullivan, show them."

"Okay."

Sullivan looked at them with pity and threw the documents in front of them.

Ramsey grabbed the documents and looked through them, feeling despondent afterward. Every transaction was recorded with Roman's signature. This document was real.

Roman gritted his teeth, his eyes filled with fierceness.

"All of this was done by me, with no involvement from Ramsey. I signed each bill. He was unaware." Roman intended to confess on his own, concealing Ramsey's involvement.

He wanted to protect Ramsey.

"Dad..." Ramsey stammered.

The amount they embezzled was substantial, at least deserving of a sentence of over ten years.

"Someone has to take responsibility."

Covington seemed to have anticipated Roman's choice, but Ramsey wasn't worth that sacrifice.

"The police are waiting downstairs, Mr. Roman. Will you go on your own, or will they come up to take you?" Covington sat in the main seat, casually remarking.

Roman's heart ached, suppressing his anger as he stood up and said, "I'll go on my own."

"Dad!"

Ramsey followed, saying, "Dad, if we return the money, it might lessen the charges."

Roman lowered his voice, "That thirty percent stake, make sure it doesn't fall into Covington's hands. Otherwise, we'll have no chance of turning things around."

"As long as you're here, we'll definitely have a chance."

"Dad, Covington is too malicious," Ramsey said. Ramsey was somewhat afraid. Covington's methods were insidious and unexpected.

"Remember, get back the shares!"

Before Roman could say more, he was quickly taken away by the police. Ramsey's face contorted, leaning against the cold wall, filled with resentment towards Covington.

Shares!

He remembered that word and went straight to the underground parking lot, starting the car to drive back to Drakes' Family Mansion.

"Mr. Ramsey Drake..." Butler Prescott held some medicine, hesitating to speak.

Ramsey saw the medicine and struggled to say, "Give me the medicine, I'll take it to Morgan."

If he wanted to get the shares, Morgan had to die.

Prescott's eyes flickered as he placed the medicine in front of him. "Mr. Ramsey Drake, then sorry to trouble you."

Ramsey looked at the medicine in front of him, steeling himself.

He thought, 'Don't blame me, Morgan.'

Inside the Drakes' Group meeting room, the drama quickly concluded. The shareholders unanimously agreed to remove Ramsey and Roman from their positions and to appoint Sullivan as the President of Drakes' Group.

They witnessed Covington's firm methods, and all submitted to him.

"So, that wraps up today's meeting. Thanks for taking the time to be here." Sullivan stood up and escorted the shareholders out.

He politely showed all the shareholders the door, then turned around to report back to Covington, "Mr. Drake, I have already called Drakes' Family Mansion to inform them."

"I got it."

Covington responded slightly, " Go get familiar with Drakes' Group's operations."

"Alright."

Sullivan was shocked by the sudden promotion and realized that working for Covington indeed had its rewards. He walked out of the meeting room with a smile and even closed the door behind him thoughtfully.

Inside the meeting room, it was quiet.

Only Holland and Covington remained.

Holland turned her head, curious. "Inform about what?"

Covington's hand rested on the back of her chair, gently pulling it towards him. The wheeled chair moved closer to him, bringing them face to face.

"Remind Morgan, someone at home is out to get him."

Holland, puzzled by this, asked, "You mean Ramsey?"

"Yes."

Covington's eyes were deep. "Tonight, there may be changes at home."

"Mr. Drake, I feel like you see everything, that everything is within your grasp." Holland admired such a person. Perhaps she was slow to catch on.

Covington half-lowered his eyes and pointed with his index finger to the spot on her chest.

"But I can't see into your thoughts."

Holland quickly crossed her arms, covering her chest, her eyes filled with tenderness. "How could you touch me?"

Covington cleared his throat. He had touched that spot with more than just his hand.

"Mr. Drake, do you have feelings for Drakes' Group?"

Holland looked at him steadily as she spoke.

He could have destroyed Drakes' Group, but in the end, he chose to preserve it.

Covington's face was noble, his voice slightly grave. "The seat you're sitting in used to be mine. I greatly admired Morgan, but he grew increasingly wary of me. There are traces of my journey here. In the future, I will merge Drakes' Group with SkyOrigin Corporation, but the members of Drakes' Family should not get involved."

So, he had already removed the members of the Drakes Family from the company.

Holland looked up to listen to him talk, not realizing that when they were alone, he still affectionately referred to Morgan. Covington was a man of deep emotions.

She wanted to help him achieve his wishes.

"Mr. Drake, you are the most outstanding man I have ever met."

Her eyes sparkled like a clear lake, reflecting Covington's figure.

Covington stood up, his hands on either side of her chair, leaning down to look at her, "Dr. Holland, how many men have you met?"

"Quite a few."

Holland began to count. She had seen many men in the village, at school, and even in the hospital.

"Just focus on me, okay?" Covington leaned in, his nose almost touching hers.

Holland gazed into his eyes filled with affection and said, almost absentmindedly, "Okay."

Covington was pleased. His lips lightly touched her red lips, whispering affectionately, "Dr. Holland, this is your dose of pain relief for today."

Holland felt the warmth on her lips, her heart beating faster.

The bright sunlight from the floor-to-ceiling windows danced on her delicate neck. Covington leaned in to kiss her red lips, earlobes, and neck. With a slight turn of her head, Holland could see their entwined shadows on the floor, full of passion and longing. She bit her lip, daring not to make a sound. He seemed to really enjoy kissing her neck. And she couldn't help herself either, always wanting to be close to him.

"Mr. Drake, it will leave a mark," she reminded softly.

"We are a couple." Covington didn't heed Holland's words.

Instead, he lifted her up, holding the back of her head, and kissed her deeply.

"The phone is ringing." Holland's voice trembled.

Lately, Holland had received many unfamiliar calls.

"Let me answer for you."

Covington took her phone from her pocket, seeing an overseas number without a name, his eyes flickering.

Then, he swiped to answer the call.

But his lips lingered on Holland's earlobe, deliberately kissing her softly.
