Chapter 90

Ariel's POV

"How was school?" Brandon asked as we got in the car.

"Okay," I said

"Same as any other day," Laura added.

"How was school for you, bro?" Brandon asked Landon

"Nothing changed. Still, the same jocks run the school, and the cheerleader's hand on their arm. Nothing new," Landon replied

"I guess I will see tomorrow," Brandon said and started driving towards the Packhouse.

When we got to the Packhouse, I was surprised to see Tabatha and mom talking outside by the front door.

"What is Tabatha doing here?" I asked

"I don't know," Brandon said, and we got out of the car.

"Hey, Tabatha, what's up?" Landon asked

"I need to talk to you about something important," Tabatha said

"Is something wrong?" I asked

"We need to talk inside, away from everyone else," She said, and Mom, Brandon, Landon, Laura, and I walked into the Packhouse.

"Let's head to my office," Brandon said, and we walked to his office.

"I told you not to tell anyone about Ariel being a witch. Why would you let her show everyone in your Pack her powers?" Tabatha said

"We didn't have a choice. One of the she-wolves challenged her at the Luna Ceremony. If Ariel didn't accept the challenge, the council would have taken that as her giving up her spot as Luna, and the one that challenged her would have become Luna," Brandon said

"You two could have stepped in and stopped all of this. You could have told the council you wouldn't take anyone else as your Luna," Tabatha said

"It doesn't work like that," Brandon replied

"Well, now Ariel is in more danger than she was before," Tabatha said.

"What do you mean?" Landon asked

"Do you not remember what I told you? No one could find out about Ariel being a witch, or they would question what type of witch she is," Tabatha said

"No one knows who her mother was. They only know she has powers. There is nothing to worry about," Brandon said

"That's where you are wrong. I have been hearing gossip in my village. The witches and warlocks found out Ariel is a witch and have been questioning where she comes from," Tabatha said, causing me to worry.

"How is that possible?" Landon asked

"Ariel used her gifts at the Luna Ceremony. Someone at the Ceremony must have told the witches," mom said

"Who would do that?" Brandon asked

"Anyone that likes to gossip," I replied

"What are we supposed to do now? We can't let them figure out who Ariel's mom is and how powerful she is," Brandon said

"I have an idea. We will tell everyone that she is my niece," Tabatha said

"But you come from the same place my mom was from. What if they figure out we are lying?" I asked. I looked nothing lIke Tabatha, but I had a lot of my mom's features. It wouldn't be hard for someone that knew my mom to realize I was her daughter.

"I am afraid we don't have any other choice. I don't want anyone questioning who your family is, or there is no idea how many will be coming for you.

"You haven't touched any of your food, Angel. Are you worried about what Tabatha said?" Landon asked.

We were in the dining room eating dinner. I was tired and had a lot on my mind. I had been worried since hearing what Tabatha had to say about there being gossip in her town about me being a witch.

"I am fine. Just trying to deal with what Tabatha told us," I replied

"Don't worry, Princess, we won't let anything happen to you," Brandon said. I knew Brandon and Landon would fight anyone that came after me, but I also knew I needed to listen to Tabatha and take my training more seriously. There was a big chance that someone might come after me one of these days, and I needed to be able to protect myself.

"I know you will, but I also need to be able to protect myself. I can't depend on someone else to protect me. I think it is time to learn more about what my mother's side could do as a witch. If they were so powerful and I was supposed to be the most powerful witch, then I needed to learn how to use my powers to the best of my abilities. They could save my life one day," I said

"I agree with you. That is why you are training with Tabatha," Brandon said

"Yeah, but I don't think Tabatha can teach me everything I am able to do because she isn't as powerful as my family was," I said

"I guess. But she is the only witch I know we can trust," Brandon said

"I know, but I was thinking we should look around in the property you said my mom left me. Maybe she left something there that can help me figure out how to use my powers," I said

"That sounds like a good idea. When do you want to check out the house?" Brandon asked

"How about this weekend we can also check all the documents my dad had? She might have left him something to give me when I got older that could help me with my powers," I replied

"That sounds like a good idea. I don't know why I didn't think of that," Landon said
