Chapter 177

"Save whatever you have to say until we have settled everything. Don't add to my stress, please," he left her and stormed in.

He tried entering, but the guard at the door stopped him.

"You can't go in."

"Why can't I?"

"Please don't make things difficult for us; just leave," the guard told him.

He reluctantly left.

"If you truly are the alpha's son, then prove it!"

"I don't need to argue with you! When the time comes, you will get hit really hard!" Darien chuckled.

The old lady walked up to Alisha, who was standing not far from her. She tried holding Alisha's hands, but Alisha moved back, and boom, a favor appeared from nowhere and burned her hands. Everyone gasped.

"What just happened? It just came from Luna! Don't tell me the old lady was right; Luna practices black magic! Look at what she did to the woman; she burned her hand!" Alisha looked at her, but finding the right word to use, that never came from her.

"I didn't do it! She just came to touch me, and I moved back. The next thing I saw was her hands like this; it wasn't my doing!" Alisha denied.

"Can you just hear yourself speak? Did you say her hand just hung on its own? It doesn't make sense; you are already caught! There's no need to deny it!" the same foolish elder said, giggling.

"She says she didn't do it; you clearly heard what she said!" Darien blurted angrily.

"Don't even think of raising your voice! It has just been discovered that you are the illegitimate son who tried to kill his brother to keep the throne that was never his! Your days of bossing around are over! Step down for the true heir!" another elder from the crowd jibbered.

"Yes, being the alpha or Luna doesn't give anyone the right to practice black magic. There's no way you will tell us your Luna has been doing it behind your back. You were probably aware of it but you chose to hide her because you also do the same thing! You don't deserve to be called the alpha!" another blurted.

"And Luna too! I can't believe she's been pretending this whole time; now I feel she deserves everything she got."

"Someone arrest them! We all know anyone who uses black magic must be beheaded, and the ex-alpha and his Luna are no exception! Someone dragged them out and beheaded them!" Jehey ordered the guards.

The guards stood their ground, refusing to move an inch.

"Seems you all are scared of killing your alpha. Then I think I have people who can do it better," Henry chuckled.

He whistled, and almost immediately, a group of rogue wolves rushed in.

"Here, take them out to behead them," the rogue immediately grabbed their hands.

Darien remained silent, getting everyone, including Henry, who was giving the order, worried.

"You've seen it. This should serve as a lesson to each and every one of you; no one is allowed to practice black magic, and anyone caught will suffer the same fate as the alpha and his Luna," the annoying old man said again.

"Will you keep quiet, you old hag? Why do you think you have the right to accuse my sister? Did you see her use black magic? This old witch just showed up from nowhere and accused her, and you are already whining in your wrinkled mouth! Why do I have the feeling that you've been together with this old lady? You have been with her every step of the way! You don't deserve to be here, two-faced knife!" Michael blurted angrily.

"How dare you! Do you know I'm the third in command here? I have the right to say it when I see something not going right, else the late Alpha will never be happy with me!"

"I'm already so disappointed in your foolishness. Hearing you say I will never be happy with you makes it seem like there was a time I was happy with you!" a voice said from behind.

They all turned to see Raymond (Mr. Alex), the supposed late alpha, standing at the door.

"Dad!" Dora gasped.

"Wait, how is this possible? Tell me I'm dreaming," Emily moved back, her heart racing faster than a party drum.

"You aren't. I'm alive! I didn't die like you wanted. I've been alive all this while, waiting for this day!"

Emily tried moving, but she stumbled on Dora's leg and fell on her butt.

"Raymond? How come it's you? Aren't you dead?" the old man asked, shocked.

"I'm alive, just as you can see. It was as if I knew you were not someone good. Thank God I didn't let you stay by Darien's side, so you can't defend with your life that Darien is my flesh and blood? I even heard you say I once told you Darien wasn't my son. I was wondering when I told you that; please, I need you to explain, because it seems you have another friend who bears the same name and has the same face as me. Tell me, please." The old man moved back.

"I... I.. I'm sorry, I only said all those things because she promised she would let me rule alongside her son when they succeeded. I never knew you would show up; please forgive me."

"So if I hadn't shown up, you would let Henry, another man's son from a pack you don't even know, rule in the Grayhound pack? You put the lives of the pack members on the line just because you were thirsty for power. I'm disappointed in you. I can't believe I called you a friend."

"What? Henry is not the alpha's son? Then why did his mom bring him to rule? She was once the alpha's second wife! So how come?"

"You all might be wondering how it's possible, but I'm saying this today: Henry is not my son!"

Henry twitched his brow in confusion, looking at his dad as if he had just told a joke he'd never heard.

"What do you mean, Dad? I'm your son, your second son!" Henry said tiredly.

"Sorry, you aren't. Ask your mom; I was never your father. That was what I found out that made your mom try to kill me. If not for Alisha's mom, I would have been long gone." Seeing how everything was, Alisha quickly freed herself from the grip of the rogue wolf, and so did Darien. They tried running away, but the guards caught the six of them. They tried fighting their way out, and the guards ended up killing them on the spot. Sandra, seeing blood, began shivering and quickly ran towards Darien.

"I'm sorry, Darien! Don't let them touch me! Everything that happened was never my intention; they charmed me! They made me say everything I said. Please forgive me! I don't want the crown. Alisha can have it back; I just want to stay by your side as your friend, just like we used to be. Please!" she pleaded.

Bethel stood up from her seat and stormed towards Sandra. She grabbed her hair and pushed her far from Darien, causing her to fall down.

"You, this low-life bitch! What makes you believe you can eat your cake and have it? Your days of acting are over; now everyone has seen your true colors! As if trying to kill Alisha wasn't enough, you went ahead to stay by Henry's side! Now you are here begging; how shameless can you be!" Bethel went to where she was seated on the floor and gave her another slap.

Alisha had to come and pull her off before she let go of Sandra.

"It's okay; she's not worth your time. Don't worry, I've got a better plan for her," Alisha smirked.

"I found out that Henry was not my son; that was why she attempted to kill me. Henry is the son she had with her mate. They planned to kill me and take over my throne, but somehow they found out it wouldn't be possible. So she got me drunk and made me sleep with her, after which she pinned the pregnancy on me. At first, I thought what she wanted was for her mate to rule. But then she did the unthinkable by killing her mate with the help of her sister. Sooner, I also realized that what she wanted was to rule the pack; meaning her claim of giving the throne to her son was all a cooked-up story. She's only using Henry as a pawn in her game. Once she's achieved her goal, she's also going to get rid of him, just like she killed his birth father!" Henry, who couldn't believe his ears, staggered back in shock.

"Mom, tell me he's lying! Tell me it's a lie!" Henry yelled.
