Chapter 159

Dungeon

Dora followed the guard into the prison. Darien had agreed to let her see Sandra and have a few words with her.

“There, ma'am, please don't go too close to her. She stabbed a maid who brought her food yesterday; she's looking for people to drag down alongside herself. She's holding a sharp object in her body, so you should not go near her,” the guard whispered to her.

"Sure, I won't go close to her. Thank you for telling me," she whispered back.

"Who do we have here? I've been hearing your name for some time; I guess I'm finally seeing your face."

Immediately Sandra heard her voice, she quickly stood up and walked to the gate.

"Do I know you from somewhere? It's good to hear you say you've heard so much about me. I didn't know I was that popular."

"Well, it's okay. I heard you killed Luna. That's so bold of you. I also heard you told the alpha you did it because you thought that was what he wanted. Who in God's name would want their mate dead if not a wicked witch like yourself? I heard your mate died mysteriously, so you came here to end someone else as if killing yours wasn't enough. Now tell me, how does it feel to be locked behind bars? You must have thought he wouldn't be able to put you behind bars just because he tends to show you so much care and attention. I also heard you were picking fights with her every blessed day and the alpha would support you. You know you never expected your charms to fail, but funny enough, that's exactly what they wanted. They just placed you in a tight spot and then left you to suffer. I'm already used to their wicked acts; it's so unfortunate yours will be the end of you. What a pity," Dora clicked her tongue noisily.

"What do you mean? How did you know about them? And who told you I used a charm on him?" she questioned, half yelling.

"Don't yell at me, girl. I understand you are going through a hard time, but that's none of my business. Remember, I wasn't the one who asked you to do what you did. In short, I overheard them saying they sent you to kill Darien, but you ended up going contrary by doing the opposite. You killed the wrong person, so they just have to leave you to suffer the consequences of being stupid!"

"You are lying to me! They didn't say that! Don't even try to deceive me; I know they will come to save me. They will surely come to rescue me; they won’t leave me to suffer. She assured me of that!" she yelled, hitting the iron gate repeatedly.

"I wonder what made you think I would come here to just lie to you. I only came to tell you your fate to your face so you could wake up from the dream and prepare yourself to face reality. You've been in here for weeks. If they truly wanted to rescue you, then why haven't they sent the messenger they've been sending all this while? You can see how they left you to suffer, yet you don't want to accept it. The earlier you tell yourself the truth, the better for you!"

"And why should I believe you? I know you are only here to discourage me! I won't believe you!"

"I'm not begging you to believe me. I mean, you don't need to. I was once a pawn like you, and just like they did to me, you've been discarded. They know so well that you'd do things your own way, so they gave you the charm. It was meant to fail the moment you went contrary to what was agreed. You should have known better; from day one, they knew you wouldn't be able to kill Darien because of your love for him, yet they sent you.

They lied to you that you didn't need to kill him; they didn't even tell you their original plan, and you foolishly trusted them. You got exactly what you deserved, and for your information, Alisha isn't dead, but trust me, I will make sure you don't leave here alive. I suggest you just go ahead and kill yourself to make things easier for yourself because Alisha will have to do it herself when she returns, and you know how mean she can be when it comes to dealing with the bad guy. Yeah, I was once a bad guy; I even tried killing her child, but mine wasn't intentional. I was used the same way you were used. My job was to help them get rid of the child, and when they saw I couldn't do it, they just had to discard me. Look at me, look at you. You had the chance to turn them down since you weren't bewitched, but you chose not to shun evil. Look where they've landed you; you're just going to spend the rest of your days gushing your dirty teeth!" Sandra was already crying before she completed her statement. If only she had known, she wouldn't have visited them in the first place.

Why did she ignore what they did? She was supposed to run from them knowing how they tried to kill Darien and how they were banished, how his mom was accused of killing her husband, co-wife, and even Darien's younger sister. None of that happened in her presence, but that day after she visited them, the lady she was staying with warned her. There was nothing the lady did not do to convince her. At some point, the lady had to start avoiding her, hoping she would give up the idea of befriending them, but she just ignored all the signals the lady gave. Now all she has is herself to blame for being so stupid and wicked.

"Please help me; I don't want to die here. I was wrong to have thought working with them would give me my heart's desires. Please help me talk to him. He forgave you when you attempted to kill his son, so I believe he will also forgive me," she jibbered shamelessly.

"I should help you plead with him? Hell no! I'm not doing any of that, and mind you, he's not my friend. We're only doing this because we have a common enemy. I only need to work together with him to finish off Henry and his mom. Then I will avenge my friend Alisha; you caused her death, so you also deserve to die. Don’t worry; I will tell him to make your death easier for the sake of old friendship. I might just tell him to ask the maid to add one or two things to your food. You will just lie down and rest, peacefully. No stress, nothing hard. That's kind of me, right?"

"I thought you said Alisha didn't die, so how come you are changing your statement? As long as she's alive, he has no reason to kill me!"

"What the hell is wrong with you? Wait, was there a time I told you Alisha was alive? If she's alive, would I have any reason to be here? Just stop this silly act of yours; you killed her, so you also deserve to die!"

"You are mean! You only came here to rub my misfortune in my face! I will kill you! I will kill you the same way I killed her!" She yelled, bringing out her hands to grab her.

Dora just targeted her face and then gave her a dirty slap.

"Don't you have any shame? What makes you think you can kill me? I'm not Alisha; you can only try that with Alisha, not me. You are lucky I wasn't the one. Just consider yourself a dead woman because, sooner or later, you will have to die. As I said, I will beg him to make your death easier; you will just sleep and never wake up again, and then your flesh will be thrown away to be feasted on by the wild dogs and probably the vultures!"

"How dare you! You have no right to decide what will happen to me, so keep quiet!" she yelled.

"Who told you I have no right? I can just go out there and tell him you don't even feel remorseful for killing his Luna. I will also add that you told me you planned to kill his son, but she was fast enough to take him to her parents' house. Just dare me!"

"Keep quiet! Why can't you just go away? Leave and never come back; you have no business with what happened! Why can't you just learn to mind your business!"

"I will, but that's after I've fed your ugly face to the beasts. Just wait and watch!”
