Chapter 158
What? Do you want to see her? She's locked up, and why should I trust you that you won't do anything silly if I take you to see her?" Darien questioned.
"Oh, come on, I wouldn't have shown up here if I was still working for them. One thing I need you to understand is the fact that I never worked with them willingly. They fucking bewitched me; they made me do all sorts of mean things, and when I finally got myself back, they dumped me to suffer, just like they did to the Sandra lady."
"Sandra? How come you know they sent her?"
"I don't need to be told by anyone because I heard it with my own ears. I heard them discuss it; they fucking sent her here for you, but she ended up doing otherwise, so they've abandoned her to face her fate."
"How come she never mentioned any of this to me? She told me she came back because she was tired of staying with her friend, that's why she came back. I didn't even suspect anything, and trust me, everything that happened, I didn't know how it happened. I just found myself believing everything she told me; I wasn't myself."
"I know that too. She came back just to carry out what they planned. You shouldn't be shocked, and as for everything that happened, I knew it would turn out that way. That old lady is so mean; everything that happened happened exactly how she wanted it to happen."
"So you mean she sent Sandra to charm me and then kill me?"
"Yes, that's exactly what she wanted. She was sent to kill you, but she changed her mind and killed your Luna instead. Her plan was to kill Alisha and take her place, but that's why she came back and started hating Luna. If I remember clearly, they've never had an open encounter, so what made her hate Alisha? You were supposed to see all this, but you just won't let go of the fact that you are indebted to her, but there's not enough reason why you should allow her to mess around."
"Please be more clear with me; I'm already lost."
"Alisha is alive! I fucking saw her with my own eyes!" Darien was forced to hiss. There was no way she could be alive, not someone he had seen with his own eyes. He was standing there when everything happened; there was no way he would believe she was alive. He sent his men to look for her down by the bridge, but they didn't find her body, so there was no way for her to have survived it.
"That's what you think, but there's nothing impossible for that old lady. She's capable of doing so many mean things you never expect. They saved her, and now they are planning to use her to get back at you because she lost her memory, and they have started by giving her the wrong stories about you. I'm only telling you this so you could save her; I'm not doing this because I want you to be safe. Of course, you know I don't give a fuck about you. I know if I keep quiet, they will push her to the extreme, then dump her, or rather kill her after they've achieved what they wanted. I can't just sit back and watch her suffer; that's why I'm telling you." Dora said.
Hearing him say she was alive, Darien sighed. From day one, he knew she wouldn't die; even his wolf had refused to accept it. Each time he tried bringing it up, his wolf would just get pissed.
He could remember the chief telling him not to worry that she'd be fine, just that winning her back would be harder than the previous ones. The chief priest even told him he might end up not winning her back; they might just go their separate ways. The chief priest only used the word "might," which means he still stands a chance of getting back with her.
He had been trying to tell his family, but none of them was willing to listen to him. Not after a guy came with the rumor that the dead driver was his friend and that he was there when the alpha came to look for his neighbor. In other words, he made the gullible pack members, including her family, believe he was behind her death.
About the party stuff, he had to attend because Sandra told him he would find the one who asked her to kill Alisha at the party. He attended and ended up not seeing anyone; now the whole pack judges him for going to a party instead of staying at home to mourn his Luna. He just had to ignore them and let them say whatever they wanted. He didn't even bother trying to clear his name since none of them dared to say it to his face.
"Do you know where they stay? You know I have been trying to figure out where they are, but I couldn't figure it out. Now that you are here, you will help me figure it out, right?"
"Yes, I will help you. They've wronged me a great deal; first, I lost my job at the hospital, and his mom blocked every possible way for me to get another job. They made me go through hell, and I'm never ignoring that."
"So what do you want us to do?"
"First, you shouldn't act like you know about it. Don't even tell anyone you know. They believe you think she's dead, and secondly, they didn't expect I would walk up to you to tell you this after what happened. Don't act rashly; I will tell you when to act and when not to." Darien sighed, then nodded.
"Fine, you requested to see Sandra. I will have a guard take you to see her."
"I don't know what to do, Micheal. I've been trying to make him eat something, but he won't even get up to look at me. I'm scared he will fall sick," Mrs. Mandes told Michael.
"Have you tried giving him his favorite? Who knows, he might consider getting up to eat," Mr. Mandes replied.
"There's nothing I haven't tried to get him to eat. First, I prepared his favorite, and then I also got him chocolate ice cream, which is also his favorite, but he turned it down. He said he wouldn't eat a thing until his mom came back. He's already so thin; I'm not happy seeing him that way," she further lamented.
"Now I'm beginning to think all this is also Mom's fault. Remember when I suggested she move in here in the meantime, but she insisted she stay back with some excuses? Now look where it has landed us! If she had stayed here with us, then all this wouldn't have happened. I don't know why, but I feel Mom caused all this," Michael blurted.
"I thought we had gone past this stage already. I thought we agreed you wouldn't blame your mom. Remember, Alisha had been married to this same man before we met her. Your mom was only looking out for her. Imagine your mom telling her to leave him; then what would she have been doing? Do you prefer her sitting and watching another woman take over her hard work? You should know Daniel is the alpha's son. If he insists on taking him from her by force, there's nothing we can do. So why are you blaming your mom for doing what every mother in her shoes would do?" His dad half-yelled at him.
"Hell no, Dad! I never asked her to walk away from the marriage; I only suggested she take a break. She told us how the Sandra girl was on her head, and instead of shunning her, he kept supporting her. If she had come to stay with us, then she wouldn't have died. Dad, I'm pained. I'm pained that I couldn't do anything to save her; I couldn't protect her as her elder brother. So how do you expect me to be happy?"
"I understand how you feel. I know you feel bad, but I also feel bad too. I know your mom is also pained, so you shouldn't always heap the blame on her. How do you expect her to heal if you continue making her feel guilty? Please, Michael, don't get your mom to do something she shouldn't. Please," Mr. Mandes told Michael.
"I understand how you feel. I know you blame me for giving her that advice, but I only did it because I couldn't bear to see her in pain. I'm a woman, so I know how it feels to have another woman take your glory.
