Dr Knight

I woke up late the next morning, thoroughly exhausted. I hadn't fallen asleep immediately after she left; it took some time for me to process what had happened with that mysterious T-girl who departed so abruptly once she learned about my profession.

Not to mention the fact that I had taken her virginity—I was her first lover and a one-night stand simultaneously. The whole situation was incredibly strange when I thought about it.

I yawned deeply and stretched my arms overhead before rolling out of bed. Checking my wristwatch, I noticed I had several missed calls from an unknown number. When I checked my text messages, I found one that read: "Dr. Angelo, I'm Tina. I'm waiting at the hospital."

I suddenly remembered that my friend had asked me to look after his daughter, who was starting as a new intern at my hospital today. I needed to hurry—the poor girl likely knew no one there, and I genuinely wanted to make a good impression and help her settle in. I rushed to take a quick shower, deliberately making the water cold to wash away the stress and the lingering effects of last night—specifically, trying to erase the memory of T from my mind and dispel the physical reaction she had left me with.

I lowered my gaze in disbelief, noticing my body's persistent response. Unbelievable! My physical reaction intensified just from remembering her.

I sighed and grinned at my reflection in the mirror. "Angelo, welcome back to your old self. Some things never change."

I chuckled and stepped out of the shower, walking freely around the room without bothering to wrap a towel around myself. Surprisingly, my physical arousal hadn't subsided yet.

I scratched the back of my neck, trying desperately to stop thinking about the girl. If I couldn't get myself under control, I'd never manage to get dressed, and I was already running late.

It was imperative that I get to the hospital soon. I had promised my colleague I would look after his daughter and keep an eye on her during her internship.

Finally, my body returned to normal, and I was able to put on my boxer briefs and suit. I applied my favorite cologne and checked myself in the mirror one last time before grabbing my wallet and car keys, then hurried out.

I decided not to check out of the hotel just yet. I would stay for a few more days to give myself a change of scenery and stay away from additional stress.

It took me less than ten minutes to reach the hospital. I rushed in through the private entrance that connected directly to my office and meeting room, where I was scheduled to meet the new interns. Using this entrance would save me valuable time.

As I stepped inside the meeting room, I immediately noticed a young woman standing with her back to me. She had long hair pulled back in a ponytail and was wearing a hoodie that looked strikingly familiar. I couldn't tell for certain if it was T—that would be an impossible coincidence!

The HR manager was asking her to introduce herself to the group. Still facing away from me, she began speaking: "I'm Tina Ray. I was born and raised in a family of doctors. I'm here because I've read so much research about the innovative methods Dr. Angelo has developed. My graduation project actually focused on his achievements. I'm 19 years old."

I screeched in shock, "What the fuck! 19? How is that possible?"

She immediately twirled around at the sound of my voice, her eyes widening in recognition. She stuttered, "W-what are you doing here?"

The HR manager stood up from his chair and cleared his throat awkwardly. "This is Dr. Angelo Knight, our Chief of Surgery."

She gasped and covered her mouth in obvious distress. I clenched my fist and moved toward her, gritting my teeth as I whispered furiously, "What am I supposed to do now? Your father might literally kill me when he finds out."

"He would never know," she replied with a surprising grin. "It's our secret." She spoke as if this situation could be easily hidden and forgotten.

I grumbled in frustration, "Oh my God! I should kill you right now. You're practically a teenager, and we—"

I abruptly stopped speaking, suddenly aware that the HR manager and several staff members were watching our interaction with intense curiosity.

She blinked innocently and suggested in a soft voice, "Then let's get married."

"What the fuck!" I exclaimed, completely blindsided by her proposal.

In truth, I didn't have many options. While she wasn't technically underage, she was the daughter of my respected colleague and friend. If our one-night encounter became public knowledge, it would create absolute chaos in my professional and personal life.

Eventually, we reached an understanding, but convincing her father was the real challenge. His initial reaction was predictable: "How is this possible? You're 35 years old and she's only 19!"

I simply responded with, "She's the one I want to spend my life with."

And she added dramatically, "He's my first true love—the only man I'll ever love."

And just like that, I found myself trapped in another marriage. I rationalized it to myself: "Why not? I've been married twice before, and I'm not getting any younger."

She seemed inexplicably happy, as if we had been dating for years. I wasn't angry about the situation, but rather strangely excited in a way. Perhaps it was the novelty of marrying someone I barely knew—the whole thing happened incredibly fast.

Did I mention that our wedding was completely ridiculous?

She couldn't walk properly in high heels while wearing a wedding dress with a ten-meter train. She lost her balance, stumbled into me, and we both slipped and fell directly into the decorative pool at the venue.

But that wasn't even the worst part.

After changing into more comfortable clothes—she became probably the first bride in history to wear shorts and an oversized T-shirt at her wedding reception—her father announced us as a married couple and said, "You may kiss the bride."

That's when disaster struck again. As I leaned in to kiss her, she moved her head shyly, trying to mirror my movement. The result? I smashed my nose directly into her forehead.

Yes, we spent our first day as a married couple in the emergency room. My nose was bleeding profusely—and it wasn't the only part of me in pain.

We finally left the hospital and returned to the hotel. I hadn't had time to purchase a new house, so I had upgraded to the royal suite for what I hoped would be our honeymoon. Once I shut the door behind us, I was eager to finally have her properly, without the rush and awkwardness of our first encounter.

But she quickly dampened my enthusiasm when she bit her lip nervously and said, "Angelo, I'm sorry, but we can't do it tonight."

I blinked in confusion. "What? Why not?"

She shrugged apologetically. "Monthly period."

Our first night as a married couple was effectively ruined, but we soon settled into a normal routine. I mentored her as a doctor during her final project, constantly amazed by how she had completed her medical education at such a young age. She was genuinely brilliant.

Life became surprisingly wonderful, and with each passing day, I fell deeper in love with her sweetness and innocence. Our intimate life was satisfying, if somewhat conventional. I often desired more but was content with what we had.

She excelled at managing our daily life at home while also proving herself a valuable asset at the hospital. I was continually amazed at how quickly I had fallen for and married someone I had barely known.

Yes, I had done something similar with Pamela years ago, but that was different—Pamela had refused physical intimacy before marriage. This situation with Tina was entirely unprecedented.

I found myself waking up each morning and lingering in bed, watching her angelic face as she slept, as if seeing her for the first time every day.

Every day felt like a renewed honeymoon with her.

She became the sunlight in my life—my everything—especially when she began experiencing morning sickness and developing unusual food cravings.

It didn't immediately occur to me that she might be pregnant, despite the obvious symptoms, because I firmly believed my condition made it impossible for me to father children.

But apparently, the impossible can happen.

After she had been sick for an extended period, I took her to the hospital for a comprehensive checkup. While waiting for the results in my office, I couldn't hide my concern. She smiled reassuringly and patted my hand before sitting on my lap. "Darling, don't worry. I'm not going to die."

The word "die" terrified me. I pulled her tightly against my chest. "No, please, no. I love you."

It was the first time I had openly confessed my love to her. She pulled back slightly to look at my face and blushed. "I love you too, Angelo."

Just then, there was a knock at the door. I stood up immediately, eager for information. "Yes, come in. Do you have the results?"

The nurse entered with a broad smile and congratulated us. "No need to worry—she's pregnant! Congratulations to you both."

"What?!" I grabbed the test results, my heart pounding in my chest. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

I stammered, staring at Tina in amazement, "I'm going to be a father?"

She nodded, smiling radiantly. "Yes, you are."

I cupped her cheeks tenderly and kissed her softly, whispering between breaths, "You're the last one for me—forever."

She pecked my lips gently in return. "I knew I would be. And you're my first and my last. I love you, Angelo."

"I love you, Tina Knight." We both laughed joyfully as I hugged her tightly, finally understanding the true meaning of commitment and settling down.

She had become my home, and I was her strength and safety. After all my mistakes and false starts, I had finally found where I belonged.
