Too sloppy

Too sloppy
Viola's POV

Maybe I was a bit impulsive. I should have waited until I was sure no one would enter her room anymore.

But... The medicine was supposed to work slowly... It was supposed to only fully come to an effect when she was sleeping.

It was faster when the person was asleep.

That... That was what my dad said. My father had never lied to me before, especially not on something so trivial.

Then why the fuck was Luca carrying Aria out of her room bridal style while yelling her name? Why was Marcus looking so disoriented, but much more organized than the person carrying the girl?

I was so anxious I could barely breathe.

Why was Aria not waking up?

Argh!

Fuck!

I should have realized that the maid was up to no good. I should have known.

Oh wait... I did know, but I didn't act!

This would have been a good thing if Luca hadn't spotted Aria. Now he would investigate, and they could trace the damn meal back! To me!

That bloody kitchen maid!

Aria wasn't dead yet. I was sure of that. It was because of my medicine.

The maid's medicine was probably meant to kill after a short while, mine was slowly... It could take a few days to work completely.

The drug starts from the inside, it was meant to destroy the foetus in her belly first before it shows effect.

But with this other drug in her system, the original function would be halted, instead it would act as an antidote for the first drug... The one the stupid maid added in the food.

It would try to stop that one from working first before performing it's own function.

How I wished I knew this bloody fact before adding my medicine to the food. I would have made the maid taste her's, and if she couldn't... I would make her make another one, one I was sure she didn't put anything inside... Or maybe I would have done something else, but this shit wouldn't be happening.

It was only after I gave Aria the food and returned to my room did I call my father to ask about the drugs. That was when he explained to me how they worked.

They were truly beautiful things... Those drugs.

Argh!!!

This... This was a bloody diaster.

They wouldn't have been able to trace the drugs back to me. It was impossible to spot even with advance equipment in hospitals. But whatever cheap thing that maid used... It could be traced.

If they found out she made the food, they would ask who sent her to do it. The idiot maid would tell everyone that I was the one. Then that would just solidify all of Luca's doubts towards me.

I would be done for. Completely finished!

"Argh fuck!"

That was why I was heading as fast I as I could to the kitchen, so I could deal with the bloody maid before Luca figures everything out.

This... This was not how I would go down. When I was just a few weeks to my end goal.

No... No freaking way!

"Where is she?" I asked, glaring at everyone in the kitchen when I arrived. The maid... She wasn't there. "Where the bloody hell is she?!" I slammed my hand on the counter, my breathing heavy.

I practically ran all the way here... But she wasn't here.

She probably knew I was coming for her, or she planned this to the latter end.

She probably thought I would take the soup and die, so she planned her escape before then.
I would have been impressed if I wasn't so bloody mad.

"Just where the fuck is the bitch who made soup for me?!" I yelled at everyone, pointing at the place she stood when I met her hours ago.

They all flinched and stepped back. No one said anything.

It could have been fear... Or an agreement.

I scoffed, and then smirked.

The way they stared at each other, some in surprise... Other's in shock, a few guilty, and a few regretful... While the last few where just angry.

Could it have been a corporate plan to take me out?

This fucking imbeciles...

Weren't mafia servant supposed to be loyal? If they weren't... It could easily harm someone as powerful as Luca.

I heard a lot of the maid's hated Aria... So they couldn't have poisoned me because of her, so why?

Why do something so rash and stupid?

What was this about? I hadn't hurt any one of them in particular... So, why were the maids being so...

Fuck it, whatever.

That was their business.

I was not going to let them ruin me.

I shut my eyes and allowed it to stay like that for a few seconds, trying to catch my breath. When I did, I opened my eyes again... They were chilling.

The temperature in the kitchen dropped at least five degrees.

"I'm going to ask this question for the very last time, then I would personally match all of you to the dungeon where I would be in charge of your torture." I said coldly. It wasn't a threat... I would do it.

Then I could just tell Luca that it was them.

He would believe me because the work was too sloppy to be mine anyways.

'Should I just do that? Or should I give them the second option?' I thought to myself before speaking again.

"Or..." I continued. "You tell me where the fuck that girl is right now, and I spare you all."

I just really wanted to deal with her myself.

If I tortured only the people in the kitchen, the brave maid who had dared to do something so brazen would be let free.

Sure, I could tell Luca that one of them was missing, and he would look for her... But what if she managed to tell him that I was the one who sent her to make the soup?

What if he asked who asked her to do it?

Soup isn't exactly something eaten regularly in this mansion, and the maid's knew not to just cook without being instructed, respect when it wasn't an essential meal; morning, afternoon or evening.

Luca would ask... The stupid maid would tell.

I couldn't let that happen.

I had to find her and deal with the bitch myself, then I would match the rest to Luca... After I had cut off all of their tongues.

Nobody was going to tell Luca anything.

"Which would it be?" I asked the quiet room. "If none of you speak up in the next ten seconds, I'd pick the first option."

I didn't want to go with this one, but if they forced me... I would.

10...

The atmosphere in the kitchen changed... They no longer had different expressions on their face. Everyone had the same one... Fear.

8...

I smirked, and then crossed my hand waiting for which they would pick.

One of them suddenly stepped forward "She left!"

"She packed her bags and left the mansion over an hour ago."
