CHAPTER 16

[THIRD PERSON’S P. O. V.]

Reign was simply bewitched by his brother’s looks. The way his brother's hair was tousled, those haunting blue eyes, assessing his every movement. How could he fall out of love with him? Oh wait, he couldn’t. On the other hand, Levy, was too tired to get up; but he was looking down at his brother, who had seated himself between the gap of his legs. Thinking nothing, Reign laid his head on Levy's right leg. That gesture surprised Levy. Reign hadn’t done this. Ever. Until now.

His brother’s presence was strangely comforting to him, as his fingers reached Reign's hair. The fingers swayed through his hair, and Reign made his head stay put. Not quite facing Levy, he started to speak.

“Levy?” He spoke in a softer tone than he ever used to talk to people.

“Hmmm…?” The elder brother hummed, as his kept on massaging Reign’s hair.

“What are you doing to me?” The voice was a soft whisper, but was loud enough for Levy to hear.

“Nothing, Reign. Nothing.” The quarterback replied with a sigh. His brother aroused such contradictory feelings in him.

“You’re going to be the death of me.” Reign spoke, still keeping his head on his brother's lap. And you, mine, Levy idly thought.

“Why do you not want me?” Reign finally got his head up, but still kept seated in between the brother's legs.

“Reign.. you’re my brother. You possibly can’t have feelings for me.” He replied, with an voice, which sounded strange to himself.

“Am I not good enough?” The other guy completely ignored his previous comment and presented him with another question.

“It’s not that, Reign. It’s not right.” Truth is, Lev wanted his brother too. But, unlike Reign, Lev didn’t go by his impulse. He thoroughly analyses a situation before he acts on it. And Levy knew that he couldn’t do this. It was wrong. Matt would never accept, society would never accept, heck, he himself would never accept.

“Seems like you've made up your mind, Lev.” This time his hand reached to his brother left leg, as he started toying with the jeans, but that touch was far from sexual, and it didn’t tense Levy.

“There was nothing to make my mind about, Reign. It was a 'no' from the very beginning.” He spoke in a deeper voice this time, and he felt Reign wince at his words.

It was up to Levy, to not give in, to his brother's charms. He mustn’t succumb to it. He could get out of this. Finally when his infatuation with him was over, he'd take a few days off and go and have a sleepover at Lucifer’s house.

“I want something. Can you give it?” Reign's voice sounded very foreign to Levy suddenly. What did he want?

“Anything, except sex.” The elder brother gave in, as Reign looked directly into Levy's eyes.

“Really, anything except sex?” Green eyes bore into the quarterback's eyes, and he could swear, that the intensity of that gaze, made him avert his eyes.

“Anything.” The man looked at Reign, and steadied his shaky voice. God knows what his brother would ask for.

“A kiss.” Reign spoke, as Levy started processing the words in his head. God damn, he said, 'except sex', and Reign, naturally found a loophole in his sentence.

“You will never have to look me in the eye, and confess that the darkest parts of you, love me the same way I love you. A kiss, that’s all I ask for. After that, I'll walk away from you. And never come back, I promise.” Levy's eyes snapped back to Reign's as he understood what he meant. The truth in his brother’s words, made him flinch. ‘The darkest parts of you, love me the same way as I do' — he, as sure as hell, wanted to disagree to this, but he couldn’t.

“What do you mean by 'walk away'?” Levy questioned, as Reign softly shook his head.

“Not physically walk away. I'd stop making moves on you. Stop pursuing you. And you'll be free of me.” The smaller brother edged a bit closer to Lev, when the decision was made. He would do it. Levy would go for a kiss, if that puts his brother away for good.
