CHAPTER 15
[ T H I R D P E R S O N'S P. O. V ]
He blanched after he processed the words in head. Those menacing scribbled words, written in Black ink, stared back at him, making him pale. He angrily scrunched up the paper with his palms, as he threw it in the nearby trash can. A lot was going on in his head.
He couldn’t go to the police with this, and neither could he tolerate this. He didn’t know what to do. His head was spinning, and a cold shiver ran down his spine.
“Ashley, you need to go. I have some urgent matters to deal with, that this very moment. I'll call you later.” Levy managed to speak up, and she looked at him with dreamy eyes. Levy could only hope that she hadn’t fallen in love with her, or that would create problems.
“Yeah, sure.” The girls's voice sounded unconvincing, yet, she grabbed her purse, and bolted out of the door, and soon was gone.
Levy closed the door, and he lousily walked towards the sofa, and slumped down on it. His heart was pounding in his chest. Who knew? And why, after all these years? What does he want? All those questions in his head, and he was alone; trying to analyze the situation. This girl wasn’t enough of a distraction.
Flashback (About 10 years ago) :
[LEVY’S P. O. V.]
I am hungry. My toy car is lost. My brothers are sleeping on the bed. I can’t sleep on the bed. The bed will break. Mommy? Where was Mommy? Eyes filled with tears, I find a chair to stand on, reaching the cupboard.
Food. I want food. My stomach grumbles, as I find a can of dried peas on the shelf. The can is half empty. I take the can in my hand, and my feet slips from the chair.
Boom, I land on the floor. My back aches. My back aches. I stand up hastily, as I pop a few peas inside my mouth. They taste bad and they’re cold. I don’t want to eat them. I haul the can across the kitchen island as I hear heavy footsteps approaching me.
A strong builded, burly man stands in front of me, with fiery rage in his eyes. Dad. I don’t want to go near him. He beats me. “What did you do, you little shit?” He shouts, as I make a run for the other room. But he follows me.
I increase my speed, crouching down under the bed, my back pressed against the cold wall. “Get out of there, you son of a dog!” He shouts, as he reaches for me, grabbing the collar, dragging me out. No! No!
I get a very bad smell from his mouth, as I tilt my head backwards, not wanting to be near him. He pulls out something from his mouth. Smoke. Smoke is coming out. He pulls open my shirt, as he presses the hot end of that thing on my chest.
“NO!” I cry out, writhing in pain, as his grip on me hardens and he slaps me across the cheek. I fall off on the floor, barely making it to my feet when he burns me again.
Flashback ends.
“NO!” Levy shouted out, suddenly getting up from his short nap, his head was aching while he could hear his heart thumping against his chest. Nightmare. That’s all it was. The memories, they haunted him to this day.
“How about you try to keep the volume down next time, brother dearest?” A voice jolted him out of his clouded thoughts, and his attention snapped back to the 'full-of-himself' teenager speaking those words.
“Reign, could you please leave me alone for some time, huh? Don’t you have girls and boys to fuck? Go, pickup someone randomly off the street.” The elder brother's voice was filled with angst, and mockery.
“I will, really. Could you, for the love of God, put a shirt on, brother?” He smirked, as he looked down at Levy slumped on the couch, as he gracefully climbed down the stairs. Levy rolled his eyes, and made no effort to move.
Reign walked towards the couch, and sat himself between his brother’s parted legs, but didn’t touch him. He looked in his brother's eyes, and saw nothing except exhaustion and despair.
