Chapter 38 Chapter 38
Chapter 38
Iris POV
We were supposed to go for the fertility test yesterday but father said he was busy. We have to postpone it till today and I doubt we can go today too.
I overheard his beta telling him that someone was killed. I didn't hear the name of the person he called but I knew whoever it was, was important to father.
He seemed so shaken by the person's death he hasn't uttered any word to Vickie and I since then. I was tempted to ask him if I was still going for the fertility test but I decided against it.
I didn't want to do the test, I will prefer to remain clueless about it. What if I wasn't fertile? That would leave a huge scar on my heart.
"What is going through that head of yours?" Vickie asked, jumping on my bed.
"You can't do that anymore Vickie, have you forgotten that you are pregnant?" I cautioned her.
She sat down on the bed, folding her hands on her chest. "I remember that Iris, I was just trying to have some fun."
"You have to be considerate Vickie, at least if not for you but your baby." I complained.
"Fine, have heard you doctor." She pouted.
"Come on Vickie, you know I'm only telling you the truth." I huffed out.
"Yeah I know, it's just that it feels weird you know."
"I do this all the time, jump on your bed whenever I come to your room but now I have to be considerate of the baby." She finished off.
"I understand you perfectly well but for now just try to jump less okay." I advised and she nodded her head.
"Anyways, I'm going to miss you. You are going back tomorrow, and I will be left alone in this house." She said sadly.
If it wasn't for the fact that we were hiding my identity from Darius, I would have suggested she comes visit me every afternoon.
"I can come visit you though." I offered but she shook her head.
"Let's just meet outside the house, I doubt father will be happy if he sees you here."
That's right, I still don't know how I'm going to go about the honeymoon thing and I don't want to sit face to face with Darius and have any discussion in particular.
"Yeah, let's do that. Your favorite cafe, yes?"
"Yeah, I will see you tomorrow at Maison Cafe then." She beamed and I nodded my head.
"So, what do you suggest we do for the rest of the day?" I asked her.
"Let's go on a date. Just us two sisters." She giggled.
"I love that, it's been so long since we did one of those. Where do you have in mind?" I demanded.
"The club. I haven't been there in ages."
"Hell no Vickie, there is no way we are going to the club." I complained.
"Why." She pouted, thrashing on the bed.
"First of all, you are pregnant. And secondly father will kill us if he finds out we went to the club. Might I remind you the type of mood he is in?" I explained.
"Fine then, where do you suggest we go ?"
"Now you are talking, let's just go have lunch. I have the perfect restaurant in mind." I answered her.
"I will go to my room and get dressed then." She said leaving my room.
I also got dressed, added the fake mole to my face. Father still wants me to pretend to be Vickie even at home. He has Vickie pretending to be me at home.
She covers her mole with makeup, and truthfully I think anyone can tell it's not me because I don't wear makeup. Vickie is the one that wears makeup, I don't like dressing up either but she does.
After I was done dressing, I left my room going to wait for Vickie in the car. "Good afternoon my lady." The driver greeted me.
"Evening Sam." I responded to his greetings.
Soon enough, Vickie joined me in the car, greeted the driver and we started heading to the restaurant. We got to the restaurant in less than thirty minutes.
We got of the car and entered the restaurant. "Welcome to Brunch and Banter. How may I be of help to you." The receptionist greeted us with a smile on her face.
"I would like a table for two please." I replied to her. She typed something into the computer before leaving her desk.
"Come with me." She said to the both of us and we followed her.
"Here is your table." She gestured to a table beside the window.
"Thank you." I and Vickie said.
"May I have your orders," she asked and we told her what we wanted to eat.
"The waiter will bring it to you very soon ." She said after she finished taking our orders, bowed slightly and left.
"How did you know I wanted to go to this place, Iris." Vickie cooed from beside me.
"I have seen your stories on Instagram, Vickie, and I also want to try out their food." I replied.
"See why I love you and can't live without you." She beamed, smiling from ear to ear.
"Good evening ladies, your food is here." The waiter said, smiling politely and placing the food on our table. We thanked him and started eating.
"Iris?" We heard from beside us.
"Tony?" I called out shocked
"It's really you Iris, I didn't think I would see you here." He expressed. I opened my mouth to answer him but he wasn't looking at me.
Right, he thinks Vickie is me. I continued eating my food, watching the drama unfolding before my eyes.
"Leave Tony, I don't want to see you." Vickie hissed, thankfully she knew about Tony. I also told her how he called me to beg me, so she knows the right thing to say.
"I'm sorry Iris, just come back to me. I promise to treat you right this time."
"Help me beg your sister Vickie." He said looking at me, I raised my hands up in surrender , shrugging my shoulders.
"If you don't leave now Tony, I will call the security on you." Vickie threatened.
"Fine I will. Not because I want to but because I refused to be embarrassed." He grunted walking away from our table.
I bursted into a fit of laughter as he left, Vickie joining me too. "Isn't that crazy?"
"Very crazy." I replied between laughter.
