Chapter 17 Chapter 17
Darius POV
She gasped as her back hit the door. I clicked the door locked, leaning closer to her face. "Are you okay?" I asked her, inspecting her body for any injury.
"I...I'm fine." She stammered.
Matthew had already told me when I left my office, prepared to go rescue her from the possible danger that it was a false alarm.
"Are you sure?" I asked again and she nodded her head.
This is wrong but it feels so right. I am not supposed to be in this restroom with her or have her pinned against the door. My gaze flicked away from her brown striking eyes down to her plump lips.
I wanted nothing more than to connect our lips together, everything in me was screaming at the me that this is wrong but I wanted this more than anything.
Her tongue poked out of her mouth, licking her bottom lip. Maybe she did it intentionally or unaware but it tempted me so much, even my little friend down there felt it too.
I couldn't resist anymore, I leaned in closer to her wanting to claim her lips but she turned her head away from me causing my lip to land on her neck.
I wanted to get angry at her, ask her why she would refuse me of a kiss but I put myself in her position. I was getting married to her sister and kissing her, the guilt must be eating her up.
What am I even doing? About to kiss an enemy?
But I have never craved anything more than her lips right now. I wanted to kiss her, I wanted to feel her soft lips against mine.
I removed my lip from her neck, leaning back a little. I placed my hand under her chin and turned her face to look at me. "You don't want me to kiss you, is that it?" I asked her slowly.
"It's wrong Darius, we shouldn't be kissing. We should have never had anything to do together in the first place." She mumbled.
"Do you regret it? Do you regret our night together, the kiss we shared?" I asked her but she didn't respond. She parted her mouth to respond but nothing came out.
"See, you want me as bad as I want you but you won't admit it." I whispered, pecking her cheeks.
But it's not her cheeks I want, I want her mouth. I want to claim her mouth, I want to map every inch of her mouth with my tongue.
"One more kiss and we would never do this again." I said even though I knew it was a lie. I would kiss her again, I just wanted her lips right now. How could I stop wanting her lips, I could kiss her forever and never get tired.
"It's wrong Darius." She mumbled.
I knew she thought about it, she wanted the kiss too. "Just one last time Iris, after this I won't disturb you for a kiss ever again." I whispered trying to convince her.
"Last time?" She asked for confirmation and I nodded my head.
"Last time, so what do you say?" I asked and she nodded her head timidly, giving in to me.
I placed my lips on her, waiting for her to open up but she didn't. I bit her lower lip and she gasped, I took that as my chance and slid my tongue into her mouth.
She tasted sweet as always, tasting like caramel and orange mixed together. Finally, she kissed me back. Our tongues fought for dominance but I won.
My hands roamed her body before settling on her backside. I squeezed them and she moaned into my mouth, the moan sending waves of vibration through my body.
"Claim her." My wolf screamed at me, wanting to jump out but I controlled myself. I can't claim her, even if I can, this is not the right time.
She pushed at my chest breaking the kiss, I didn't want the kiss to end yet but I knew better than to force her. I stepped back from her, I straightened my tie, while she stepped away from the door fixing her dress.
I unlocked the door and stepped out, heading back to the ridiculous cake tasting. This is the worst thing ever, but I can't help it. I have to do it.
"What took you so long, your fiancee already picked a cake." The annoying shop owner's voice said.
I looked at the cake Vickie had picked, it was a carrot cake. Who the hell eats carrot cake, but that is none of my business. I'm not even happy with the wedding in the first place.
"The call took longer than expected." I answered coldly, not giving her room for any more questions. I glanced at Vickie who stood there looking gloomy with her hands folded across her chest.
Iris came out shortly after, she wasn't looking anywhere in particular. The shop owner informed her that Vickie had picked a carrot cake.
Her expression changed as she heard the word carrot cake, she stepped closer to Vickie whispering something I couldn't hear against her ear. Vickie whispered back and I wondered what they were discussing.
"Can we leave now?" Vickie asked with an attitude that said I would rather be anywhere than here. Well, guess what, she isn't the only one.
I regretted being here but not entirely, I don't regret the restroom part. A smile forced its way on my face as I remembered what happened in there.
"Yes, you can. Just drop me the wedding address and I will have your cake delivered there in two days." The shop owner said.
Vickie didn't make an effort to give her the address so I signalled Nathan to do that. He scribbled the address down on a piece of paper and handed it to her.
"Thank you." The shop owner said and we turned around leaving her shop, none of us acknowledging her.
I watched Iris and her sister make their way to the car that brought them. Watching the way Iris butt was jiggling with every step in that sundress she was putting on.
For someone that petite she is really blessed.
Then thanks to my heightened hearing I heard a trigger going off. The bullet aimed directly at Iris.
My heart jumped out of my chest. I didn't think, I ran as fast as I could, pushing her away from the bullet. I didn't have enough time to dodge it myself, the bullet pierced into my skin.
I let out a sign of relief that the silver bullet didn't meet my heart and it was instead my hand. But something didn't feel right, I was getting weaker.
I know werewolves and silver don't get along very well but this was different. Unless the bullet was laced with something.
Wolfsbane.
That was the only other strong thing that could make a werewolf weak and maybe die.
"Are you okay?" I heard someone say from beside me but I couldn't identify whose voice it was. My brain could barely process anything at that moment, my sight was becoming blurry too.
I was starting to see things and people in two's. I slumped down on the concrete floor hard, hitting my head in the process.
