CHAPTER 60; THE CONNECTION
Cheska yelled, and her fist landed on Garrett's chest in an instant.
"Y-you..." Garrett couldn't finish what he was going to say because, as much as he wanted to offend Cheska Mcbride, his body wouldn't let him. She took his life in an instant. Perhaps the memory nerves are the reason he is still standing.
"You do it to yourself... I'm doing all I can to avoid killing you, but you've gone too far... If you are reincarnated, make sure you change... Because you will always end up like this!" Cheska mumbled as she yanked her fist from Garrett's body.
Cheska withdrew Garrett's heart from his side as his dead corpse lay on the floor. She feels nothing at the time. Perhaps because her humanity is being taken away...
When she's in range and can't control her emotions, this is the true Cheska McBride... Cheska Mcbride was a child when she killed a dozen wolves. The only difference is that she did not lose consciousness or memory.
"If a member of the Hidden Society wanted to meet me so badly... then I will!" Cheska smirked in response. She then returned her gaze to Garrett. "Don't worry; it won't be long before your father follows you," she said as she stepped out of the cage.
Cheska was preoccupied, so she didn't notice the changes in the mark on her forehead. Even if the scarf is covering the difference in hue is visible. It transformed from white to scarlet.
Meanwhile, Matthew came to a halt at the Thunder House. He was ready to walk to Luna Maurice's office to advise her of their next step when a sense of dread crept in and squeezed his chest. "What is this?" he said, resting against the wall, as he began to observe the images."Ahh! Cheska! "She's in big trouble!" Matthew's loud intake of air filled the room as he saw the horrifying spectacle unfold. He saw a lot of bloody corpses, but he didn't see who did it. Matthew, on the other hand, thought it was tied to Cheska, which is why he promptly moved away as the images vanished.
"Matthew, you've returned... I discovered the-" Luna Maurice was about to add anything else when she saw Matthew's beady sweat and the crescent moon on his brow flickering.
"Something is amiss with Cheska, Luna Maurice... "I can feel her range," Matthew grumbled as he tried to straighten up straight. His eyes were racing. He would have passed out sooner if it hadn't been for his tenacity.
"What exactly do you mean?" What exactly is the issue? "How did you know Cheska was nearby?" Luna Maurice inquired as she assisted Matthew in sitting.
"I'm not sure, but I can feel it here... "I'm also seeing dead bodies, and my gut tells me it's related to Cheska," Matthew revealed between breaths.
Luna Maurice paused for a minute to reflect. "... Couldn't this be related to the mark on her head? And yours as well?"
"What is my grade?" Why?" Matthew inquired, unable to see the mark on his brow. He had no idea it was flashing red and that something had been put to the crescent moon.
Luna Maurice queried, concerned, about the odd sword buried in his crescent moon mark—an incident unknown to her. She has been looking for Cheska's mark up until now, but she has yet to find a definitive answer. The only certainty is that the lotus mark is a symbol of healing.
"Sword?" Matthew replied by looking for anything he could examine himself. He discovered the window and stepped up to it, staring at himself.
Matthew saw the red mark on his forehead flickering, and there was a sword on top of the crescent moon, as Luna Maurice had said.
"If the pack saw that mark, they'd question you about it because you're their alpha..." Luna Maurice made a statement.
Matthew was gasping for air. The mark is crucial in a pack since it indicates that you are a member of a group. So it's a major issue if everyone knows his mark has altered. It makes no difference whether he is the alpha... Matthew will be despised as the leader and inside the Thunder Pack.
"I can't do anything about this mark... If the pack finds out, I'm going to leave Thunder... But I'm bringing Cheska with me!" Matthew made a forceful comment.
"Let's not go into it right now... Let's start by looking for Cheska." Luna Maurice said that it is too early for them to discuss leaving Sapphire.
Matthew nodded and sat back down, returning to the image he had seen. "If my suspicion is correct—that something connected the vision I saw to Cheska—then she is very likely in that location."
Luna Maurice gave a nod. "Can you pinpoint the location?"
Matthew made a shaky motion with his head. He didn't remember Thunder City since he hadn't been there in a long time. "It's an establishment... I see many trees surrounding it," he said of the location. The lights and inscriptions might also be seen in the vision.
"I believe I recognize that location... It is the private property of a group, with places where only members of their organization may access," Luna Maurice said. She then walked to her table to get the map.
"Here... This is the place!" Luna Maurice said while pointing to a section of the map that had something written on it.
Matthew approached Luna Maurice and looked at what she was referring about. "Do you happen to know who owns this land?"
Luna Maurice made a shaky motion with her head. "The Head Council forbids me from interfering with the people of the city." As a result, my understanding of the city is limited.
Matthew nodded since he was well aware of the issue. "I believe we should have a thorough discussion with the head council."
Maurice agreed with a nod. She did not allow Matthew to speak for her. "Come here... Cheska is more essential right now... Allow me to speak with the Head Council."
"THE GREAT VILLA."
