Chapter 46; Not A Mateless
Cheska's point of view.
Matthew and I were laying on the rough ground, naked save for a thin layer of clothes. We were both startled by astonishment once our tremendous sensations subsided.
The latter turned to face me. "... I'm entering the contest, so don't do anything dumb... "Do you get it?" Matthew is already aware of my thoughts. That's why he'd come before me.
"You're going to do what?" Matthew, have you gone insane? You are unable to attend the competition! What do you believe the general public will think? What about our mother? What do you think she'll think?!" Because of the shock, I stood up and peered at Matthew with my huge eyes.
Matthew couldn't stop giggling at my surprise. "Did you think I'd let you marry another man?" I had made up my mind from the start. I accept with this plan for my personal benefit... to make you, Cheska Mcbride, my Luna. That is also why I devised this plan." He came to a stop and scowled as he continued. "The policy is unambiguous... Everyone, including myself, is welcome to participate." Bradley says this with a sly grin on his face.
However, I take it for granted. I can't help but wonder what my mother's response will be if Matthew wins. 'Hmm... why would I be concerned?' I reasoned. Because I'm merely an alter-ego, I should leave this issue to my other half...
"So, do whatever you want?" Because you will be confronted with a formidable foe... Just keep in mind that you are not permitted to meddle with my life!" I picked up my clothing and put them on after hearing this comment.
"Obviously, you're planning something, but I won't interfere as long as you keep yourself safe and don't involve other men..." Bradley I picked up the piece of my clothing that he had discarded.
"I'm an easy person to talk to, but I'm not sure about my other half..." I sneered as I removed the piece of clothing from Matthew's grasp. I was ready to go when I realised I had an issue.
'Matthew is aware of this, yet he is unconcerned. I won't protest as long as he wins the competition and we obey the regulations. Matthew flexes his muscles, certain that his might would lead him to triumph.
"In any case, will you let me out?" As I already said, I need to return to the pack-house. My mum has requested that I attend..." With a grimace, I insisted. Then I made a mental note to learn to swim so that I would not have to face this humiliation again.
I didn't have to repeat myself since Matthew assisted me in crossing the lake.
"Remember to act appropriately in front of other alphas." It's better to go than to murder someone if you can't manage your rage..." As we headed back home, Matthew recalled me.
Matthew's constant reminders irritated me, so I dashed home. Fortunately, Matthew did not consider pursuing me and just let me go.
When I go inside the home, I see my mother, Liam, Alpha Connor, and Eunice seated at the dining table. They are giggling as they eat.
"Hello, ugly! What occurred to you? "You look terrible!" Liam retorted with a snarl.
“Huh! "I was thrown into the lake by your big brother!" I explained before entering the home.
"Because your temper is too much!" Matthew was the one. He'd just walked in and heard my remark to Liam.
"Brother, if you want to teach Cheska, you need give up... She's a hopeless case... It would be much better if you concentrated on me! I'm a much better student than she is!" Liam shot back boldly.
Meanwhile, Eunice raised her eyebrows, suspicious because she saw me and Matthew arguing. "Oh, I wish I had a brother like Matthew." Maybe my life would be pleasant and enjoyable... right, father?" She emphasises the term 'brother' so that everyone knows Matthew and I are brothers.
"My life would be easier if I had a son like Matthew..." Connor replied with a wide grin. As if there had never been a disagreement between him and Matthew.
"Cheska Mcbride and Matthew Silva are not siblings..." Liam makes an innocent comment. Matthew has ingrained in his mind that he and I are not siblings, which is why he constantly corrects people when they say so.
This remark was suppressed by Maurice and Connor. Even Matthew was unconcerned about this. Eunice, on the other hand! She would never agree to this since she loves Matthew. "If they were siblings." Because Matthew will be my spouse, Cheska will be my sister-in-law!"
I mustered a grin and a nod before claiming I was heading to my room.
Meanwhile, Maurice was taken aback by Eunice's comments. She is aware of Matthew's strategy since they often converse. "Did I hear you correctly? Is Matthew going to be your husband?"
"... Don't take Eunice's joke seriously, Aunt Maurice." My first focus right now is the Thunder Pack, and if I ever marry, that person will be my match." Matthew made a serious statement.
Eunice sneers because she knows Matthew is single. "Perhaps you forgot about your pledge to my father, Matthew... If you don't find your partner by your twenty-third birthday, you'll be cheerful!" Eunice feels optimistic as Matthew's 23rd birthday approaches.
Before replying with a grin, Matthew poured new juice into the glass and put it. "... You're right, Alpha Connor and I made a deal." But, unfortunately, that will never happen since I have already found my mate."
Everyone in the dining room was taken aback and perplexed. They're not sure whether they'll take Matthew's comment as a joke since they know he's not seeing anybody.
"Alpha Connor, I'm sure you can find someone better for Eunice than me... Perhaps you can utilise this incident to choose who should take your position..." Matthew smiled as he added.
Eunice was the first to come to after the shock. "... Ha! Ha! Matthew is only kidding. We all know he's mateless, therefore he couldn't have met his mate!"
But Matthew just laughed. He strolled inside his room without saying anything. Everyone was left stunned and worried.
Maurice remained mute and continued to eat, but deep inside she sensed something... but she prefered not to meddle and instead waited.
To dislodge the clog in his throat, Connor coughed. "I'm done eating... Maurice, I'll go to my room and prepare," he said, his face contemptuous.
