Chapter 83 - Make me faithful
ANNALISE'S POV.
I buried my face in the crook of his neck, my lips parting as his scent filled me up. I didn't know what this was, this addiction to a man whom I should be running away from — a monster, a killer. This man had more blood on his hands than I had running through my veins.
I didn't know what this was. Definitely not love. It was something far, far more dangerous.
"Annalise."
I moved slowly, savoring the sound of my name on his lips. My fingers moved, my lips parting as I cupped the part of his face that was facing away from me, my fingers spreading against his skin.
He leaned a little closer, his eyes veiled by the thick lashes lowering down to my fingers. Slowly, he looked up to me, his lips parted.
I could see the vortices of emotions running around his eyes, the darkness swirling like waves of auburn seas, and I saw regret.
"You are here," I whispered, my thumb running along his face. "I thought you wouldn't come."
He blinked slowly, then shook his head. "Why would I ever abandon you here?"
"It's easier. It's easier to just..."
He covered the distance, his lips wet against mine, his breaths painting my skin in the color of his desires.
I closed my eyes like an obedient canvas, anticipating the art I knew I would come off with.
"I have never liked it easy," he whispered slowly, his right hand leaving my thigh to slowly caress up my side, till he could cup my neck, my hair intertwining between his fingers. "And so far, you have been the hardest."
My eyes met his, electric waves pulsing through my already flared-up blood, turning it a crimson, burning red.
I felt a single wave of determination fill my chest as I watched him like that, his fingers tending to these fires, his breaths slow against my face.
My eyes slowly left his, and I let my hand move further, my thumb running across my skin.
"I will regret this later."
He raised a brow, his eyes following mine as they dropped to his lips.
"I will make sure you don't," he replied.
I bit down on my lip, and his fingers pulled me closer, his head gently tilting, his breaths ragged. Hell. Hell.
I leaned in slowly, my breaths spiraling out of control, my heart thumping hard in my chest, my body cold.
His lips came within sight, my body immediately recognizing the desire that coursed through my spine. My eyes closed, and I moved closer, but the thumping of my heart made me weak, my knees turning to liquid, so I knew I would have fallen to his feet had I been relying on them.
It only made me realize how much I needed what he offered. How much I was deep down in this hole. Gone in this abyss.
I sighed against his lips and started to pull away. I can't be this dependent. What if... in the end... I wasn't that to him? What if in the end...
Suddenly, Sin's fingers left the side of my neck and wrapped around it instead, his fingers lightly pressing into my neck, his body heating against mine.
I gave a small gasp of his name as his lips met mine, immediately parting into the inner wetness, tapping into the hidden ecstasy.
I felt my body melt even further, his taste filling me, the warmth causing my heart to spiral.
His head tilted to the right fully as he moved slowly, pinning me back on the now-closed door, his thumb running along the lines of my throat.
This would be my very first willing kiss.
"Sin," I sighed into his mouth, but I wasn't even sure if I meant that as his name, or if I meant it as way more.
The things I desired. The things I wanted so fucking bad. The things his hand around my neck made me want him to do to me.
I slowly broke the kiss to catch my breath, my body leaning back on the door, my eyes glazed with clouds of desire and need. When I opened my eyes to meet his, they were dark with reflections of my own need, with reflections of the long pent-up need.
"You are..." He said, his fingers running down my side again, his eyes holding mine. "You are the taste I have been looking for."
My lips parted, but I could hardly let it out before he covered the distance again, his body pressing against me, my legs wrapping involuntarily around him, my fingers lacing in those beautiful locks of perfectly styled hair.
A bit of his blood had stained my fingers, but I didn't care for the world. I was on my knees in worship of a man whose layers I kept peeling, but would be glad to continue with that chore for the rest of my life.
When I pulled away again, I opened my eyes in time to catch his closed, to see the way his eyes looked once I was done kissing him. To see the art I could have made, too.
He looked absolutely perfect. Perfect enough for me to want him still, had it been another woman kissing him like I just had.
He left slow caresses on the edge of my face as he peeled me away from the door, then wrapped my body around him, his fingers cupping the nape of my neck, his body warm as he enveloped all of mine.
I sighed into his neck as he slowly lowered me back into the hospital bed. My eyes closed as my back touched the bed, his fingers still wrapped protectively around me, his body hovering above mine.
Slowly, he moved, his fingers coming back to gently cup my face. He didn't say anything for the longest while and just let his fingers read me the same way his eyes were.
"I..." I started to say, leaning closer into him.
He shook his head, his fingers caressing down my neck and stopping right above my chest. He leaned closer and gave a small chuckle against my earlobe, causing me to close my eyes, my body rippling with toe-curling emotions.
"Focus on your health. I will make you faithful later."
I nodded immediately, my chest heaving as he leaned away to hold my eyes yet again.
I wanted to be faithful. Make me faithful.
