Chapter fourteen: I'm done with you
Chapter 13.
(Lycan King POV)
The repast went so well with her.
It had been an extent since I ate peacefully without yelling and confrontations from the other party. As Beta Ernest led the way, my introspections were all about how beautiful Ellen was. She was just too flawless to have faced all that Alpha Greg did to her.
"She is mine now and would be given the fairest life," I muttered as we got to the small room that was not outlying from the building.
"Did you enunciate something, my King?" Beta Ernest raised a question as he wondered what amused me.
"No no. Not at all." I replied, shaking my head in affirmation.
I strode to where the couch was placed in the room and sat on it. "So, what plans can we make regarding her?" I asked my second commander who stood two feet away from me as his hands were positioned at his back.
"If I may ask, my King, who are you referring to?" he asked, looking confused.
"Stella," I said as I chafed my temples with my fingers. "Oh, okay. About that, I do not deem she is going to be home today. Before we left for Alpha Greg's house, I overheard her conversation with one of the maids. She said she needed to go somewhere." Beta Ernest said, gesticulating with his hands.
"Okay then. That is fair enough." I replied, sighing vehemently.
I dote on the fact that she was not going to be home. I have had a long day that ended in a good way. It would not be affable enough if an insatiable and hateful person decided to ruin it for me. If it was possible for me, I would have made her vanish forever. Her certitude was a pain in my entire body not just the neck.
"Have you done your research about the motive for the perspective of Alpha Greg towards Ellen?" I added in a way that indicated I was keen about it. "Not deeply but yes." Beta Ernest said and sat on the cushion next to me as I directed him to.
"The she-wolves in the Pale Moon pack made me realize that he had been like that since her existence in this world," he said. "And?" I asked, wanting to know more.
As if he read my mind, he proceeded, "He enjoyed beating and bullying her for no reason. That is another reason he kept her with him apart from them being marked together."
"Does he have anyone he is planning to take as a slave again?" I asked.
"No, not at all. I believe he took Ellen for a reason still incognito to me. But I'm going to disclose it as soon as I am aware." Beta Ernest said reassuringly.
"Okay, then. I trust you." I answered, knowing he was someone I could count on.
Skimming around, I sighed, standing to go into the main building. I had to check up on Ellen before she went to bed.
"I need to get my body relaxed for tomorrow's event, Beta Ernest," I said. "And I need you to get set too," I pronounced, looking at my Beta who appeared not to understand what I meant.
"Hmmm, I do not get my King. Get ready for what? I thought you said...."
I did not allow him to finish his statement when I cut in. "I am not talking about the war, Beta Ernest. I am talking about the engagement tomorrow. I was invited and I think the proper thing to do is herald the invitation." "Do you not think so?" I concluded, asking for his opinion.
"Oh...well...it is...a very good idea. Yes, it is fine." Beta Ernest said as he nodded his head in the pact.
"Thank you," I said, smiling at him. "You need to get some sleep too. Very crucial." I added as I slowly headed to the exit entrance.
"I will, my King," he responded as I left.
Entering into the mansion, everywhere seemed unusually quiet.
I walked calmly not to make any form of clangor and was about to take a step to get to the staircase when a bright light was pointed at my face.
"What the heck?!" I growled, flinging it off my face.
I hurriedly put on the light socket to radiate the area, only to see one of my worst enemies, Stella.
What was she doing here? I thought she had gone for the night and would not be back till the next morning. Can I just have the power to make her vanish right away?
"I see you have been creeping to do unimaginable things at night," she said, giving an annoying facial expression that seemed to trigger my animosity for her.
"Stella, I do not have time to rant with you tonight, please. I have had a long day and I need to relax." I said as I shoved her aside. "What did you just do now?! Ohh! You want to exterminate me the way you did to my sister and father right?!" Stella said, putting both hands on her waist and wiggling it like someone who has been stolen from.
"You want to get on my nerves, do you not?" I responded as I went two feet closer to her. She stylishly moved back and waved her hands in the air as if telling me to lock up.
"What nerves are you talking about? See, by the time I am done with you, you will wish you were never selected as the King." She answered back, snapping her fingers at me. Thinking that was all, she proceeded to exhibit more drama.
"I just want to warn you. There are just a few days left for you to decide and make a choice. If you do not, you know what will happen." she concluded as she came closer to me, stamped her feet on the ground, and whizzed for what seemed endless.
Then, she headed to her room.
"Are you being serious right now?!" I asked myself, looking around you see if Beta Ernest was there to witness all that happened the whole time.
"She is ambling on my toes and I will soon make life so arduous for her," I said, shaking my head.
I needed to see Ellen so I had to take away the disposition the ludicrous lady put me in and wear the best of them. If you must ask, it is too early to make such a case known to Ellen. She has been facing a lot in the Pale Moon pack and now, here? That would be an unfair way to show gratefulness for her choosing me over that useless Alpha.
Closing my eyes gradually as I took a deep breath, I got inclined to go meet my Queen. I desired she had not slept by now. If not a talk, at least, a good night's adieu is sufficient for me to have a nice night's furlough.
With such faith, I ascended the staircase and bore to her compartment.
