Chapter 15: Chapter fifteen: You can't run from me

(Lycan King's POV)

Not wanting to create a din, I voicelessly opened the portico ushering me to Ellen's room.

I was prudent not to make her conscious. I believe a whole lot had transpired that day and she ought to sleep. I just yearned to see her face before going to bed. Unhurriedly closing the doors behind me, I veered around to look in her direction, which I believed should be the bed.

The room was not well illuminated and so, it was hard for me to see well. Using my instinct, I sauntered cautiously to the bed and proceeded to use my right hand to check if there was space for me to sit.

My hand did more than I felt it would and I eventually swept it through a large part of the bed.

"Shit!" I exclaimed within me. I never wanted to make her wake at my arrival. She must have become awakened with the touch.

I paused for some seconds to see the comeback to my action but nothing took place. "Is she fast asleep?" I questioned myself, muttering.

I proceeded to abut the bed again and this time around, I took precautions. I slowly laid my hand on the bed, starting from my end, then, to other parts.

After a moment, I quelled.

I noticed something.

It was as if no one was on the bed. The pressure on the bed was lighter and the room also felt empty. Convinced about my introspections, I instantly swept my both hands through the bed and conceded I was right.

Reiterating the process to be sure again, I stood abruptly and headed to the place where the switch of the room was positioned.

I put it on and the room got illuminated.

Now, I could see apparently. That was great. The only bad part of this whole drama was that my Queen-to-be was nowhere to be found. I looked around the room and did not see anything.

This made me surprised and started to wonder about what could have gone wrong. Still maintaining quietude, I decided to go meet Beta Ernest and notify him of the current situation.

I had walked far from the bed and was now two feet away from the exit door when I stumbled upon something.

The part of the room was already filled with water.

"Why is this room filled with water? What is going on?" I inquired myself as I gesticulated with my hand.

The rate at which the water poured out became constant, thereby, affirming my thoughts.

"Something must be going on then. Why would water be gushing out from the tap?" I asked as I proceeded to go to the lavatory where I knew it could be from.

I opened the door slowly and suddenly stopped.

It was difficult to believe what I saw as it took me aback.

I fell to the ground at the sight of him.

"Al...pha G..G..rreg?" I asked in astonishment.

What was he doing here? How did he have access to this garden? I would never have thought the Alpha would be in a place like this. I had left him and the pack without disturbances. What else does he want from me?

There were a lot of questions and more that I needed answers to.

Still, on the ground, I pivoted without wasting much time and hurriedly crawled in fear. I could not let him touch me, never. I began reminiscing on the past encounters I had with him and in no time, I started trembling vehemently.

I wanted to go away from him entirely and so, I trudged as far as I was able to. It was strenuous for me to work because I had obtained an injury from the collision with a rock.

I was almost getting far when I felt a tension in my neck.

"Argh." I groaned, grabbing his hand I tapped it strongly. I was getting choked already and virtually out of whiff.

"You presume you can sprint away from me?!" Alpha Greg said, growling in a manner I had never seen since my eighteen years of staying with him.

"No...no. I am so.. more... try." I pleaded as I burst into tears of stringent pain.

"It is over Ellen! I so much despise you now and I am willing to take you out," he answered in a way that sent a cue of danger to my bones. I knew how cruel he becomes whenever he is determined to do something. At this point, no one, neither the Moon Goddess, can transform his mind.

He hauled me up and immediately slammed me on the floor, making my back crash hard.

I heard a crack in my vertebral column.

My eyes shot wide, my bones sagged, my brain froze for a moment and I went out of breath for some seconds.

The pain was ineffable.

"I am sorry!" I yelled, crying out so vociferous with my last resilience but it did not look like he was going to acknowledge my apology.

Looking at him in horror, I whimpered with fear as he squatted over me. The weapon with him had a sharp edge that depicted how easy it would be to infiltrate a person's heart.

"Just close your eyes and die a slow and peaceful death," he said, grinning broadly.

It was over for me. There is no expectancy of any kind at this point.

I closed my eyes and sobbed in dreaded fear. Looking back at the adequate times I had, hot tears dropped from my eyes down to my cheeks.

Even if I got slain now, at least, I was able to live the life of my pursuits. It does not matter if I did it within a short period. The most significant is that I was able to feel genuine happiness once in my lifetime and that was more than enough for me.

"Good girl," he said slowly, stroking my temples.

A shadow encircled me and at that instant, I knew he was about to carry his intentions out.

It became closer and the next minute, I felt a sharp pain in my chest.

"Ellen, Ellen," I called vigorously.

I had no idea what had happened to her. The tap was left sunken and she was in the bathtub with no clothes on. I could not comprehend what I had just noticed.

I hastily tapped her on the chest. She turned abruptly and let out a silent painful cry.

I had never seen her that way. Well, you could say we just started living together but this indication was dissimilar.

It was apparent she was having a nightmare or a bad dream. I had to snap her out and so I convulsed her vehemently.

Then, she opened her eyes immediately, gasping.
