“ Thank you Charles but I must politely decline seeing as I have already accepted another invitation “
My body feels as if it could burst into flame as my insides begin to flare up at the sound of her words and my immediate rage has already begun to consume me, I have no recollection of what I said next but knew I had to leave before my emotions got the best of me. Before I knew it I was in the back of my carriage and my vision began to buzz, the only thing I could here was

My ears burn and continuously ring, I cant allow myself to release my hands from the fists they have created themselves, and my vision begins to shadow. Another?

I choose to swallow my pride and take this first step towards her to find out there is another ? Although Helena and I do not have any history on any sort I can't help but to feel...betrayed in a sense. The sound of that word leaving her lips stung me no, it is killing me, it will continue to eat at me slowly until I am nothing...

As I sit in the carriage with her words on repeat in my mind I am silently going crazy thinking of all the things i would do to this other man. The thought of there being another option for helena makes me physically sick to my stomach as I begin to feel like the carriage is going in circles, my brain is turning into mush and my heart-
" Charles ? Hello "
Snapped instantly out of my thoughts by the sound of my brothers voice I see light being let in by the open carriage door and my brother, Theo, standing there looking a mixture of concerned and confused. Seeing that I cannot manage to form a sentence or even a word for that matter he sits in silence with me for a few short moments before speaking barely above a whisper.
" Your carriage has just been sitting her for no longer than about 10 minutes, brother and I were having a conversation outside when your carriage came to a stop , we were ready with our insults but sadly you never stepped out "
I shake my head and chuckle to myself
" aah so you were more concerned about your wasted insults brother ? "
He grins widely at my response and gestures his head to come out. I rise and push past him playfully once I step out of the carriage where he proceeds to laugh louldly and James stands ahead of us not to sure wether to laugh or be concerned
" is everything well brother ? I seen - "
I cut my younger brother off in the middle of his sentence with a swift move wrapping my arm around his head my forearm under his chin and rub my opposite hand ontop of his in an agressive playful manner, my other brother theo just standing with his arms crossed throwing his head back with laughter witnessing me horse around with our youngest sibling.
" brother I was just conerned- "
" you three enough ! "
I let go just as fast as I grabbed onto him and we all straighten ourselves out at the sound of my mothers voice. Looking in the direction of our front door she stands in the doorway with each hand rested on either side of her hips in her signature " stop embarrassing me " look. Theo and I struggle to hold our laughter in as James lets out a groan
" Mama it wasn't me this- "
" Enough! inside all three of you how old are you ! "
Theo and I burst out in laughter as we all walk into the house and couldn't help ourselves but to get progressivley louder as we got further into the house. Evertime we looked over at James to see his arms folded while he maintained a pouty look on his face we could not help the stomach clenching laughter that uncontrollably left our body.
" Boys enough ! must I ask again how old the two of you are !? "
At the sound of our mothers voice we share a look before collecting ourselves and getting our breathing under control. James stands with the same look on his face and Theo just stands with the same carefree, arrogant look he always has. My eyes meet my mothers whom I could feel had already had her eyes set on me, she was looking for an answer. Although I hadn't told my mother where I had went im sure she had an idea, breaking eye contact with her I clear my throat and take a small step back to where I have view of my two brothers.
" I have a great idea, how about the three of us step out for a bit "
Before my mother could even disagree I make my way back to where we entered and open the front door widely gesturing for my brothers to follow me, in which they do and swifty may I add as not to hear the wrath of mothers blatant dissapproval. Making our way to the carriage we can't help but share a chuckle or two at our own shenanigans before taking our turns in getting inside the carriage. James of course being the first to break out short lived silence.
" You lot musnt do that any long- "
" Oh silence brother please whatever are you talking about "
" That! That is precisely what I am speaking of, I am never allowed to finish what it is I am- "
" So you whine about it ? "
Hearing these two bickering instantly makes me regret my decision and I throw my head back with one shake of my head they stop abruptly and are able t stay silent for a few moments. But of course only for a few.
" Have either of you found any one to accompany you to the churchill ball ? "

I grit my teeth, why would Theo mutter the exact words I have been avoiding. Every feeling every emotion is brought back to me in an instant as if it were all waiting for the moment to come back to rush my mind and my body with such agony
