Chapter 75

Chapter 75

We stood there holding each other for quite a while, neither of us saying a word.

Amelia also came to the hospital to get bandaged up. When she saw us like that, she said to James with tears in her eyes, "James, my head really hurts."

She covered her already bandaged head, looking pitiful.

James glanced at her: "Isn't it already bandaged? It still hurts?"

Amelia responded: "It hurts. Can you come with me to find a doctor?"

"I'm afraid if I pass out again and fall, that would be bad."

James looked at me, then at Amelia, who seemed ready to faint any moment.

"James, if your brother were still here, I wouldn't bother you."

When Amelia didn't get his answer, she bit her lip and continued: "If it's not convenient, then forget it."

"I'll take her to see a doctor."

I tried to move and had some strength back, so I immediately pushed him away: "Where you go is your freedom, you don't need to tell me."

"Given our current relationship, I can't control you anyway. Besides, even before, I couldn't control you either."

Why should I torture myself!

I'm not a masochist!

Guilt appeared in James's eyes.

"James, my head..." Amelia went limp.

James quickly caught her: "I'll take you to find a doctor."

I blinked my slightly stinging eyes and turned to enter the hospital room to wait for Indigo to wake up.

Indigo slept for over an hour before waking up.

During this time, neither James nor Amelia came by.

I wasn't really bothered, but when Indigo asked, I covered for them: "They probably went to take care of something."

Although Indigo was a bit weak, she was still fierce when scolding people: "What could they possibly have to do? If James has something to do, why didn't he bring you along? You're his wife."

"Grandma, it's fine, don't get angry over such a small thing." I quickly comforted Indigo, worried she might faint from anger again.

"When he comes back, I'm going to have a good talk with him."

"Grandma, don't blame him, he went to take care of real business."

I covered for them, but who knew that idiot Amelia would dig her own grave?

They walked inside side by side.

James's eyes brightened slightly: "Grandma, you're awake."

Indigo kept a straight face: "Where did you go?"

Amelia looked apologetic: "Grandma, I'm sorry we're late."

"Just now, James took me to find a doctor to reapply the medicine, and I accidentally got my clothes dirty, so we went out again..."

"Shut up, I wasn't talking to you."

Amelia closed her mouth, and tears immediately came out.

"Cry, cry, cry, you're crying away all the good luck. Get out, I'm annoyed just looking at you."

"Grandma, she..."

"You shut up and get out, too. I'm annoyed looking at you as well." Indigo attacked indiscriminately.

Worried that Indigo would get upset again, I said irritably, "You should go out quickly. Grandma's body hasn't recovered yet, or it might get worse."

"Sophia, instead of speaking up for us, how are you making things worse?"

"Making things worse?" I laughed helplessly.

Indigo gasped: "Get out!"

Seeing this, James pulled Amelia away.

"Sophia..."

"Grandma, you don't need to say it. I know everything. I'm fine."

I comforted Indigo, stayed with her while she ate, watched her fall asleep, gave the caregiver a few instructions, and then left.

That person was provoking me again.

My phone crashed.

I went back to school for class and continued looking for the person.

I specifically wrote code to track him, but unfortunately, he was very alert and planted a virus on my phone before running away.

This game of mouse-teasing cat was making me a bit irritated.

I lay on my desk, listening to the people in front of me gossiping.

"Did you see the other day? Juniper was taken away by the police."

"I saw it. I wonder what she did."

"The school also issued a notice that they're going to expel her."

The school leadership actually didn't hold back at all. Aren't they afraid James will hold them accountable?

But this has nothing to do with me. I'm more concerned about when I can find that person.

When I got home, I lay on the bed, planning to rest for a bit.

Someone knocked hard on my door.

I got up to open it.

As soon as the door opened, before I could see who it was, a figure rushed in, pointing at my nose and cursing: "Sophia! You bitch! Did you scheme behind the scenes again to get my daughter expelled from school?"

I was startled. Looking closely, it was Freya.

"Freya, please use your brain." I looked at her coldly. "Juniper was expelled because she did something wrong. What does it have to do with me?"

"How dare you talk back!" Freya was furious and raised her hand to hit me.

I instinctively dodged to the side. Her slap missed me, and she almost fell from using too much force.

"You vicious woman!" Freya was embarrassed and angry and lunged directly at me to grab my hair.

I'm not someone to be bullied. I blocked with my hand and got into a scuffle with her.

"What are you doing!"

Just then, James's voice came from the doorway.

He had just entered and saw this scene, his face instantly turning dark.

"James! You're finally back!" When Freya saw James, she immediately let go and cried out, "This bitch not only got my daughter expelled, but now she wants to beat me to death!"

I straightened my messy clothes and said expressionlessly, "She started cursing as soon as she came in and hit me first. I was just defending myself."

"You're lying!" Freya screamed. "You clearly hit me first!"

"Enough!" James shouted.

The scene went quiet.

He looked at Freya, his tone somewhat helpless: "Freya, Juniper did something wrong in this matter. The school's decision is correct."

Freya made a scene regardless: "I don't care. Go tell the school right now to withdraw Juniper's expulsion."

"You're being unreasonable." James's face grew darker.

"I'm being unreasonable? James, how can you speak up for an outsider?" Freya pointed at my nose. "If it weren't for her, how would Juniper have gotten into this situation? Divorce her quickly! Her staying in the Smith family is just a disaster!"

"What did you say?" James's eyes turned cold, and a powerful sense of oppression emanated from him.

Freya was startled by his presence and didn't dare speak anymore, but still snorted in defiance.

"Go back first." James rubbed his temples. "I'll handle this."

"Handle it? How will you handle it? If you don't kick Sophia out of the Smith family, I'll..."

"Get out!" James finally lost his patience and roared.

Freya wanted to make more trouble, but James narrowed his eyes slightly, threatening, "Freya, you know my methods."

Freya didn't expect James to really get angry. She was scared.

Looking at James's grim expression, she didn't dare make any more trouble and quickly left.

After all, when he's really angry, he's cold and ruthless.

I sighed: "James, I can't wait anymore. I don't want to deal with these annoying things from your family. Let's go get divorced right now."
