CHAPTER 81

She Should Watch Her Back

Alexa looked at Penelope rather amused that the girl was showing her true colors rather early which surprised her.

She thought that she was just a girl that Maurice picked up, and if they could stay out of each other's sight there was not going to be any problem, but after what she just heard she knew that was not possible.

She was going to have a problem with the girl.

"Why should I leave for you?" Alexa asked, smiling sheepishly as the girl snorted hearing her words.

"Because you are never meant to be here in the first place…this was supposed to be mine," Penelope says, and Alexa smirked wondering where the feeling of entitlement came from.

"What! What did you mean by that this is all yours? Are you part of the Heather family?" Alexa smirked acting clueless, and Penelope smirked seeing that the lady was trying to get under her skin.

"You are funny Alexa, but I like that because when I make sure that you are kicked out you can survive as a clown," she says, and Alexa chuckles.

Penelope was surprised to see Alexa chuckling, and she wondered why the girl still had the cheek to laugh.

"You are laughing? Even when I just say I am kicking you out of this house?" Penelope asked, and Alexa shook her head.

"Yes, you are right, that's more like the joke of the year..you are barely surviving in the house, but you are still thinking of kicking someone out isn't that too much of a luxury for you…I mean you don't have that kind of power to kick someone out," Alexa says, and Penelope gritted her teeth hearing that.

Even though Maurice claimed to have been looking for her these years she could not find him with a sincere action towards her and he suspected her.

"That…you are wrong about that me and you know that Maurice cherishes me, and we are just getting familiarized with ourselves, but with time we are going to be fine," Penelope says, and Alexa sighed.

She has always suspected the relationship between Maurice and Penelope, but seeing how she was confident about kicking her out Alexa thought maybe she was dense and taking the matter with a levity hand.

She decided to leave the girl seeing that she wasn't saying anything meaningful.

"I don't know what gives you the right to think you are capable of kicking me out..I just want to let you know that you are not even in the least of things that I worry about so I hope you detest from trying to scare me," Alexa huffed.

Penelope hated Alexa's confidence, and she decided to say one more last piece to her.

"I don't know what gives you so much confidence I just want to let you know that…that's not going to last," Penelope sat taking the strands of hair away from Alexa's face, but the girl slapped her hands away making the girl groan a bit.

"Don't you dare to touch me again," Alexa says, turning around angrily, but her footsteps halted when she remembered a detail.

"Did you know that whatever you are thinking should be reversed," Alexa says, with a cunning smirk and Penelope felt unsettled with that.

"What did you mean.. " Penelope asked, wondering what the girl meant.

"I have the power to kick you out rather fast instead…don't forget that I am Mrs. Heather and you are just a stray cat my husband took in,"' Alexa says, turning away indirectly and telling the girl that she was at her mercy.

***************************

Maurice strolled into the bar owned by Benson, and looking at the tight securities littered around, Maurice could commend his friend for a job well done.

"Why did you call me here, once again," Maurice says, entering the private room Benson was in and he creases his eyes in disgust seeing his friend making out with a waitress.

"Really? Are you that shameless now!" Maurice roared, and the two disengaged from each other, and when the woman saw Maurice's angered face she scampered out of the private room.

"Ohh you are here," Benson says, wiping his lips and Maurice shakes his head at him mischievous.

"What are you doing? Always messing," Maurice said grumpily, and Benson shook his head.

"That's not called messing around…"Benson says, and Maurice is unapologetic to him as he goes to take his seat.

"What did you want?" Benson asked, winking at Maurice, and he wondered how he got himself a stupid friend.

"Don't you dare play with me..you asked me to come, and here I am..so don't you dare to think of bailing out," Maurice warned, and Benson hissed frustratedly.

"So if I don't ask you to come you would not bother with seeing your friend?" Benson asked, and Maurice sighed wondering why he took the man seriously in the first place.

"Looks like I will be leaving first," Maurice says, seeing that Benson is not serious and the man chuckles seeing his friend hurriedly move.

"That imposter in your house, what are you going to do about it?" Benson asked, and Maurice's steps halted hearing his words.

"What imposter? What did you mean by that?" He asked, and Benson hissed frustratedly.

"I am sure you know what I mean,..is that not why you asked me your man to search more about her?" He asked and Maurice, who was already about to leave, went back to his seat and he looked at Benson squarely.

"What did you find?" He asked, and Benson chuckled loudly. "I found out that this time you might actually have been fooled," Benson says, and Maurice bit his lips knowing that he could not be wrong.

"Why did you say that?" Maurice asked, and Benson brought out his phone as he shoved it in front of Maurice.

"That's everything you need to know about Penelope…the real Penelope, not the Penelope they want you to meet," Benson says, and Maurice's eyes dimmed seeing the details displayed on the phone screen.

"This…is this…" he was about to ask, but his voice betrayed him. Benson was silent, letting his friend familiarize himself with the details.

"I don't know who did that, but they have enough information to have been able to trick you," Benson says, and Maurice drops the phone rubbing his head.

He has suspected foul play, but he never knew that it was something that deep.

"Looks like you are not careful this time around, " Benson says, sipping his drink and Maurice's expression darkened hearing that.

'That's true I really let my guard down this time around'...
