Can't sleep
ALEXA'S POV.
I shouldn't feel the sting of rejection especially after what happened to me but I did feel it . It hurt to watch Adrian walk away from me . I wanted to sleep with him without sex or anything but perhaps he had a reason why he refused. With the door closed , l slowly climbed into the feed .
My body felt sore but I knew it that I had to sleep in order to feel better . I put my phone on the charger and waited for it to light up. Ten minutes later , it finally came to life .Messages popped up on my phone and I read them slowly . I waited for Mark's but l saw none , he didn't care , he perhaps wanted me to be raped. .
Feeling sad , I turned my phone to silence and snuggled into the pillow then tried to sleep . I tossed and turned for the next two hours. l tried think about the good memories but nothing worked . I squeezed my eyes to imagine myself with at least Adrian but instead thoughts about the other night came in my head .
The man's shoes came in my view and I felt dirty instantly . Without a second thought , l jumped from the bed and ran into the bathroom. I slipped out of my clothes quickly and got in shower again. I just couldn't bear up the thought of the bastard and so I scrubbed every part of me with a lot of strength , making my skin turn pink . I stayed sat in the shower for what seemed like hours until when the water started getting cold .
At that l jumped out and l got myself dry then walked into the dressing room . I looked at my bed after wearing my thin night gown but l couldn't bring myself to sleep in it . All l did want was to be where Adrian was . With that l took a deep breath before I sneaked downstairs to where Adrian was .
Adrian was fast asleep on the sofa , looking devilishly hot. I looked at the time and saw that it was gone past three . With no second thoughts , l climbed on top of him until l was between him and the sofa. Once l was laid close enough to him , l snuggled into his neck . I finally felt like I can sleep .
Though asleep he surprisingly lifted his arm so that I could get more closer to him. I instantly felt more safe . I also felt him kiss the top of my head. I wanted to say goodnight but sleep came fast and with his leg thrown on top of mine , l couldn't think of anything more .

I didn't know what time it was but when I woke up , l felt like sleeping again . It was already morning but I was still wrapped up in his hands . I rested my head in the crook of his neck and inhaled deeply . He really smelled good . By the time l opened up my eyes , l realized that he was awake looking down at me .
" Morning beautiful ",. He said in his sexy morning voice . It melted me and I smiled at him. " Good morning am sorry if I woke you up last night , l didn't want to be on my own ... I couldn't sleep , l wanted to be near you ", I bit my lip at the last words . He just smiled at my words before he ran his fingers through my hair .
As he did run his fingers through my hair , l looked over his shoulder to glance at the clock. It was past eleven and at that my mouth dropped open . " Work ?", My mouth fall open . He still just smiled and went on with stroking my face . The he was looking at me how was making the butterflies to go crazy in my stomach .
" You have to work , you might...... ",. " Am the CEO ", He cut me off in mid sentence . "' Did Mark anyway call you last night ", Hearing him say Mark's name made me feel annoyed . I was tired of him.
" He didn't text or call me ", l shrugged my shoulders . " He said that he is busy , whatever it is l don't care. ", I continued but he looks pissed off with my reply . Seeing him , I moved away from grip and sat up . " I need to face time with the kids ", l murmured with a sigh at the end. " Yeah how are they anyway ?", He asked and l smiled .
It was funny how Adrian has asked how they are and yet Mark has never called me to ask how the kids were .
I shook my head before meeting Adrian's ocean blue eyes . " Before l speak to the kids , I want to know more about the other night , when you told me that you found me ..... tell me everything including the lady ", Though l didn't want to pry in his life , l found myself talking about the lady .
He grinned mischievously at that before he reached and brought his hand to my chin making me turn to him . ". She is older than me and she is my father's assistant manager", He spoke every word while staring at my lips .
