CHAPTER 19: THE APOLOGY

I woke up slightly and decided to take a bath. I wanted to stand but a hand around my waist was restricting me from doing so. I slowly turned and saw Melvin beside me, his arm on my waist, he looked innocent as ever. I felt like a newly wedded woman. This was the first time we slept on the same bed and I was happy. Even having this incident could bring us to sleep together, I would not mind getting more beatings.

I slowly came down from the bed, I prepared a bath myself, and rubbed the dirt off my skin till I was satisfied, then I grabbed a towel and wrapped myself in it. Walking out and into the room I grabbed a simple gown and slid into it, then dried my hair with the towel. Even though I was all clean I felt dirty.

I walked over to the dining table, I was about to take the brush to comb my hair, when one of my hair pins fell down producing a lot of noise. The next thing Melvin was beside me holding my hands

"Are you okay!!" He asked, as his eyes scanned the whole of my body

"I'm okay, the hair pin made the noise" I told him as I bent to pick it up. My stomach growled, I was hungry since I didn't each lunch and now dinner

"We should go down stairs" he picked up his clothes, wore it and headed down, while I followed behind. Elvis! He was going to be downstairs. How do I face him? My bruises haven't healed yet. What do I tell them?

We walked over to the dining, as usual I sat beside Kiara while Melvin sat beside Diana. I looked around but Elvis wasn't here, Thank goodness

Kiara was the first person to notice my bruises face

"What happened to you Audrey!" She said in a whispering tone, yet half yelling. I remembered that Melvin had told me not to tell her anything.

"I bumped my head on my dressing table while getting to pick something up, you don't have to worry, I have taken some medication" I lied and she nodded

"What has been keeping you in your room Elvis' ' Alpha King said, I looked up and it was Elvis, he was looking directly at me, I was afraid once again, I looked down immediately to avoid others noticing.

"Are you sure you are fine,you don't look fine to me, I can hear your heartbeats from here" Kiara looked at me

"I'm fine" i faked a smile and began eating

"You promise to tell me your encounter with Elvis, tell me what happened, did he say anything concerning the past" she asked. I looked up at both Melvin and Elvis and they were both looking at me. I really wanted to tell Kiara the little that I heard. We started this together. I don't want to leave her behind, but I have no options.

"He didn't tell me about anything, he just wanted me to teach him more about the bow" I looked at her with a low expression. Now is the time for her to understand my expression, I wanted her to understand that I was lying without me telling her myself.

Kiara purposely dropped her spoon on the ground, she bent down to pick it up and then whispered to me

"Visit my room tomorrow morning" she picked up the spoon and looked at Elvis.

"Stupid thug!" She cursed and spat out her tongue at him. She was indeed the smartest person I have ever seen. She actually read my expression and pretended to Elvis she knew nothing. I smiled inwardly, I was happy she understood Everything and followed up.

"Audrey!!" Alpha king called my name and I looked at him

"Your parents replied to my letter, they would be attending the party tomorrow" I smiled, I couldn't wait to see my mom and my sister. I looked at Kiara and she smiled at me too, my eyes went to Melvin, he was smiling like an idiot too, "why was he smiling?" I frowned, and he stopped Smiling and began eating his food "weirdo"

"Tomorrow night will be a great day for all of us. You all must behave yourself, and not embarrass the family. Do I make myself clear, Melvin and Elvis!!!"

"Yes father" Both of the chorused

"I will be your make up artist, and good at doing it" Kiara told me

"I need to tell your parents that i am really taking good care of you, and that my stupid brother there is doing nothing" she pointed at Melvin

"Alpha King, can I still have Melvin as my date!!" Diana spoke up since we came to the dining, she wanted Melvin to be her date

"That won't work again Diana, he has a wife now," Alpha king replied. What does she think that she could take melvin away from me

"But he has always been my date every full moon!!" She pretended to be crying

"That's because he doesn't have a wife, now he does" the queen said

"I don't think she would feel bad, or are you going too" she looked at me, everyone's gaze was on me, I looked at Melvin and the idiot wasn't even looking at me, I guess he doesn't need me after all

"I don't mind, she can take him as her date" I told them with a smile. She could take him as his date but she would receive it hour from me one day, just one day

"Are you sure of that, Audrey?" The queen asked me, and I smiley

"Your request is granted Diana" she told Diana, who was already leaping for joy

"Audrey!!"

",I told you I don't want him anymore Kiara, am tired of fighting for him, he doesn't even want me, what's the need" she sighed before removing her hands that were on my shoulder

"Then I would be your date Princess Audrey, since I have none!!" Elvis said to my surprise, is he trying to do something to me again. I smiled at him, but I would never allow him to be my date.

"Don't worry I'm with you" Kiara whispered and nodded at me

Everyone had finished having their dinner, Alpha king and queen had gone to their Chambers, Melvin went away with Diana, I followed Kiara until she got to her room, and I headed towards mine

"Princess Audrey!!!" I heard my name, turning towards the direction, it was Elvis, has he been following me. I wanted to run but he was already at my front

"I know nothing about your past, can you leave me out of it, I can't kill, I beg you" I was already crying as I pleaded for Mercy

"I'm sorry!!"

"I'm sorry I had to force you to do something bad just for my selfish desire, I didn't know how I was badly controlled by my wolf form just for revenge" I stopped crying when he said those words, they were honest words coming out from his mouth.

I knew he was controlled by evil force, his past must have hurt him badly, that warranted him to do all this

" Can you please forgive me?" He asked again, and I found myself nodded, it wasn't it fault anyways

"Can you tell me all about what Happened in the past? How it connected to Melvin and why you both hated yourselves so much" I told him but he shook his head

"It's a painful past to remember,I can't tell you now, maybe some other time, I'm glad you have forgiven me, I promise to control myself now" he smiled and I smiled back at him

"Melvin is my husband, Even though he treats me otherwise, I won't dare do something to him" I told Elvis

"I know, I will figure out things myself, seems to me that I don't know everything that happened in the past too, thank you Audrey"

"You're welcome!!" I responded

"So would you gladly be my date tomorrow?" He asked again and I nodded, he looked cute and handsome just like Melvin,I couldn't bare to choose either of them

"Sleep well and goodnight" he said and left, I headed back to my Chambers, Melvin was standing in front of the door ,was he waiting for me or someone else. Not caring to Know, I walked past him and headed to the couch to sleep

"You can sleep on the bed" he told me

"The couch is comfortable, Thank you" I replied and layed on the couch

"Goodnight!!" I said to him and closed my eyes.I knew he was looking at me, but I had to stay still, so he would know I actually don't care anymore.

since he doesn't care for me, i won't care for him again. As far as i have kiara I don't mind anyone, she is the reason I'm still living today, she is like a god to me
