Chapter One Hundred And Thirty Four
Chapter One Hundred And Thirty Four
Serena’s Pov
I froze for a second, my pulse thundering in my ears as Killian’s hand gripped my wrist tightly. His breath was hot against my face, his eyes wild, and I could feel the anger vibrating off him.
“Killian, let me go!” I yelled, struggling against his hold.
But he didn’t listen to me. His strength overpowered mine as he tried to push me back onto the bed. I could feel the panic rising in my chest, my throat tightening.
He was muttering something under his breath; something about how I made him this desperate, how I forced his hand. Goodness! His tone made my skin crawl.
“Stop it! Stop this madness!” I screamed, twisting and trying to shove him off, but the more I struggled, the tighter his grip became.
“You should never have embarrassed me like that, Serena!” he growled. “You think you can humiliate me in public and get away with it?”
Tears stung my eyes out of rage. I pushed hard with all my strength, but he didn’t budge. His weight pressed down on me, and the feeling of being trapped filled me with disgust.
“Killian, this isn’t love! This is an obsession!” I shouted, my voice breaking. “You’re losing yourself!”
He chuckled darkly. “If this is what it takes to make you mine again, then so be it.”
I saw a small red light blinking in the corner and my stomach dropped. He wasn’t bluffing. He was recording everything.
My heart raced. I couldn’t let him have this control over me. I had to do something.
When he leaned closer, his face inches from mine, I did the only thing I could think of. I bit him hard.
“Ah!” he yelled, jerking back in pain.
His grip loosened just enough for me to kick him in the stomach, and he stumbled backward, clutching his side and groaning.
“You crazy…” he hissed, but I didn’t wait for him to finish.
I scrambled off the bed, rushed to the door, and unlocked it in one swift motion. The lock clicked open, echoing loudly in the room.
I stepped into the hallway, my chest heaving, my entire body trembling with adrenaline.
“Don’t you dare come near me again, Killian!” I shouted, my voice echoing through the corridor.
He stood in the doorway, still catching his breath, his expression a mix of fury and frustration.
“You can’t upload that video,” I warned, my voice sharp and shaking with emotion. “It’s obvious that you were forcing me. Anyone with eyes can see that.”
He said nothing, only stared at me with that dark, unreadable look that made my skin crawl.
“I’m warning you, Killian,” I continued, trying to steady my voice. “The next time you try something like this, you’re going to regret it. I’m only letting this go because I don’t want Theo to grow up without a father. But if you ever try it again…” I paused, glaring at him. “I won’t hold back.”
He clenched his jaw, his nostrils flaring. “You think you can threaten me?”
“It’s not a threat,” I said coldly. “It’s a promise.”
Then slowly, that arrogant smirk crept across his face again.
“Even if my other plan didn’t work,” he said, his tone shifting from anger to smugness, “you seem to forget something, Serena.”
I narrowed my eyes. “What?”
He took a slow step closer, brushing off his shirt where I had kicked him. “You’re still married to me.”
I felt my stomach twist.
“That’s right,” he continued, his smirk deepening. “No matter what you think, no matter what you tell the media or your precious Adrien, you’re still legally mine. That means you’re supposed to come back to me. That man should back off.”
I laughed bitterly. “You really think a piece of paper defines us?”
“Law does,” he replied smoothly. “And soon enough, so will you.”
“You’re delusional,” I spat. “You lost your chance the moment you chose your ego over your family.”
He chuckled in a low tone, shaking his head. “You’ll come back, Serena. You always do.”
I stepped back, my hands trembling, from so much fury in me.
“You’re wrong,” I said firmly. “I’ll never come back to this. Not to you.”
Without waiting for his response, I turned to leave and stormed towards the front door. My heels clicked against the marble floor, echoing through the quiet house. The moment I stepped outside, the cold air brushed past my face, and only then did I realize how fast my heart was beating.
As soon as I reached my car, I leaned against it for a second, taking deep breaths. My palms were sweaty, and I could still feel the faint ache in my wrist from where he had grabbed me.
“Get it together, Serena,” I whispered to myself. “Don’t let him break you again.”
I got into the car and gripped the steering wheel, staring blankly ahead. My reflection in the mirror looked exhausted, my eyes slightly red, but I didn’t care.
Killian had crossed a line.
All this time, I had been trying to handle things on my own, to protect Adrien from this mess, to keep my dignity intact, and to prove that I didn’t need Killian to survive. But this? This was too far.
I couldn’t condone it anymore. He was becoming dangerous, and I knew if I didn’t do something soon, it would only get worse.
My mind was racing as I started the car. I needed to talk to someone who would actually listen, and wouldn’t judge me.
And that was Adrien.
He was the only person I could turn to now. The only one who could help me make sense of this before Killian destroyed everything I had worked so hard to rebuild.
I pulled out my phone, my fingers trembling slightly as I scrolled through my contacts. Then I saw his name, and took a deep breath and let it out while staring at it.
I knew that there would be no going back if I involved him in it, but there was no choice.
