Chapter 254
"No, seriously, she's right over there!"
Samuel watched the figure walk further away, struggling to chase after her.
He couldn't wrap his head around it. He was such a catch, so why did she dump him?
He had to get some answers today!
"Let go of me! I need to go over there!"
Benjamin, fed up with Samuel's antics, grabbed his collar and rubbed his forehead.
"Even if there is someone, it can't be your ex. Get a grip."
Hearing the ex-girlfriend touched a raw nerve for Samuel. He immediately forgot about the figure and turned to pounce on Benjamin with exaggerated gestures. The two of them ended up in a scuffle.
Off to the side, Sebastian glanced in the direction Samuel had been looking.
He saw the figure disappear around the corner, his eyes narrowing slightly as he unconsciously leaned in that direction.
It wasn't until the woman was out of sight that he hesitated and looked away.
As Benjamin said, it couldn't be that much of a coincidence.
It was just a similar silhouette.
If he remembered correctly, Gloria's health was so poor now that she couldn't drink, let alone be here.
With that thought, Sebastian tried to push the image of the figure out of his mind.
Meanwhile, Benjamin finally managed to pin Samuel down and shot a resentful look at Sebastian.
"You brought him here, and you're just gonna watch him lose it?"
If it weren't for Sebastian asking Samuel to do something, they wouldn't have been dragged here to listen to Samuel's woes.
After all, they were good friends. Sebastian just standing by while Samuel lost it was too much.
"You brought him, you deal with him."
Benjamin disdainfully shoved Samuel towards Sebastian.
Samuel staggered over.
Sebastian sidestepped him.
"What?" Benjamin noticed something off about him.
Sebastian felt inexplicably uneasy. He pushed Samuel back and spoke in a low voice.
"You guys go ahead. I have something to take care of."
Without waiting for a response, he turned and strode in the direction the woman had disappeared.
Benjamin frowned at his strange behavior.
The next second, his attention was diverted by the still-crazy Samuel.
"I need to go! My girlfriend's over there!"
Benjamin looked at the back of Samuel's head, itching to knock him out.
"Shut up. If you keep this up, you'll never find another girlfriend."
Samuel froze and obediently closed his mouth.
Benjamin watched Sebastian's retreating figure, finding it odd but too tired to think about it, and prepared to leave with Samuel.
In the restroom, Gloria was hunched over the toilet, trying to vomit up the alcohol she had just consumed.
But after dry heaving for a while, nothing came up, and the burning sensation in her stomach only grew stronger.
Soon, she was drenched in cold sweat, too weak to even retch.
With a hand on her stomach and heavy breaths escaping her lips, Gloria's eyes sparkled with a hint of self-mockery. She knew her health had been ruined during those three years in prison, but she hadn't realized it was this bad.
She couldn't even handle one drink.
Who would believe that she was once the Russell family's socialite with a high tolerance for alcohol?
She glanced at the time. She had been in the restroom for quite a while.
She pushed her thoughts aside, braced herself against the wall, and stood up, planning to return.
Grace was waiting in the private room, and it wasn't polite to keep an elder waiting.
Having squatted for too long, Gloria felt dizzy as she stood, her body swaying.
Before she could steady herself, she started to fall out of the stall.
She reached out, trying to grab something to steady herself.
A hand caught hers firmly.
Then, with a bit of force, the man pulled her into his arms.
Surrounded by a familiar scent, Gloria was momentarily stunned. She looked up at him.
"Mr. Windsor, what are you doing here?"
Her eyes showed resistance. She pushed Sebastian away and stood on her own.
Sebastian frowned at her pale face.
"I should be asking you that. You can't drink, so why are you here?"
He hadn't expected to follow a familiar figure on a whim.
Even more unexpected was hearing the sound of retching as he reached the restroom door.
This was the second time Sebastian had entered a women's restroom in public.
Gloria knew he must have seen her in her most vulnerable state.
She lowered her eyes, her tone cold.
"It's none of your business. I wanted to drink, so I did. Thanks for catching me just now and preventing me from falling."
"Now I need to go back. Someone's waiting for me. Goodbye."
With that, Gloria started to walk away, wanting to distance herself from Sebastian.
As she passed him, he grabbed her wrist.
Gloria pursed her lips and struggled.
"What do you mean by this? I thought I made myself clear last time. I don't want any more contact with you. Let me go."
From Sebastian's perspective, her stubborn profile stood out starkly in the dim restroom light, her face colorless and her lips nearly devoid of color. He tightened his grip and turned to lead her out.
Gloria couldn't help but recall the first day he brought her to the Windsor Villa, feeling even more resistant.
"Let go of me. My friend is waiting! What do you want, Mr. Windsor?"
Her voice was strained with emotion, making the pain in her stomach worse.
She wanted to say more, but she was too weak to speak, partially pushed and partially dragged by him.
Sebastian called Benjamin.
Benjamin quickly answered.
"Did you handle it?" Benjamin asked, with Samuel's wailing in the background.
Sebastian's voice was low. "Where are you now?"
Benjamin covered Samuel's mouth.
"At the entrance. Just brought the car around. Samuel wants to go to the next place. Are you coming?"
Sebastian replied, "Wait for me. Take me back to the villa first."
Benjamin was puzzled but didn't ask more over the phone.
"Got it. We're at the entrance. Hurry up."
Behind him, Gloria heard his words and struggled with all her might.
"I'm not going! I have my home! If you really care about me, let me go back!"
She struggled fiercely, and Sebastian's eyes flashed with annoyance. He pulled her into his arms.
Gloria had no room to struggle, like a doll in his embrace.
"If you don't want to pass out from the pain, stay still. You need to see a doctor."
With her quieting down, Sebastian's actions softened, and his tone became gentler.
