CHAPTER 25

Emmy The time has come for Carter and me to move into the coven manor along with Alice, Ryan, Brie, Bex, and Avery. I drive Carter’s car over while he takes his bike. We fit everything we need in his car. I gave my car to a charity. We don't need two cars plus I know Carter will be on his bike as much as he can.

It was move in day, and I’m excited and nervous as hell at the same time. I have said goodbye to my dad and sisters. I’m on my own with Luna, Carter, and my team. Vivian dropped the bomb on me that I’m to be the leader. She said it was my destiny, or some crap like that. Whatever. I don’t think I’ll be good at it, but you never know stranger things have happened.

I’m shown to a room on the east side of the manor. Us girls have a huge apartment type room. There are two sets of bunk beds built into the wall. They are big and roomy. There are steps in the middle of the two sets that go up to the top bunks. Alice and I take the top two while Avery and Brie take the bottom two. We have a huge bathroom with a shower stall, a soaking tub, a steam room, double sinks and of course a toilet. A small kitchen with a table and chair set. There is also a medium sized living area with couches, chairs, a desk with a chair, and a complete entertainment center.

The guys have a similar setup, but they don't have bunk beds. There are three double beds in a room with closets. Us girls have an open floor plan; the guys have a more compartmentalized floor plan. Our bathroom is the only thing that has a door. The guys had a similar bathroom, kitchen and living room area.

Ryan has his pet pit viper snake that is all blue named Spike as his animal companion. He bought his motorcycle as well. Apparently all three guys ride. Ryan has a crotch rocket while Bex and Carter have Harley’s. At least the guys can bond over their toys. I’m glad Carter can make friends with the guys. Bexton and Ryan have been great with accepting Carter.

Avery is Bexton’s soulmate. She has a weird history. She was a spirit or a ghost for some time while she was in a coma. They met while she was still in spirit form and Bexton helped wake her up from her coma. That’s all the details I have for now. Avery has a petite body shape with slender hips. She has milk chocolate hair that goes a bit past her shoulders. Her hair has a slight natural wave to it. Her deep brown eyes compliment her hair. Her ivory skin tone makes her look like a porcelain doll.

Alice sits on her bunk with her black raven, Misty. I put my clothes and stuff away in one of the closets near the bunk beds. Avery is reading in the corner, and Brie has set up a little painting studio for herself. Our room overlooks the gardens which are pretty. We also have a balcony. It’s cute and would provide Brie with a great place to paint.

The guys don't have as good of a view as we did. Their room overlooks the front of the property, but they don't care. Guys don’t really care about crap like that. They can see their toys from their room in the garage, and that’s really what they care about. The guys all go out for a ride even before they are settled in. Something about there being awesome hills and winding roads for them to go on. I honestly stopped listening when they started talking about their bikes and the crap they could do.

Everyone is settled in. We are all meeting in the main dining hall for dinner. There is so much chatter and life as we all bond and get to know each other better. Vivian is watching over us like a mother hen. There is tons of food, and it all is amazing. We were eating healthy right now to help build our strength. There is steak, chicken, and white fish with veggies, and rice. The food is so good; I wonder if Jason was cooking for us.

At the end of dinner, I take a walk with Carter around the manor grounds. We are holding hands and talking about random things. Luna walks in front of us and she is sniffing everything she can. I’m glad Carter is with me. I’m freaking out a little, but somehow, I stay strong.

As I walk with Carter, I wonder what it would have been like if my mom had found her soulmate. I’ve been thinking about my mom a lot lately. I’m sad that she isn't here. I wasn't angry anymore. My mom would have found a way to make this experience exciting. I know I have Kenzie, Vivian and Jason, but they aren’t my mom. I miss having her around.

After my walk with Carter, I kiss him goodnight and head into my room. I shower and then snuggle up with Luna on our bed as I read. We are all going to bed early to get a good night's sleep. We start training in the morning and it’s going to be intense. We have already been warned to get lots of rest because our bodies and minds will be pushed to the limits.

Soon all of us are in our beds with the lights out. We are all nervous for tomorrow because none of us knows what to expect. There is this huge burden on us to save the magic world, so many people depend on us and we are all a bit freaked out. The last three weeks this situation didn’t seem real, but now lying there in bed at the manor the situation has become very real.
