LEFT HER BOYFRIEND
LEFT HER BOYFRIEND
CHAPTER THIRTY-SEVEN
CHRIS
Dylan slammed his hand on the table and pointed a finger at me angrily. He was not someone who could control his temper and so it did not shock me that he was acting like this.
Besides, he was forced to be here, and so he would definitely act out. Dylan....he could not compare to his brother at all.
How James had a brother so stupid even though he was outstanding and how Diana was so hostile to James brother and mother even though she and James were supposedly madly in love....they were so many things about this family I wanted to know.
"If you don't want to buy, then don't buy. Do you think that I have to sell the land to you? There are so many people that want to buy the land!" He yelled.
"Really?". I asked, a sarcastic smile on my face. "If they were so many people who wanted to buy the land, then you definitely won't have asked me to come out because you want to sell to me. I initially thought that you wanted to play tricks with me but...." I paused and gave Dylan a sorry look, and then shook my head in disdain.
There's no way that someone like you can trick me!" I said.
Dylan pointed a finger at me, his hands shaking, his eyes filled with anger and murderous intention.
However, he still could not say something to me. I was further convinced that something had happened that was forcing him to sell the land to me.
I frowned, going back through ell of the events and wondering what could have made Dylan change his mind and be so eager to sell the land to me.
The only thing that I could think of was Diana count to see him yesterday. So something had really happened?
"Whatever. Do you think I have to beg you? If you don't want to buy then don't buy!" He snapped at me once again.
"Do you think that I am an idiot, Dylan? You refused to sell to me yesterday and you want me to buy it today. It's obvious that something has happened. I will only be buying the land at a third of the original price that I offered, if you don't want it, you can get lost!" I snapped.
I was still a businessman after all and I prioritized making profits above everything else. Since the opportunity has been presented to me, there was no way I wasn't going to use it.
"You.....you....."
"Are you selling or not?" I asked, a calm smile on my face.
"Fine! Just take it and get the heck out of my face. I never went to see you again," he said.
"Don't worry, we share the same sentiments," I muttered.
However, I had a feeling that we would be meeting each other a lot more. I wasn't done with this person just yet.
I didn't say this part out loud to him though. Although Dylan was an idiot, I had heard that he had a pretty smart mother behind him.
I didn't want to alert that woman first.
A few minutes later, his secretary was walking in with file and we signed a contract.
The payment was processed and the land was mine. Dylan's face was dark, and it was obvious that he would have been able to get a lot more for the land if he had not encountered me.
In fact, I was willing to pay a lot more, something just happened that worked in my favour.
I thought Dylan was going to leave as soon as we signed the contract, however, he sat there, stewing in anger.
I raised an eyebrow as I watched him with interest on my face. Did he just like making himself angry or what?
"Do you really want to know what happened yesterday?" He asked, a bitter smile on his face.
I froze when I heard this, but this, I quickly adjusted my expression.
Although I was curious, I did not want Dylan to see this.
I looked up at Dylan's face and realised that he would not have noticed anyway.
He was still stewing in anger, too annoyed to pay attention to my mood.
"It was Diana, she came to my mother and threatened her. She told my mother that if I didn't sell the land to you, she was going to make up lies about our family. She was James wife, and so of course people would believe her!" Dylan ranted.
A shocked look appeared on my face. It turns out that yesterday.....my imaginations had been true.
Diana did go over to Dylan's house because of me! In spite of my shock, there was a part of me that was genuinely happy.
Why would she do something like this for me? I didn't know....but I was still happy that she did it for me.
That woman.....it was impossible for me to know what Diana was thinking.
She really went out of her way to help me! Althou, I did not believe that part of Diana saying she would spread lies about their family.....she must know something about Dylan and his mother that she threatened them with. Dylan was just trying to hide what she knew.
But Diana didn't have to do this....and yet she still did. It made me feel sweet inside.
I could not hide my smile, and Dylan noticed it this time.
"Are you happy knowing that she helped you? Do you think that you are lucky because she did this for you? Ha, let me tell you, it's not because she loves you. A woman like Diana loves no one else but herself. She is doing this because she wants to get your favour. You are rich after all, and she seems to like rich men! " Dylan said, his hate for Diana showing.
I was angered when he said this. Dylan still had not learned his lesson.
"She did the same to my brother, she had a boyfriend back then, and yet she left him to marry my rich brother! "
