CHANGE HIS MIND
CHANGE HIS MIND
CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX
CHRIS
"Where did you say she is? " I asked, clutching the phone tightly to my warn I really didn't want to care about Diana when she stormed out.
But then, it was late, and even if I wanted to harden my heart, I really could not do it. Damn it, that woman had such a chokehold on me and no matter how I tried, I could not push her out of my mind completely.
I hated to admit it, but Diana had a chokehold on me that I could not shake off no matter what.
"She left Dylan's house not long ago, " I was informed.
"What?" My brows creased as I tried to think of a reason why she would be there.
Diana had said something about wanting to fix things....was that why she went there?
But that was her ex husband's house, and she didn't seem like she had a good relationship with all of those people.
Why the heck would she want to go back to that house? Was it all because of me?
It was stupid, and extremely dangerous, but for a split second, I let my heart race about the thought of Diana going back to a place that she hated because of me.
She was worried about me losing the land and so she went to talk about it with Dylan.
A smile spread out across my face as I played with this thought.
Actually....she didn't need to do any of this, although Dylan's land was my first choice, it didn't mean that I couldn't get another land if I wanted.
"Diego showed up and picked her up from there,"my informant's voice sounded, breaking all of the fantasies that I had.
I sneered coldly, mocking myself in my heart. Of course.... what was wrong with me? How could I think that Diana cared about me?
From James, to Diego, there was always someone else, and I would never be a top priority for her!
In fact, it seems she went there for Diego's sake, and not mine!
How stupid could I be? I mocked myself coldly in my heart. Even though I had been fooled and used over and over again, I still held hopes towards Diana ... thinking that I was wrong and misunderstood her.... thinking that she was going to consider me for once....
"I got it," I said and ended the call before the person could say anything else.
Walking over to the window, I looked outside and saw a car pull up outside the hotel.
It was a familiar car, and I squinted my eyes. Diana got down from the car, and soon, Diego came hurrying after her.
I sneered, of course it was both of them.
I wanted to look away, but ultimately, I could not bring myself to do this.
I was starting to wonder if I had some masochism inside of me. Why was I insisting on making myself suffer like this?
Diana smiled at him and she tried to walk inside however, Diego pulled her back.
He sisd something to her, and Diana frowned. She shook her head, and tried to leave again but Diego pulled her into a hug.
It was really annoying for me to watch, the entire scene was burning my eyes. Did they think they were some movie stars?
I was so bitter watching them, and I really could not bring myself to do it anymore.
Thankfully, my phone rang, forcing me to take my eyes away from both of them.
It was an unknown number, and I picked it up.
"Hello?" I said into the phone skeptically.
"Hello, I am the secretary of Dylan Rodd. Mr. Rodd will like to arrange a meeting with you tomorrow. He would like to discuss you buying the land, if you're still interested of course," the person said.
I was speechless when I heard this. Dylan wanted to sell the land to me?
I snorted, "is this some kind of joke?" I asked.
"No, of course not sir," the person on the other end of the phone said professionally.
"What games is Dylan up to this time?" I would rather believe that Dylan was up to some kind of tricks instead of thinking that he wanted to sell the land to me.
It was just too suspicious.
"I really don't know anything. My boss just asked me to make the call and confirm the appointment. He wants to meet at the café of the hotel you are staying at. Would you be available?" He asked me.
My lips curled up in a sarcastic smile. I could not deny that I was looking forward to seeing what Dylan was planning to do.
"I'll meet with him," I said.
.......
Dylan had a frown on his face when he met me the next day. It was obvious that something had happened.
"The land will be transferred over to your name as soon as the payment is confirmed. I agree to the price you stated previously," he went straight to the point, not wasting any words at all as soon as he sat down.
"No, I won't be paying that anymore. I will only be paying half of that!" I said.
