FIX THIS

FIX THIS
CHAPTER THIRTY ONE

CHRIS

"Yes, it's impossible that we will get the land from him at this point. We will just have to go with our second choice. I have something to take care of so I can't come right now," I was speaking to someone on the one about how things had developed here.

Although I had lost the opportunity to buy that land from Dylan and although it would put a dent in my business plans, I did not regret anything I did.

That bastard deserved it, and if Diego had not showed up, I would have done worse to him.

Just what kind of life did Diana live after her husband died? No wonder she had to run back to a place she swore she was never coming back to!

I shook my head, I couldn't believe that I was worried about Diana now. After all is the things she did, it could only be karma hitting her now!

However, I just could not ignore her plight. And I definitely could not ignore that bastard trying to hit on her.

He deserved way more than what I did to him!

"What exactly happened, Chris? You're not an impulsive person, and so it doesn't make sense that you lost your temper just because of Dylan. He had something you wanted, couldn't you have held it in until you got back?" The person speaking on the other end of the phone asked me.

His words made me frown, and my heart was restless. He would never understand....I seemed to lose all of my hard-earned self control as soon as Diana was involved.

Taking a deep breath, I tried to calm my voice.

"It's not a big deal, Dylan is an idiot and we would have had other problems working with him anyway. His brother is no longer around and with Dylan running that company, it's bound to lose its place in the business world sooner or later. It would be best if we had no involvement with his company when it starts going down," I said.

I wasn't saying any of this out of spite, I truly meant those words, as a businessman.

Dylan was obviously not smart enough to run a company, and although he was having fun playing CEO now, he was bound to run into problems sooner or later.

The corner of my lips curled up in a cold smile. I still felt pissed that I didn't teach Dylan a lesson the way I wanted.

Perhaps there would be an opportunity for me to stomp on him even more in the near future.

"Are you even listening to me, Chris? Anyway, what are you doing over there and why can't you come back? It's already not going to work out, just leave that place," Kelvin said snappily.

I pursed my lips without responding. How was I supposed to tell him that I was still here because I was waiting for information about Dylan and Diana's dead husband?

If Kelvin found out that Diana was back in my life again then....

Anyway, he will find out about it sooner or later. It was useless for me to think about.

"Whatever, I can't continue to run your company for you. You need to come back here as soon as possible. That woman, Cynthia keeps coming over to the company to talk about the collaboration but I know damn well that she just wants to see you. Actually Chris, have you ever considered getting together Cynthia? She may be a bit funny but she does have feelings for you. She really loves you and she's willing to hand over her father's company to you. Perhaps this is what you need right now...."

Kelvin was still talking when I ended the call. I didn't went to hear anything about that woman, Cynthia.

I had already made it clear that I had no feelings for her but if she wanted to make a fool of herself then she was welcome to be my guest.

Thinking of something, I turned my head and my eyes landed on Diana who was hurdled on the only sofa in the hotel room.

She had a pale look on her face, and she still looked shocked.

I sighed, a bitter feeling settling inside of me. She had been this way ever since I dragged her back, and I had no idea what I was to say to her.

Seeing her like this made me want to beat Dylan up badly. However, this was his turf. He probably would not let me leave easily if I touched him once again.

It was never too late for me to take revenge, but seeing Diana like this gave me a lot of mental pressure.

She was always a cheerful and charismatic woman before she married. However, after she came back, everything changed.

She seemed to have a dark aura around her now. What exactly happened to Diana in her five years of marraige?

My feet moved before my brain did, and I found myself approaching Diana.

I stood in front of her, unsure of what to say. I reached my hand out to her but in the end, I could not touch her the way I wanted.

Instead, I pulled my hand back.

"Diana, you don't need to worry about that person. He will never lay his hands on you again. No matter what he did to you in the past, I already took care of him so...."

"Did I ask you to?!" Diana interrupted me and she snapped.

Her eyes were filled with annoyance that was directed at me, and it shocked me .

What the heck was this?! I had saved her from Dylan, and it was one thing that she wasn't even grateful to me, but she seemed to be blaming me?

I frowned, and the anger inside of me was threatening to burst out.

"Diana, don't forget that I saved your life!" I snapped back at her.

"Well, I never asked you to! Because or this....you lost the opportunity to buy the land. Now, we have to fix this!" She yelled.
