Chapter 81 You Are A Constellation

Chapter 81 You Are A Constellation
Purple’s POV:

I know I always like to think my parents were the perfect couple and that I was the golden, spoiled child, but if I let myself think otherwise, I lose every happy memory I had with my dad.
Memories of how we were as a family are precious, but when I let myself think about the horrible arguments they had when they thought I was asleep, I realize how toxic their relationship truly was.
They once had a massive argument about having another baby. My father had asked me how I would feel about a sibling, and I was super excited, but Mom kept telling him she wasn’t a hundred percent sure she was pregnant and would have to do a test.
After the test, Mom came home happy, and I thought we had a baby on the way, but it turned out she was happy because there was no baby. Dad got angry, they fought, and she admitted she didn’t want another child. What I failed to understand then was that she didn’t want another child...with my father.
Right now, she is willing to carry Paul’s baby, meanwhile, she wouldn’t do that for my dad.
Two days have gone by since she told me about her pregnancy, and I haven’t spoken to her since. This morning, I talked to Harry, but I couldn’t bring myself to tell him what was going on here. When he asked, I simply told him we were having fun, but I have a feeling he didn’t buy it. Right now, he’s on a flight heading to Bernoi, and Etsy is busy renovating her house with her mom.
Rose wasn’t available, so I couldn’t talk to anyone. I scrolled through social media to watch my friends’ holiday updates. I was deep in the feed before someone knocked. I sighed. “Come in,” although, truthfully, I just wished the person would leave.
“We have a visitor; I want you to meet him,” Mom said. I continued scrolling. Leone had posted a music festival flier—was she going to sing there?
“Get dressed and come downstairs,” she commanded, then left as if her words were final. I heard her retreating footsteps and scrolled once more. Seeing the next post… I felt my heart shatter into a thousand pieces.
I quickly sat up, my hands shivering as I took a good look. Tania from the "Shake Shake" girls had posted a photo. She was in the living room of our shared apartment with Harry. They were sitting close to each other, and he looked lively, probably laughing at something she said.
That girl even had the guts to caption the photo: The Pair Roonie never expected
My eyes stung. I took a screenshot of the post and sent it to Harry. He wasn’t online because he was on a flight, but I didn’t give a fuck.
´You both look lovely.´
I sent the message and then screamed, my chest hurting and my throat as dry as a desert.
Love wasn’t good for one’s health, but we still wanted it anyway.
I heard hurried footsteps, and then Paul rushed into my bedroom with Mother. They both looked at me with worried expressions. A tear finally rolled down my cheek and Mom hurried over, sat next to me, and pulled me into her arms.
“Oh, my Pancake, what happened? No need to cry… just tell me about it.” She rubbed my arms, but I shook my head. Tania has never looked at Harry with anything aside from lust; she was hungry for him. I knew they had history—she was his ready-to-fuck girl—and I thought that had changed, but he was still messing with her.
Why did he have to say yes to me if he was going to mess around with some Shake Shake girl?
“What is wrong? Speak to us!” Paul stood there with creased brows, but I couldn’t say anything. How do I tell my mom I was hurt because I chose to love Roonie’s biggest bad boy and didn’t expect him to go around whoring?
“Nothing… it’s nothing.” I hugged my mom tighter, and she let me cry in her arms.
“Paul, go handle your guest… we will be down soon,” she told her husband. He looked at me one more time, nodded, and walked out of the room. Once he was gone, Mom broke the hug and stood up.
“Are you crying over a boy?” My mom once told me I was the complete image of her, so she always knew how I felt because she once felt that way. “What’s the name… uhm, Yvan? Yvan, right? What did he do?”
She folded her arms with a frown, as if she were willing to go down to Roonie and teach Yvan a lesson.
I sniffed and wiped my tears, though it was worthless because they kept rushing down. “We broke up weeks ago,” I let her know before pulling the duvet over me, ready to sink my head into my pillow so she would leave.
“So who is it this time around? I hope he is at least worthy of holding a hand close to you.”

I looked up at my mom with teary eyes. “You must think of me as gold,” I chuckled between my sobs. I was a girl who had no idea what her future would look like; I didn’t even know if I wanted to be here right now. At Roonie, everyone had their lives figured out.
Etsy wanted to be a game designer, Chris and Harry were set on being riders, and Leone would either be a singer or return home. They all had plans, but I was just a stupid girl stuck in books.
And with the percentage of me ending up handicapped hovering around forty percent, the question my mom should really be asking is whether I am worth enough to receive love.
“Gold? Did you just say gold? Honey, you are a fucking constellation.” She smacked her lips, returned to the bed, sat down close and gripped my shoulder. “You are the brightest and most beautiful constellation, made of a million stars. Do you have any fucking idea how much light you brought into my life? So, don’t you ever sit here and cry over some boy.”
I sniffed and nodded, because my mom was, in her own way, the best. She paused, and her eyes twinkled with mischief as she leaned in a little closer. “You are the entire damn galaxy, my Pancake, and if anyone has anything to say against that…” She grinned. “Tell them to talk to your mama. I will handle the rest.”
I let out a soft chuckle, shaking my head with a smile, even though I knew she wasn’t bluffing. Mom wiped my tears with a smile. “That’s my constellation. Now, freshen up and come meet the guest, okay?”
I nodded and gripped her hand as she stood up to leave. She looked down at me with raised brows, waiting.
“Congratulations....the baby.” I should have said it sooner, but I had been so engulfed in that little bubble where I felt like the world only revolved around my own pain.
