Chapter 36

Ivy wasn’t going to let him get away with this. There had to be a way to get away from him. She would find a way; she needed to find Drake and see if he knew if Quinn knew where their son was. She was afraid Quinn would bring their son there and then it would truly be over for her.

Ivy was scared of this place, she wanted to find a way out, but she knew it was going to be impossible. She wondered if she could convince Drake to help her get out or if he was under Quinn’s rules. She wondered if he would betray everything he knew and help her out. She felt something for him, she wondered if he was true to his words and that he loved her too or if that was something he lied to her to keep a little control over her. “Ivy,” Drake called.

Turning to face him, she wasn’t sure what to say. “I’m sorry.” She said frowning at him.

“For what?” he asked confused. “I should be the one saying I’m sorry.” He said pulling her closer to him. “I hope he doesn’t find our son.”

Ivy looked at him confused. She wondered if he was playing with her head to confuse her more, or if he was true to what he was saying. “You mean he doesn’t know where he is?” she asked.

“No,” he said shaking his head. “Isaiah and his wife won't give him away and is refusing to tell anyone where he is.” He said half smiling. “If I know those two they will die to keep him safe.”

“Don’t count me out yet,” Quinn said coming up to them. “Just because you think they can hide him doesn’t mean I won't be able to find him, I will find him, and when I do I am going to kill Isaiah and his wife very slowly and I will make sure they die in front of the both of you.”

Ivy wanted to attack him and kill him, but she knew she wouldn’t be able to kill him. Quinn was an Alpha; she would die quickly. She was afraid of Quinn. He was buff, and he carried himself well. He had this dark energy around him, when people were around him they knew to fear him. Ivy wasn’t afraid of him, she couldn’t be. Quinn saw that he liked that about her. “And I will make sure your death is slow and painful.” Ivy snapped.

“Don’t threaten me, dear wife.” Quinn mused. “I love it when you talk dirty, we have a dinner party to go to, and then tomorrow you are going to see the doctor see when you will be fertile again so we can make another baby.” He smiled before he left them standing there. “You will be ready by seven, both of you.” He said without looking at them.

Ivy frowned; she didn’t want to have another dark dweller baby. She thought about Evan, she already missed him. She wanted to hold him again. Tears formed in her eyes; Drake saw that. He pulled her in, she sobbed in his neck. “I am not going to become his breeder,” Ivy said shaking her head.

Drake wanted to kiss her, but he knew she wouldn’t allow it; he couldn’t bear her being upset. He wanted to help her get out of there but knew there wasn’t a way out of there. Maybe at this party, but there was a slim chance they would get out alive. He would try and figure out a way to get her away from Quinn whether he lost his life for her it didn’t matter anymore, only she did. “I don’t know if you have a choice,” Drake said with a sad face.

Ivy pulled away from him, she wiped the tears from her eyes, she had to become strong for herself, she knew this was going to get harder and harder and she couldn’t help being weak. “I am getting out of here before that happens,” Ivy said crossing her arms. “You better help me get out of here.”

“There isn’t getting out of here Ivy, that amulet is ensuring you can’t get out of here,” Drake said touching it. “That is some powerful magic, he doesn’t want you getting away this time and I don’t think there is a way for you to get away.”

“Well, he doesn’t know me then,” Ivy said looking down at it. “My parents were stubborn they should have given me away. I wouldn’t be here right now if only they would have been less selfish.” She frowned. “I need to go for a walk and think about what I am going to do, come find me before Quinn finds me.”

“Okay, I’m sorry about all of this Ivy, I am,” Drake said taking a step towards her, but he knew she was getting a little more upset. He needed to go back to their realm and talk to one of the white dwellers and get something set up before they left for the party otherwise Quinn would figure them out and it wouldn’t work out. “Don’t worry Ivy things will get fixed, but you have to trust me.”

Ivy walked away from him, she didn’t want to keep talking about this, she knew she would find a way out of there she had to. She watched how everyone seemed to enjoy life, how no one wasn’t smiling. They didn’t know what they were missing out on where she was from. She wondered if they were under a spell. Maybe Quinn had them under some kind of magic.

“You could have a good life here Ivy,” Quinn said.

“I don’t want to have a life here.” She said turning to face him.

“Why don’t you want to enjoy it here?” Quinn said walking closer to her. “You have everything you could ask for. All you have to do is forget about your realm, and everything will fall into place for you here. We will have a family here; you would like it here if you would just let go of everything else. Please understand there is nothing left for you in that other realm, nothing but a failed life.”

Ivy rolled her eyes; she didn’t want to hear him and his lies. He was trying to make something out of nothing. He was forcing his world onto her, and trying to make this sound something fun, this was nothing fun. “Because you are forcing me to be here.” She growled. “You could have let me stay on the run and leave me alone.”

“But what fun would that have been?” he said grabbing her. “You are going to make more of yourself, and you are going to like it. I don’t like forcing people to do things, but I can already tell you are going to not do things my way and you are going to be a burden here.”

“I am going to make your life hell.” She said trying to get free from him. “I wanted to have a normal life, and you had my parents killed because they didn’t want to let me go. They didn’t tell me about what I am because they wanted that for me too.”

“They were selfish white dwellers, they knew we would have come for you, they were going to die regardless. You need to go and get ready for the party. After that, we are going to go to my room, and you are going to give me what I want.” He said releasing her. “I promise the party tonight is going to be fun.”

“I doubt that.” She said walking away from him.

She didn’t want to go to this party; she wasn’t even sure what Quinn was going to do, as he was going to announce something? She figured he was going to show her around and tell them about her and that he controlled her. She was going to try and escape and see if she could get far enough away from him. She hoped there was someplace she could get that he wouldn’t be able to find. She hoped Nick would be close enough that he could help hide her.

She had to play Quinn at his game and see if he would lower his guard, she knew he wasn’t stupid, but maybe he would fall for her stupid game and play her game.

She walked to her room and got ready like she was told to, the gown that she was to wear was pretty, it went with the amulet she was forced to wear. She knew Quinn wanted it to blend it so no one would question, that was fine, and she would leave it alone at least for now. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath.

“I have to figure out a plan.” She said out loud. “This has to work out, I have to get away.” She said looking at herself in the mirror. She looked horrible and she felt horrible.

A knock at her door made her roll her eyes, she wasn’t ready to go, but she didn’t have a choice. Walking over to the door she opened it, Drake was standing there with two others she didn’t know.

“Quinn sent us to get you,” Drake said with a fake smile. “He didn’t know if you would fight me, so he wanted them to come with me.” He said without looking at the two behind him.

“He knows I wouldn’t fight him, he just wanted me to know he has power.” She said rolling her eyes. “I already know this is going to be a shitty night.”

“You are already understanding him,” Drake said.

“He thinks he has power, but what he fails to understand is when I am truly tired of his games is when he will see that I am tired and he will see my power,” Ivy said closing the door. “Let’s get this party out of the way so we can continue my torture.” She said walking with him.

Drake didn’t say anything, they walked to the garage where Quinn waited for them, and he had more guards with him. He smiled when he saw that Ivy was wearing the gown and she made herself look beautiful.

“And here I thought you were going to come in jeans and a t-shirt.” He said opening the door to his SUV. “Get in and try and have some fun tonight Ivy, I promise you won’t have to do anything with me. You can even sulk at the table all night I have to entertain people.”

Ivy rolled her eyes and slid the backseat of the car, Drake got in next to her. The car ride was silent, and it didn’t seem to take long to get to the mansion where the party was taking place. Quinn drove to the entrance.

“Take her inside, and don’t let her out of your sight.” He said looking at Drake. “She gets away from you, you will be punished,” Quinn warned.

“She has the amulet on,” Drake said getting out of the car. “Come on Ivy.”

Ivy looked at Quinn and then Drake, she slid out of the car and followed Drake into the mansion she wondered if there was something about the amulet that wasn’t true. Drake wrapped his arm around Ivy. She watched as they waited near the door for Quinn.

“Don’t worry Ivy I will protect you,” Drake whispered.

“From?” Ivy questioned, she didn’t think there was anyone there that would hurt her, but now she was curious to see if someone would hurt her. She hoped someone would try something, maybe someone would steal her away and that would be the end of things. She hoped she could get away tonight. She prayed something happened.

Before he could answer Quinn came with the two men that he was with when they met him near the car. She wondered more about what was going on. She was a little scared now that they were at this party, and Quinn brought some security.

“Shall we?” Quinn said pulling Ivy away from Drake.
