Chapter 30
“Look Ivy, I know you want to be this girl that wants to fight this, but they are going to make you do things you don’t want to do,” Drake said touching her face. “Please don’t fight them, the more you fight them the more they like it. Please just eat, they will let you leave this room if they see that you are giving them what they want.”
“Fine,” she said dragging the chains over to the bed where the food was. “I don’t want you around me. You betrayed me, Drake. I fell for your lies. I thought you loved me, but you are a pathetic person,” she growled. “Please just leave and let me eat in peace.”
“I will do as you requested, but we will have to be together. We are bound as one. Just remember that,” he said before leaving her there to eat as she requested.
Ivy looked down at her food, she wasn’t hungry, but she didn’t want them forcing her to eat. She wasn’t even sure they would force her. She wanted to leave this room, but she wasn’t sure if it was another one of their tricks to get her to do what they wanted. She closed her eyes and forced herself to take a bite. The food was good, and she managed to eat a few more bites before the head dark dweller came into the room.
“Good I was coming in to make sure you were eating, I told Drake if you weren’t eating, I was going to hold you down and force it down your throat.”
“I would have liked to see you try,” Ivy said putting the fork down. “I don’t know why you have Drake afraid of you, but I am not going to have you try and bully me into thinking you can,” she said standing up.
“You are new to being a dark Dweller, Ivy, so you don’t have any idea of my powers. I will allow you to be the way you are, but be warned I have been at this a long time, and I will hurt you if you are not careful,” he growled.
“No, you won’t,” she mused. “You wouldn’t dare touch me. Remember, I am something special, and I am carrying a child that you need remember.”
“Fair point. Either you are smart, or you are incredibly stupid,” he said, touching his chin. “Since you did eat, I am going to allow you to leave this room, but I am binding you here so don’t even try and leave,” he said waving his hands and the chains disappeared. “Hic es tenetur. You are bound here,” he said looking at her.
“Thanks,” she said rubbing her wrists.
“So now you are going to follow me, I had a room prepared for you, it’s more comfortable than here, and you won’t be bothered, you are welcomed to walk around the city, and you have credits so you can buy things if you want,” he said opening the door. “You won’t hate it here Ivy, we brought you here for your protection as well as ours.”
“Why yours?” she said following him into the hallway.
“You are wanted by more than us,” he said walking with her. “You are special not only to us but there are also others that want you, now that we have you, you are protected. They will try and take you and we will protect you.”
“But you only will have me until your magic wears off in one and half years,” she said looking at him.
“Yes, and then the White Dwellers will have to protect you, but if you want to stay here you are welcome to, but only by your choice, and you will have to make a blood oath to us,” he said looking away from us. “But that will be done at the end when you or well before the one and a half years anyway. Follow me.”
Ivy wasn’t sure what kind of tricks she was facing, but she knew she couldn’t trust anything they were giving her. She knew he was probably wanting to make her comfortable for control over her, but she would let him think they had control over her, at least for now. She would try and get out of there when the time was right, she would run. She wasn’t going to let anyone get a hold of her baby. She would allow them to kill her if it meant her baby would have a life she didn’t care about. The Dwellers weren’t going to take that away from the baby.
“Here is your room. All you have to do is tell them your name at any of the shops and they will know your credits,” he said opening the door. “Here are your keys. If you need anything tell one of the guards to summon me and I will come.”
“Fine,” she said going into the room and closing the door. The less she had to deal with him, the better. Looking around the room, she was impressed the room was huge. It wasn’t dark, it was bright and beautiful. The room was white, the bed was in the middle with purple covers and pillows.
She walked over to the window and looked out, she had a beautiful view of the city, there were lots of people and shops. She walked around the room, a walk-in closet, and a huge bathroom with a stand-up shower and a huge tub. Her closet had many clothes, dresses mostly but there were jeans and t-shirts, so they didn’t expect her to dress in dresses all the time.
Ivy decided to take a shower and put some fresh clothes on and walk around the city and see what they had to offer, she didn’t want to get comfortable here, she still wanted to leave. She didn’t want to become whatever they were going to make her. She still needed to figure out how to get out of the city, she knew she was bound to the city, maybe she could find someone to break her out of there, it was probably not going to happen, but maybe it would.
Wandering around she was glad it was warm out, everyone seemed happy, they were laughing and having a good time.
“I see you are out,” Drake said coming up from behind.
“What do you want?” she said without looking at him.
“I saw you and figured you wanted to talk.”
“I don’t,” she said looking at him. “I figured I didn’t want to be stuck in my room and needed to get some air. Thanks to you I am bound to this place. I want to leave but can’t, so I figured I better check it out.”
“You will like it here, it’s nice here you don’t have to worry about anything here Ivy.”
“Except for when they call me and want to do whatever they want to me right?” she said stopping. “What are they planning to do to me, Drake?”
“I don’t know,” he said looking away from her.
“I know you know what they are planning. Stop lying to me, Drake. At least prepare me, please!”
“I can’t,” he said looking at her. “I wish I could tell you, but I can’t.”
“Why? Because you don’t want to be filled with guilt knowing that I knew you were a part of it?” she said crossing her arms. “Or is it so you can leave knowing that you knew and didn’t have to face me when it’s done?”
“I don’t know Ivy, I don’t know,” Drake said. “I don’t want them doing anything to you,” he said looking away. “I am trying to figure out a way to get you out of here but with the binding spell they used on you I don’t know if there is a way to.”
“Well thanks to you giving me away, there isn’t a way to get me out of here,” she said walking away from him. “We just need to figure out how to get the baby out of here when the time is right,” she called over her shoulder.
Ivy didn’t trust Drake. She figured he was still working for the Council, and they wanted to know if Ivy was up to anything. She was scared he was going to tell them that she was planning to escape, she was but they probably figured that out anyway. She didn’t care, she wanted her baby out of their hands. She couldn’t trust anyone, maybe Drake would help with the baby, but she doubted that.
“Hello, you must be Ivy the new Dweller.” A woman said coming out of one of the shops.
“Yes.” Ivy half-smiled. “I am.”
“Come, you can pick anything you want, as a welcoming gift.” The woman said wrapping her arm around her. “Please we haven’t had a new Dweller in a long time, it’s about,” she giggled.
“Thanks.” Ivy half-smiled when she walked into the shop it was filled with candy. “Oh, you’ve hit my favorite spot. Chocolate!” Ivy smiled big.
“Good! So, then you’ll be my best customer, everyone around here always whines that I make too much of it.”
