Chapter 114

Chapter 114
"Was that just my feeling? But it feels like I really saw Bella's face like she was angry!" She thought, still thinking about what she saw an hour ago.
While everyone was laughing at the debate between Captain and Depney, on one side there was a woman who didn't seem to like the closeness between the two of them and what was even stranger, the only person who felt the dark atmosphere was an intern who had only been there a few times.
"Nina, can you help me?" Someone who was in her mind suddenly appeared and made her flinch.
Isabella was already standing one meter beside her while throwing a sweet smile. But for some reason, she even remember the look on her gloomy face an hour ago.
"Y-yes, what is that?" Asked Nina nervously. She couldn't hide the awkward feeling that only she felt.
"Are you busy?"
"N-no! Incidentally Depney still hasn't called me!"
"Is that so? Thank goodness! If so, could you come with me for a bit? We have something to do!"
"Oh, of course!"
Bella stepped into Gavin's study and opened the door without knocking first. Sure enough, Bella dared to do it because Gavin wasn't in his room.
"I have documents to complete today. But, because I'm afraid that time won't catch up, so I hope you can help me finish it!"
"Okay, I understand. Just tell me what I can do!"
"I'm going to send files to this laptop, you can continue what I'm doing. I'm going to finish another document. How?"
"Fine, leave it to me! Erm...but, is it fine for me to do it in the captain's quarters? What if he gets angry and-"
"Don't worry! I'm the captain's trusted personal assistant. So, you don't need to worry!"
"I-is that so?"
Although a little hesitant because it has to help other people's work. However, Nina is also uncomfortable if she has to refuse. Moreover, she is still new in this place and an intern too. Even though her position is on the Depney team as the program's scriptwriter. But still she should not refuse any job assigned to her.
For 10 minutes the room was silent, the only sound that could be heard was the sound of keyboard keys being pressed. She thought if she should open a conversation to break this silence. But all she did was glance at Isabella who seemed serious about finishing her work.
"What should I ask, huh?" Nina thought.
"Nina!"
"Ah...yes?"
"You enjoy working here?" Asked Bella with eyes that were still faithful to the laptop screen in front of her.
"Of course I'm happy! I've dreamed of working for a place as great as this for a long time!" Nina who is always enthusiastic, answered enthusiastically. Even to the point of forgetting the awkwardness she had felt a few moments ago.
"Is that so? Thank goodness! If so, you don't mind Captain Gavin's very strict attitude?" Bella asked with a serious look.
"Erm...how about that? I think it's only natural for her to act like that!"
"You think so?"
"Yes, to lead a group filled with great and talented people, it takes a leader who is firm and disciplined like the captain. Isn't that why the director chose him?"
"Is that so? Maybe you're right!"
"Is it true?"
"Yes, captain is a strange person and very difficult to approach. That's why many disliked him when he was appointed the leader of this big program. Moreover, almost everyone still associated with his dark past. It makes the crew in other divisions jealous to him!"
"Jealous? Really?"
"Don't you believe it? Everyone thinks, if it wasn't for captain having a strange friendship with the president, it would be impossible for him to be accepted into this company,"
Friendly relationship? Nina doesn't really understand whether someone can get a good chance just because he is special or befriend someone special. However, even so, she could not deny because even now she is experiencing it. Moments where her life has gotten better since knowing Aiden.
"Nina? Why are you suddenly silent?" Bella asked. Nina snapped out of her brief reverie and immediately gave an awkward smile.
"Ah...I just thought maybe a lot of people misunderstood the Captain. He's a great guy, I'm sure of that. That's why he deserves it!"
Nina sank back into her thoughts, why did she suddenly defend this cold man even though she didn't really know him. On the one hand, she felt that she was acting like a sycophant just to keep her position secure in this place until she finished her apprenticeship.
"Ugh...my words aren't exaggerating, right?" She thought. She was truly afraid of her own prejudice, but Bella's reaction only made it worse.
Bella stopped typing and stared at Nina with a slightly surprised and worried expression on her face. Even though shr is back to guessing what other people think of her and this is a bad habit she always does.
"You're right, Nina. Captain is a great man-"
Before Bella had even finished her sentence, the figure they were talking about appeared at the same time as the door opened. His sudden appearance made the two women slightly surprised and immediately stopped their conversation.
"Looks like you need some help with this?" Gavin asked, glancing at Nina with that cold and flat look in his eyes.
"Ah...sorry, I didn't tell you. I thought it would be better if two people did it!" Bella immediately stood up and from her body language, she looked scared.
"Depney is looking for her whereabouts because she has work to do and you brought her here. Can't you do your part alone?"
"T-that's not it, Captain. It's just that I thought it would be better if someone helped out!"
"Oh my, this doesn't look good!" Nina thought. The discomfort was starting to bother her and it seemed like she had just made a mistake.
"If you really can't, you'd better step down. I'll find a replacement for you!"
"C-Captain, I didn't mean that, I just- Nina who offered to help, that's why I thought she wasn't busy. I beg your pardon!" Bella sat up with trembling hands.
Meanwhile, Nina who felt that she had just been made a scapegoat, could only stare at Bella with a look of disbelief on her face.
"Did she just accuse me?" She thought. Even though she didn't accept it, somehow her mouth didn't immediately argue like she usually did.
Gavin gave Nina another cynical glance and this time it was even more terrifying. This man doesn't talk much, but the look he gives can make the other person pee in her pants.
"Is that true? It was you who offered to help her?" Asked Gavin. Nina trembled, she turned her gaze to Bella who looked at her with a pitiful gaze that seemed unwritten.
"T-that's right, Captain!"
