Regrets

After Kristen left the dining room, Maria King sat down and stared at the untouched dishes and hissed loudly, "I hope I have not made things worse with the new revelation. It's not bad I told her?"

She mumbled and wiped the invisible sweat she thought was on her face.

"My poor child, my only mistake was not seeing the monster he is. I am sorry you and your father were my second choice. I will do all it takes to make sure Stephen pays for what he did to you, dear. I promise you."

She stood up and rang the bell on the wall, and immediately, several servants appeared. She scanned each one of them and finally, her eyes settled on the maid at the far end of the dining entrance, it was Annabel.

"Annie, Please help me get the bouquet of roses, make it two bunches, and tell Ferb to get the car ready."

Annabel smiled and nodded her head,

"right away ma'am."

She left after that and Mrs. King dismissed the rest of them after instructing them to take the dishes back to the Kitchen.

She headed out of the dining area as well.

With many thoughts in her mind, she walked slowly but steadily to her room. Involuntarily, she stopped and when the realization hit her, she was standing in front of Mr. King's personal room.

Her hand hung midways, "I can't be apologizing every time. I did nothing wrong, he is the one who has been wrong all these years."

She turned and headed towards her daughter's room. Instead of wasting her time with her husband, let her make peace with her daughter.

Mr. Stephen King watched his wife hesitate at the door through the keyhole and when it looked like she was coming in, he saw her left.

He huffed and turned his back on the door, "I never regretted leaving you for Maslica. She was everything you were not, Mrs. King. You might have thought I loved you but you were wrong, I came back to you because of what Mr. Chase left in your possession. I had thought I could get everything easily but he was way smarter than me. If he had mentioned his wills, I would have asked him to will everything to your name but he never did, I guess he found out I was the enemy. I don't also regret killing him, he deserved what he got."

He smiled evilly and continued, "Yes, I murdered him. It was no accident as everyone has believed. A car which it's braky was tempered with, causes an accident can't say to be an accident at all. I thought I was going to have peace after your death but here I am losing peace for seventeen years. Damn you, Chase!"

He ended and kicked the air angrily and after that started pacing around. He wasn't just angry but furious not just at Kristen but at her mother as well.

"Don't tempt me, Maria, to end you the way I ended Chase because if I do, this precious daughter of yours will see hell on earth, don't dare me," He warned seriously and simmered down a little.

***********

Cherry walked into the dining room and saw it empty, no breakfast, and the table had been cleared. She set the table herself and now, it's empty like breakfast has been eaten.

"I did not waste time bathing, did I?"

She wondered and beckoned to the next servant she saw, " Where is everyone?"

"Madam said no breakfast," the servant replied and Cherry waved him off and turned to leave but her phone rang instantly.

Her frown vanished and she picked up,

"Hello!"

"Who is up for breakfast?" the lady at the other end asked and Cherry beamed with a smile.

"That's definitely me, let me go grab my clothes and I am there in a jiffy, usual spot?" Cherry was bubbling with excitement, an offer for breakfast, she was not missing it.

"That's right, usual spot, see ya"

And the call was over.

"Oh Woah, I didn't know you are back in town, Francisca?" She said as she rushed the stairs to go get dressed.

*********

Frederick stood at the bar, not drinking but having a video call with Noami. Her call had come earlier and he could not afford to ignore the call. He wouldn't want to give her the impression that he is not into her like he claimed. His eyes were tired and dark circles were spotted. Frederick looked like he hadn't slept at all last night.

His pajamas hung loosely on his body.

He sighed and looked away, Noami's giggling was irritating him. There was nothing to say, the conversation was dry. Both were talking on the phone. She did not even ask about his well-being, only to say how happy she is that Frederick finally saw the goodness in her.

"You talked about lunch, can I cook for you, please?"

Her voice drew him out of his thoughts and he managed a smile, "Of course, dear. Anything for you. I had thought of taking you out for lunch but if you want to cook for me, no problem." He agreed easily without thinking about it.

He stopped to scratch his neck when he remembered he should not have agreed, it was too late, and he couldn't change his mind.

"That's alright then. I will make lunch for us and we have fun, I am a great cook, you know"

She giggled again and Frederick huffed in his mind," Do me a phone and get off the phone."

Naomi suddenly stopped talking and stared at Frederick for a while before saying, "I have got to go now, bye."

She hung up the call immediately which left Frederick stunned. He hadn't said that out loud, did he?

He checked himself and relaxed when he found out he never said what he said out loud. She hung on her own Accord and he is grateful because the heavens answered his prayers without him praying hard for them.

Yet there is another prayer request he wants to be answered for him; getting Kristen back.

"When am I getting my love back? Each moment of the day without you has been hell on earth for me. I miss you damn much. Two weeks is longer than all the years I have spent on Earth. My love, come back to me."

His phone rang, jolting him back to reality. Frederick picked up without checking who the caller was.

A few seconds later, the call dropped and a smile formed on his face.

"I might get my needed miracle today," Frederick said happily like a happy teenager.
