~Ch.18~ The triplet Rogues
“We must help her!” Olivia cries out and she starts to run in the direction of the scream.
Sterling grabs her arm, “No!”
She turns to look at him in disbelief, “You didn’t hear that cry?”
His eyes widen, he sniffs the air, and grits his teeth showing that he not only heard it, but he can smell it too. He does say a word but in a quick motion, he moves her behind him. The sudden shove causes her to lose her balance. She yelps and he spins around to catch her.
“So romantic!” Sing-songs are a very sarcastic female voice.
He shoves her back behind him, “Who are you and what do you want?”
An athletically built, and beautiful woman comes from behind the trees, “I want what everyone wants…” She stalks towards them, “I want to eat your lover right in from of your eyes!” She cackles.
“Over my dead body!” He snarls at her.
She starts to slowly transform, “That can be arranged!” Her cackle fills the air.
“Stop playing with our food!” Shouts a similar female voice. Only this one isn’t as preppy sounding, and her voice is slightly deeper.
“Who is that!” Sterling demands.
The second woman comes from behind the trees on the other side of them, “I’m her sister!”
Sterling growls and the first one cackles, “That’s sexy!” She is speaking to her sister but motioning at Sterling, “Looks like we have an alpha?”
“He’s not just any alpha…” says a similar third voice.
A third woman that looks identical to the other two comes from the other side. Now they are trapped. These three identical women have formed a triangle around them.
“He’s the alpha, Sterling!” She smirks at him, “Your grandfather has been looking for you high and low.”
The first woman's sarcastic, “Turns out that you’re out here playing house with the human?”
“Disgraceful!” Spats the second woman.
The third one speaks to her sisters, “I vote that we eat the human girl, but we turned him into his grandfather.”
The first one doesn’t seem to agree, “Why would we do that?”
The third one is running out of patience, “Aren't you tired of being a rogue.”
The second adds, “Tired of being hungry!”
“So what exactly are you thinking?” Questions the first.
The third one smirks at Sterling, “We eat the girl and we turn him in, but we insist on becoming his mates.”
The first cackles again, “Triplet Luna’s!”
“It’s brilliant!” Agreed the second one.
Sterling growls and he starts to transform. “Will it matter if we turn him in, all beat up?” Asks the first as she starts to change.
The second one starts to transform, “I think as long as he’s breathing it will be fine!”
Sterling’s transformation is complete and he attacks the first one. The second one comes at him from behind. He kicks her with his back foot and she goes flying. The first one grabs at his neck.
The third approaches Olivia, “You wanna tell me why the alpha king would risk everything for a human?”
Olivia crosses her arms, “I owe you no explanation!”
The Wolf laughs, “That’s fine because I was giving you a chance to explain, but I really don’t need your side of the story!”
“So you think you got everything figured out huh?” Replies, Olivia.
“I do!” She makes her way towards Olivia, “I’m assuming that you were the cursed human mate?”
Olivia’s eyes widen, “So if you know that he needs me then why are you so willing to eat me?”
The woman laughs, “We officiate the bond before Halloween and we become the Luna’s. As long as we are, we will always have some sort of control over him even in his beast form.”
Olivia scowls at her, “So you don’t really care what happens to him, you're just being selfish!”
She rolls her eyes and Olivia, “You’re being dramatic. Of course, we don’t care. It’s not like he’s our mate!”
Olivia hears a yelp and she turns her head to see Sterling being pinned down. The third triplet takes advantage of it and attacks her to the ground. She’s hovering over her and nipping at her in her wolf form.
“What is wrong with you?” Olivia screams as she pushes the wolf's face away, trying not to get bit by her big teeth.
The wolf responds by drooling on her. Olivia’s eyes glow, “I’ve had enough of this!”
With a big blast of wind, the wolf goes flying past her sisters. The two wolves stop biting at Sterling and their attention in her direction. She is standing with glowing flames coming through her fingertips, her hair is blowing in the wind, and her eyes are matching the color of the fire from her hands.
“I have had enough of you, mutts!” She points them.
They grow in response. “You can’t eat me and you can’t have my mate!” She claps her hands together and the fireflies in their direction.
All three of them yelp for help and run off into the woods. Olivia runs to Sterling's side. She is still glowing when she touches his wounds and heals him.
He looks up at her, “My beautiful mate!”
She blushes at his words, “I’m sorry, I didn’t help sooner!”
He shakes his head, “You are a new Medium. You don’t know your powers but you still saved my life!”
She helps him up, “Let’s go get our bond started. We are weak like this!”
He nods, “Yes we are but I don’t think they will be back!”
She rolls her eyes, “They won’t be the last ones to try and bother us. You’re the Alpha King, there will always be someone who wants you!”
“And it sounds like my grandfather put the word out to keep an eye out for my whereabouts.”
She dusts off his pants, “Exactly! We should be walking already!”
He laughs at her hastiness. She smirks as she pulls him by his hand and they continue down the path. The two are more connected now than before.
