Anna’s POV:
Scarlett rushed out of the ward, her heels clicking against the floors the sound gradually faded down the hallway.
Meanwhile, my entire body felt like it had been shocked with electricity, muscles involuntarily tensing as Blake held me close.
His arms wrapped around my waist with practiced ease. The position was intimate, his breath gently brushing against my ear, stirring memories I’d tried desperately to bury.”
These past weeks, I’d found myself indulging in his gentleness. But now, with him merely holding me, memories flooded my mind like water through a broken dam.
My head throbbed with sudden, intense pain. I pressed my fingers against my temples, applying so much pressure they turned white. Involuntary groans escaped my throat. The hospital’s harsh fluorescent lights felt like daggers stabbing at my eyes.
These memories weren’t sweet anymore. They had transformed into something deadlier than poison, each recollection slicing through my nerves like a blade.
I struggled against his grip, desperate to break free. Instead of releasing me, Blake’s fingers only dug deeper into my skin. He pulled me harder toward him until I was tightly fitted against his chest, his heartbeat mocking my erratic pulse.
Fuck! Get off me!” I shouted, my voice bouncing off the walls of the empty hospital room.
Blake didn’t budge. He just stared at me, his expression cold and unyielding.
What kind of look was that? It was the gaze of someone with absolute power. His eyes remained calm, yet they cut sharper than an eagle’s. His jawline tightened visibly, a vein pulsing at his temple.
The pressure of his stare made breathing difficult, as if an invisible weight compressed my chest. My blood seemed to slow, thicken in my veins. My body stiffened to the point of immobility, even my fingertips losing sensation.
“Done with your tantrum?” His voice cut through the silence, low and dangerous like a knife slicing through air.
I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, then opened them to look at him expressionlessly. “Can you let go of me now?”
The smell of disinfectant on Blake made my headache worse, but it was the unmistakable trace of another woman’s perfume that
truly nauseated me.
He didn’t release his grip. If anything, it tightened as he spoke, his tone colder than mine: “No matter how upset you pretend to be, it won’t wake my father up. Save it.”
When he mentioned William, his eyes reddened slightly–a flicker of genuine emotion breaking through. I rarely saw Blake this
vulnerable.
Coming here, I had rehearsed an entire speech, but none of those carefully chosen words seemed useful now. Blake had this uncanny ability to drain all my energy–I felt like I might collapse any second.
I laughed weakly. “Then let me go. I’ll come back and pretend another time.”
I lowered my eyes to his hands on my waist. He gripped so tightly that my skin ached beneath my blouse.
I tapped his hand lightly. “That hurts.”

Chapter 128.
Blake suddenly moved. Sharp Bain shot through my neck as he bit down on the sensitive skin where my neck met my shoulder.
His scorching breath made my hair stand on end, but it was his acctory tone that truly made me feel trapped: ‘Who told you to come here? Can’t stay away from me, can you?”
Im hot the one who can’t stay away!” The pain made me tilt my neck, my voice trembling. Let me tell you, as your wife, without my permission, doctors won’t approve IVF. You’d better not mess with me, Blake. If I stay as Mrs. Wright without having your child. your dad might collapse again right after he wakes up!”
The burning sensation against my skin retreated. He released my waist only to grab my neck, forcefully turning me to face him. His eyes had darkened to a stormy shade I knew all too well.
“Anna, how could you be so
lous! Cursing my dad like that?” Blake gritted his teeth. “If I wanted a divorce, I’d have a thousand ways to do it. Don’t flatter yourself!”
His accusation sparked my fury. I spoke rapidly, without any pretense of elegance: “Who’s vicious, Blake? Me or you? That nude photo you said you deleted–if you hadn’t kept it out of your sick obsession, how could it be all over the internet? Is that one of your thousand ways to divorce me, this disgusting method?”
“What photo?” Blake frowned, appearing genuinely confused.
he would I studied his face, searching for signs of deception. Was he truly unaware or just pretending? If he truly cared about me, have prepared an umbrella when the sky darkened, not waited until after the storm began. Blake was no longer someone I could rely
“That slap I gave you earlier was well deserved.” I felt exhausted. “I’ve said what I came to say. I won’t see you again except for the
divorce.”
At the word “divorce,” something changed in his expression. His eyes reddened, but this time with something darker than grief. With lightning speed, he grabbed my jaw.
“From now on, don’t you dare leave me!” Then he kissed me forcefully.
I struggled against him, pushing at his chest, trying to turn my head away, but it was like fighting against a brick wall. He continued despite my resistance, on the very spot where Scarlett had just been sitting. It was unbearable, disgusting.
“Blake!” I finally called out his name, reaching my limit.
He ignored my protest, his hands now working on the buttons of my blouse. “Since you’re offering yourself, I might as well have a taste,” he murmured against my skin.
My body trembled–partly with rage, partly with helplessness.
“Go ahead, try everything you can to divorce me. Every time you mention it, I’ll fuck you,” he said roughly. “Your body is more honest than you are. Look how beautifully you tremble. You don’t even know how much you want me!
His cruel words hit me like a physical blow. I felt my blood drain away, like falling into an ice cellar. My skin instantly paled. I couldn’t control my shaking; my legs weakened, barely supporting me. My head pounded, temples throbbing, vision blurring.
His words cut me inch by inch–each syllable like a poisoned arrow piercing my heart. The image I had preserved of Blake–the man who had once held an umbrella for me in the rain–shattered into countless fragments.
“You’re no different from other men,” I said, utterly disappointed.
He grabbed my jaw again, face grim. “Different how? You’ve seen other men naked?” He forced my hand toward him in a degrading gesture.

Chapter 128
‘I plan to see plenty more in the future!” My voice carried unprecedented resolve.
“Are you satisfied now?” My lips curled into an icy smile that held no warmth.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath that shuddered through my body. My eyelashes trembled with the effort of holding back tears as my nails dug crescents into my palms.
Closed eyes might stop tears from falling, but how could they possibly stop a heart that was bleeding from wounds too deep to heal?
